Joel , you are acting like you are from another planet. It’s just ice cream and it’s just an old motorcycle- there are hundred thousands of them in Thailand . Nothing special
You are incorrect sir :) but give me a chance to use a few simple arguments to try and WIN your affection. Or respect, at the very least!! First argument. Emotion. This scene is full of exactly the type of small yet wonderful detail which makes Thailand special to me, and the same that also makes any trip to anyone, anywhere in the world, anywhere that’s different than where “we come from,” special to them! You are (somewhat) accurate in noticing that there’s no single thing here that is completely never-before-seen-on-earth, but I say that from an emotional standpoint, there is VERY much to be found here that is ALL perfect in its own way! Therefore, it is completely deserving of getting all my excitement and joy in the discovery of it, as much as any personal taste or choice that any human has ever had the right to have, in any of our collectively mundane but full of invitation to the joy of personal inclination that any emotional being can experience. Second argument - opposite end, and purely logical - one of the most classic arguments in all of philosophy asks simply “what if everyone took YOUR position, what would the end result be?” (Your statement in a logical sentence would equate to something like - Nothing that isn’t one-of-a-kind is special. Therefore, most humans will only have 1-2 days in their entire lifetime which are meaningful enough to share. Is that a life worth living? In this case, for both the emotional argument (subjective), and the general argument (objective), your point of view is not the one I want to take. Feel free to build a reply on either subjective or objective bases, I will definitely listen and give you a fair and honest attempt at a response. Until then, all the best Marciano! Hope today is going as well as it can!
Marciano B bro....that isn’t an ordinary ice cream...it’s got a glob of sticky rice in the bottom of the cone and carnation sweet milk over the coconut ice....yes it can be found elsewhere but I’ll have to say it not just ice cream....lol

@@JoelsTastyRide Thank you Joel. It's true what you said. I grew up in a little town call Tahlki, so many places that you've shared and vivited. Makes me feel like I'm home visiting. My twin brother and my younger sister had a chance to come to United State to go to school and we have a good life here. But we will never forget where we came from just a little town. We try to go more often to visit maybe about every two years. We had a family trip planned for early this summer, but because with the COVID-19 we had to cancel for now. So again thank you so much you, Mark and the family for all the amazing adventures videos. Live, Laugh, Love and as always take care and be safe.

Well. I dont know what to say, maybe its also my goofy smile and... intense curiosity to learn about bright and crunchy foods!! haha. Lady Chaos, thank you. Thanks so much
How is this enjoyable? Risking your health with someone cooking for you without a mask or gloves in a rundown kitchen. Why don’t you just put on some big boy pants and cook for yourself?
Hi Goon!! I actually do cook at home more than I eat out... but come on now, HOW could you pass up THIS place?!?! Absolutely amazing, had no choice, had to turn straight back and see what this incredible couple was up to!
It's amazing to me that despite so many differences, there's so much in common between groups of people many many thousands of miles apart. This makes me feel like any of the times I've pulled up to a very old General Store owned by an auntie and uncle in the back woods of Vermont or Maine and sat down for some coffee and apple cider donuts. Experiencing these places is a gift!
That was an awesome restaurant, that noodle soup look delicious 🤤 I love great accidental finds. Looked like a great day thanks for sharing it with us you and Li be blessed and be well
Hi Jennifer!!! Glad to see you as always, I hope things are going well today in the nice warm AZ! This restaurant still sticks in my mind even a week later. That feeling was just TOO strong, we had to turn back and find out more. The mom and dad here were just TOO cool and it reminded me very much of my own years in the countryside, being taken care of by people just like this couple and.... yeah I just had to try and make a video. Didnt even know what I was saying half the time, just so happy!!! Just really happy being there....
Joel Bruner it was an awesome video don’t worry to much about what you say your an awesome kind hearted guy and we all love your content 😊 it was definitely an awesome restaurant. I simply love family owned and run restaurants, it seems like the food taste better because it’s made with love and soul. Plus the care they take in their customers shows 😁 I am well here in Arizona thanks for asking, the weather seems to have shifted into what we would call a bit of fall weather. Sad thing is our skies are super dark from all the smoke from all of the California fires, I pray for them all. Well hope your well much love to you and Li be blessed

Amazing that this couple has been living here 30 years, not much progress, but they are content and happy. Mind you, it makes for a quaint and unusual restaurant! Same goes for the store too. They love that you’re spending time in conversation with them. Lovely people! Lovely Vlog Joel!! ❤️ the roads less travelled sure offers surprising treasures❗️

Thats awesome JK, I have actually done this many, many times already.... just without a camera. Thats part of my personal battle, not to regret what Ive missed, but instead, try to make GOOD the things that I still have in front of me. Honestly, the 10 years in the countryside here could all have been on RUclips, and very honestly they would have had quite a few completely and totally unique, never before seen videos (I lived in a very small town, PURE Thailand countryside, full of festivals, local superstition, all the good, the bad, the crazy,... the amazing and beautiful) BUT. I didnt have a camera, nor did I want to have a camera!!
@@JoelsTastyRide, one day when we have saved enough money and I have worked hard and slimmed down and am fit again, I would love to come to Thailand with my husband and children and book you and Li for the tour of our lives! (On bicycles of course).
Wow, Joel. Timeless is right. Your linguistic exchange towards the end of the video with Tai Yai is absolutely timeless. Preservation of language, like the Navajo and the Eskimo. Thank you Joel. That was a special and memorable scene. Awesome!
JK, what do you know, this got me researching some about languages (and did you know that many Native American languages are tonal? Many!!) I am MOST honored to be just a small part of anything preserving of these very cool, meaningful, very special and unique local cultures. It is tragic to think that so many have already been lost, similar to the extinction of an entire animal species, thats the same level of sadness as the loss to our global culture of any of these languages and histories... Tomorrow I am going to explore just a small bit of yet another new one for me - the Plai people are a VERY small group, maybe the smallest I will have the honor to meet yet! Stay tuned... get excited with me!!

houses like these are pretty common, expecialy in the rural areas of thailand. Most residents start building thier houses by adding on infrastructure they can afford, so when money runs out, or they think the house is done they stop building. This is why the house ends up looking unfinnished but it does the job :)
Hi Richy :) Thats cool that you recognize this 'construction' :) Ive lived in Thailand for awhile now - Ive never found a place exactly like this one!! It was amazing...

Hi Joel you happen to be in the best country during the pandemic with so many places to explore n blog about it. You used to live in Khon Kaen and now have moved to Chiang Mai. Is that right ?
Joel I so do agree with you and this restaurant and the environs, simplicity sometimes we forget that not everything has to be glorious looking. Appreciation of using what you have, being happy in doing what you like and being able to make a living like aunty and uncle and the ice cream man, also look how happy and welcoming they were. You keep taking us on your adventures giving us opportunities to experience great finds like this one, look how the shop owners took time to teach and talk to you in their language, meeting wonderful people along the way, love to you and Li and safe travels ❤
I appreciate that! Really Jeffrey, thank you. I cant possibly put into words what just the THAI in general have done for me, given me over these years, so its literally nothing at all to try and give thanks with every single one of these videos, with all of these wonderful older-generation people. If only I could tell ALL the stories of kindness I have benefited from along the way here....

Joel Bruner it happens to the best of us. Thank you for taking the time to check & message and yes things are doing okay atm. Wishing all the good things for you & your family.
Great find, a nice hole in the wall. When i travel i like to take a bus to the end of its line then wander, and eventually figure out how to get back.
houses like these are pretty common, expecialy in the rural areas of thailand.
@@JoelsTastyRide And the way they Lay out the CHB is called Stack Bond right? That makes the structure looks unique in your eyes because the usual or common layout of CHB is Running Bond.
Hi Lady Chaos :) that’s an interesting term :)
A Big Hello from Texas. Awesome restaurant that is the kind of places that I like and great video and content. Thank you Joel and have a great day brother.
I live for these travel vlogs right now 😻
Random, smalls fam owned spots are always the best!
Looking forward to relaxing and watching your video
This makes me miss visiting my grandparents since they also live in a small sleepy countryside town but with more open fields. Feels very homey and everyone knows one another.
Hi Cali doll :) I am sure I would love to visit this home you are describing, sounds perfect, and yes - very worth the Missing feeling. Thanks for writing, and thanks for your support

Great video. I like your positive attitude. Very refreshing in this day in age. Keep up the good work. 👍🏽👍🏽
nothing beats a place like this indeed a place well found
My kinda place! You've just got to love the old guy's waist support, and the chilled out dog, and the food, the friendliness. Makes the world go around!
Dude, you're the best. So humble, so open to the culture, keep it up, man!
Yep you also can see he loves. 💜
Thank you Mary, really thanks! thats awesome.
This was a great one Joel! Loved it!
Oh man, what a place. Thank you so much Joel and Lizi for gifting us with such an amazing video. Much love 🤗❤🌶
Both my favorite dishes especially Kao Soi and that small place is the best kind of place for food in Thailand !
There are no accidents! you were meant to be there. I also feel you are definitely living your Dharma and you are meant to teach. I am learning a lot from you. Just started a notebook with Thai and other dialects, I love it.
