So many developers release games and cant wait to get the pay check they deserve. But with steams release many thousands of games go on the market everyday meaning that there is more competition. This mean new strategies have come out to make people buy your game. And one of these strategies is releasing games for completely FREE!

All these examples only work for multiplayer games, if you're an indie dev crafting a nice singleplayer experience just make a good game and charge a one time flat fee
You should name your video : "Why Multiplayer games for free make money" because all your exemples are multiplayer and your arguments work hard on a singleplayer

Also alot of multiplayer games nowadays include some sort of a battle pass and I hate that when I buy it I basicly have to play that game almost every single day to get to the end of the pass it's so annoying...
Interesting topic! I personally have mixed feelings about keeping certain features of a game behind a paywall, such as DLC or additional game content, it just seems like baiting a cat with a piece of string only to put it in your pocket once you've gotten it excited. I personally like the idea of having a free demo for the player to try before buying the full game. Technically, that's still keeping a lot features (really, the rest of the game) behind a paywall, but I think it's a little more honest than tempting the players to buy accessories. If the cost of the game is something reasonable (and if it's a one-time payment) such as $10 - $20, depending on the game of course, then that seems more reasonable and a bit more honest than other payable content.
tl;dr I don't have anything against free games, but if you want to make money with a game, making a great free demo then making money from the full game seems like a better option to me (personally).
I also think releasing a demo and then having the game at a price is a good option. In terms of paywalls... I hate them. I totally agree that having features of a game cost extra to the game itself is a bit scummy. Some games implement DLC pretty well and I don't mind them as much but generally speaking SOME dlc are alright.
I hate demos I prefer to have a very decent free game and pay for some dlcs to make it better, it's like the free game it's a huge demo and you pay the dlc for the full game. But I hate when you pay for a game and it's incomplete and you need to pay for dlcs so the game it's decent

Im sorry but saying that WoW subscription is "scummy" is not something i can agree with, this game is an MMO, they need to pay a lot of money just to run and mantain the servers

I don't think monthly subscriptions are scummy. I think what EA did with PvZ2 was scrummy, where they make the game increasingly difficult but then you can pay to win.

I mean the video does brings up some good points but I wouldn't say CS is scummy, the level 21 grind is probably for newer players to get into the game before throwing them into try hard lobbies where the skill difference matters.
And the subscription model is not bad, it's needed to finance the constant uptime of servers
Yes the prices could be lower or f2p could be introduced to some extent like final fantasy but the subscription thing is reasonable enough.
Now in cago you can't level up unless you buy prime. Also good video if you ask me.

subscription is not that scummy if the game is insanely good like final fantasy 11 with its free trial which itself is said to be quite big and mmo need to keep pumping content forever to keep running and subscription is a better option than pay to win otherwise the mmo wont be able to feed its devs.
So in other words use in game purchases in a way that would make the game more playable o make money from a free game
