Most of the power is locked by the exhaust, to get that power out go with the Kleeman or MBH long tube headers, eurocharged shorty headers are an option but provide less power. Further down the exhaust the primary cats are a huge bottleneck, go with 200 cell metal core primary cats, 100 cell secondary cats (or no cats at all, monitors can be turned off using STAR for no CEL), gut the stock airbox or go with Speed43 airbox (increased plenum volume), underdrive pulley, lightweight front rotors (7lb lighter per wheel). You also forgot about the rear diff fluid.
True dual exhaust using the clk 63 rear sway bar. Pss9 coilovers eibach front swaybar fabrication adjustable camber caster and all suspension arms long tube headers needswing air box and a custom tune. Or if you could find a good use e55 engine and ecu. You know the engine is a droppin. Send the to ecu's to eurocharged and they can do a vin swap to use you factory keys on the e55 ecu and engine. And the longtubes and everything you did to the e55 amd you have a 3700lbs killer of lambos. Lol
The oil leaks 🙄...had the RMS done on my W220’s M113 last year. What a drag 🤑...I still love my car though. Zero compromises ABC ride, 0-60 in 6.2 for a ~4200lb yacht, and 26+ MPG cruising @80MPH!!!
I picked up a C55 4 months ago. After having watched all your E55 videos previous to my purchase, I was a little disappointed I couldn't find a good E55 option in the area (Minnesota.) However, it is an awesome car and I have loved every minute with it!! Super excited to see what you have in store for yours. Keep up the great videos!
Great vid! I totally agree about the oil changes, the M112/M113 need clean, high quality oil and a decent fleece filter. They get sludged up easily and develop upper engine noises if oil changes are neglected.
You need to do valve cover gaskets, breather cover gaskets, oil cooler, and all the rubber gaskets on front of the motor. Depending on mileage, it may be a good time to do a water pump. Also, DONT forget your fuel filter!
great video. I've either done or plan to do all of the items you just mentioned. I only need to do pads, rotors, and brake fluid as of now. I would recommend changing the trans electrical plug as cheap insurance when you do the fluid and filter. I might also suggest changing the conductor plate in the transmission when you do the fluid. The speed sensor is known to fail. I also disconnected the return line from the trans cooler and flushed the fluid. The old stuff was disgusting.
Thanks so much Riley. I'm really excited to do this series and just wrote out ideas for about 10 videos to bring this car to completion. See you in the next video. Alex
I bought a CLK320 2 years ago to resell , Never had ANY interest in ANYTHING from across the Pond ... BUT this car is a Blast to drive. I have Kept it and im now looking to up grade to a V12 or something AMG . I AM CONVERTED the Quality and Performance at Used Buick Prices .Thanks
Honestly I love how the factory C55 18" wheels look on those cars. If I had to pick something aftermarket though it would be SSR GT10's. Same styling as the oem wheels but legit two piece with polished lips.
Factory 18" wheels with proper performance tires is all you need. As for the brakes, the aluminum calipers have corrosion buildup on the inside which is causing the pad to get stuck and not properly move in and out, but you already knew that. Of course the dealer will tell you that you need new calipers but all you have to do is scrape the corrosion off and free up the space around the pad so that it moves freely.
Can you please do a breakdown of what its going to cost parts and labor for each fix? Also, what you think it would cost at a independent shop. Not everyone has a lift int air garage ya know!! :). Great video!!
I think the factory split 12 spoke amg wheels with the slight lip looks good! I personally like wheels that have a little more meat on them rather than super skinny spokes. With thin spoke wheels I always catch myself looking at what's behind the wheels other than appreciating how they match the car. Unlike a 95 civic there is nice stuff to look at behind the c55 wheels tho so. Thanks for sharing Alex almost makes me want to stray from my M cars lol maybe 😛
FYI I bought a new front belly pan for the CLK55 for less than $75, 50ish IIRC. Check around, that old one should be chucked. Cool vid - looking forward to seeing the front bumper refurb, mine could use that as well. Be glad all of the chicken wire is there, that stuff ain't cheap.
Really enjoy your videos, please make us a video of changing the front brakes, I've got the same set up on my clk 55 I would love to see how to change them, thx a lot man!
Im getting ready to put a 5.5 liter out of a clk55 into my 430. Im also looking into putting a manual 6 speed but that might be to much I'd have to trick computer ibto thinking its in neutral all the time. Im doing this in my garage. Enjoy your channel alot.
Can you make a video of the engine mount replacement? I noticed on mine I smell oil every so often so I think I have a slight one. I bought all new rotors and pads from FPC as well and new tires all the way around that I’ll be putting on this weekend. But I noticed at idle it’s a little bit rough (not too terrible tho) and on a forum they had the same thing and replaced the mounts so I think that’s what I’ll need to do. Great vid! I can’t wait to see what’s next on this thing!
Looks like a nice solid car there Alex. From my experience those silver thrust arms are kind of a early weak/failure point in the w203 with sport suspension. I've gone thru 2 sets after 225k miles of normal use. I find it easier to replace the whole arm, it comes w 2 new joints plus peace of mind arm is not bent. I also replace the black control arm while I'm at it since that bushing cracks too but not as bad or early. Also check the sway bar bushings, they tend to squeak and make weird noises when the start to fail. Definitely my W203 C230 is a lot easier to fix than my W211 E55. Look forward to your next videos! - Dennis from Dallas
These w203 55’s are so understated! Sure they are definitely not the fastest amg ever but are a bundle of joy to drive. I’ve had close to 15 of them over the years and planning on getting another one just to add to the collection of toys. Granted I wish they came with the m113k from factory 😂 lol
You should make a video when you replace those oil cooler gaskets because we have to replace them on our E55 lol. Also, the Verde axis wheels look similar to the niche targas. Check them out
Great video Alex I am a amg fan and driver I am getting my amg ready for showing and spending nearly £3000 bringing it back up to scratch. It has only got 59000 mile when I bough it last year and it’s the last Mercedes clk amg sport that was made. I like watching for tips.
Nice Videos! I would say the best wheels would be the E55 AMG MONOBLOCK wheels they come in 18" and 19" versions I think the 18" would be better it gives it enough tire to ride comfortably but not too much so it looks just right!
Hey Alex your videos have one of the highest thumbs up/thumbs down ratios of any channel I sub. You’re currently at like 615/3 right now. Kinda unheard of!
That's great!! The only one I got really destroyed on was my 402,000 mile E55 VS a 69,000 miles E55 on the dyno. One car broke so I didn't get a good readng. People didn't take kindly, haha. But yea man very happy to see the thumbs up on most videos. Thanks for watching! Alex
Headers and EC tune NOS That’s why I went with c32amg easier to mod Upper and lower control arms sway bar bushings, check the sway bar itself where the bushings attach they rust out bad
I was looking at the following wheels for my C55: Motegi MR122G Motegi MR 133 ASA GT13 (Tire Rack) I think the stock 18" rims are the best looking, but they are very pricey and bend / crack often.
Hey Alex, love the channel. Need more E55 videos. Question, how does someone go about contacting you? I recently bought an immaculate 04 E55 that is bone stock and am looking to start modifying it. I come from the modular Ford crowd and am fairly greenhorn when it comes to reputable aftermarket companies for these AMG's. Keep up the great work!
I think you should find a c55 kompressor motor from a wrecked car swap it into your car. Then find a c55 like yours with a blown motor. Put your motor in it and flip it to cover the cost of the kompressor motor...
"bucktooth wheels" lol. I always thought the C class AMG sounded meaner than the E class AMG. I need to get that racelogic box in the see-through car when we race, because I know you're going to wonder why I beat you....lol.
Need more C55 videos !! I also have a 2006 AMG C55 would love to see more DIY videos for this model . hit that donation button guys these videos are amazing !
Love this! How do you do about SBC when changing pads and rotors? heard you pretty much need star diagnostics to do it, havnt had to change either since I bought the car a year ago yet but called Mercedes for fun and asked how much it'd cost at the dealer and got quoted $1150

Would you guys mod this car and if so what would you do to make it faster?

This is one of the best channels on utube you explain everything so us non mechanics can understand what your talking about. 5 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I learn from EVERY video you do. I didn't know I could be even MORE of an AMG fan, but, you made that happen. Keep it up, Alex!

I am catching up on a few episodes, like the way you edited your video. Thank you Alex, always. LSC rocks!
Great video Alex. As a Mercedes owner I really like your videos.
Superb video. Many thanks from a mercedes fan from the UK.
Thanks you for being the only good youtuber with e55 and c55. These cars are my weakness
Another crazy video from you. Please make sure to upload all those changes that you do on it.
Great video. Great tips on the car. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for this channel, Alex! Rewatching every episode for my new CLK500 project
So far you get a thumbs up on this series. in-depth but not to technical is why you get a like from me.
This is my favorite car you tube channel unlike other channels who take forever and never follow through with their projects *tavarish manual sl55*
J FERRARI I agree! This channel is so professional. Alex is awesome!
Great video, just subscribed. I'm anxious to follow this project assuming I'll pick up ideas and solutions for my C32
From montreal, canada . I really enjoy your Channel. First ever RUclips Channel that i subscribe.
Great vid! I totally agree about the oil changes, the M112/M113 need clean, high quality oil and a decent fleece filter. They get sludged up easily and develop upper engine noises if oil changes are neglected.
I just started driving my 06 c55 amg and i love it and im so happy someone has one on youtube
Alex
You go boyyyyyy
Your knowledge is so much power
Thank you Alex!!! My uncle Ricky and I watch your show . Trying to get the w163 all dialed in. Thanks to you.
Great video, as always.

Thanks so much Riley. I'm really excited to do this series and just wrote out ideas for about 10 videos to bring this car to completion. See you in the next video.
Alex
LegitStreetCars. As for the wheels just match the ones on the e55. Heck why not start a 55 collection. Get an s55 next.
I'm liking this channel :)
Alex please make a video on all these fixes. We need more MB and especially AMG content on youtube. Such underappreciated cars.
Great video. I love this car. I think the C55 stock wheels look great and will bring back the car more to it's initial factory condition.
Great job. Keep going.
Great video as always. Wonder if the 0-60 runs were done on Lehigh ave west of the city.

Nice vid!
Dude saw your car in person at the speed inc open house. One of the cleanest 4th gen in the Midwest for sure.
what about powerflex kit for the upper and lower arm inner bushes?great videos keep the great job!!
So, round about $9,000 for a fully sorted C55 that's pulling 5.1 0-60 with 150K on it??? That is amazing!!! 👌🚀
I paid $6800 for a clean title C55 with 66k miles on it...
I can't like the first 30 seconds of this video enough! X-D
Really enjoy your videos, please make us a video of changing the front brakes, I've got the same set up on my clk 55 I would love to see how to change them, thx a lot man!
Love the videos!! I live by you. If you every need a hand I’d love to learn and help!

I was going to go look for my own cheap and reliable AMG, until I saw those underbody trays haha!
Watch the next next on this car where I fix all the oil leaks for $150. No biggie at all

Here to see what exhaust mods you make! My C55 is bone stock but I really want more burbles and pops, but without the drone.
I like those wheels at the end in your wall. Not the chrome ones but the other one.
Love your videos, it makes me realize that EURO Cars are not meant for me no matter how you color IT. Thanks for the free wisdom and entertainment.👌👍✌
AMG monoblock II. or 3pc BBS basket weaves.

Oh and I say go for the stock wheels maybe similar off a clk. And I hear that the big brakes off an SLK55 is basically a direct bolt on for the w203.
Very informative.
These w203 55’s are so understated! Sure they are definitely not the fastest amg ever but are a bundle of joy to drive. I’ve had close to 15 of them over the years and planning on getting another one just to add to the collection of toys. Granted I wish they came with the m113k from factory 😂 lol
Another great video. Any word on when you might be discussing the Direct Fuel Injection issues and how to counter the carbon buildup?
MayFerg I have the same M113 engine in my SLK55AMG. It doesn’t use direct injection - probably among the reasons why he likes it.
MayFerg easy.... Nitromethane !!!. Jk
You should make a video when you replace those oil cooler gaskets because we have to replace them on our E55 lol. Also, the Verde axis wheels look similar to the niche targas. Check them out
Bout time you posted another video on the c55 lol

Sweet video! Where is a good place to get just the lenses?
square wheels.
more lambo videos please
Ya and a triangle less is more my friends, less is more. Peace
Niche Misano , I have it on my w211 e55
Dont't forget a Rear Differential flush!!!

Ya that video was a bumer but ur chanel is my favorite and looking to get an E55 as soon as I can
Best LOOKING OEM WHEEL EVER IS THE SL600 Alphard wheels!!!
Undercarriage cover in w203 has that problem where the oil gets every where, and also the upper cam manifolds, they blow gasket easily
The AMG Whisperer lol.
Headers and EC tune
NOS
That’s why I went with c32amg easier to mod
Upper and lower control arms sway bar bushings, check the sway bar itself where the bushings attach they rust out bad
I was looking at the following wheels for my C55:
Motegi MR122G
Motegi MR 133
ASA GT13 (Tire Rack)
I think the stock 18" rims are the best looking, but they are very pricey and bend / crack often.
Aleks M I think I am going to the the last gen CL63/65 double 5 spoke wheels for mine. They look clean and have the OEM look as well
Aleks M Motegi? Please don’t buy that garbage
@@Masonianjar video?
Hope to see the video for valve cover gasket, engine cooler O rings, flushes and oil change! 4Real
Alex - PLEASE make a video on the oil cooler seal replacement! This is a current problem on my E55 and I want to fix it soon.
spazman13579 it's literally a peice of cake except you need a huge socket (30+ mm) to remove the oil canister housing nut.
how did you notice the problem? Do you loose oil pressure?
@@steveromeocars you get leaks around it

For the wheels i would suggest 19" from CSL 55AMG 8,5 and 9,5 5 spoke deep concave
It would be awesome, if you would do a video how to reseal the upper breather chamabers :)
Do a video changing those parts ✌
I spy a Matco box :) Tool box tour video?
Can you do a video on replacing the transmission fluid please I want to do it on my e320 but I would like someone to show the steps
Great video Alex! But a Tesla t-shirt? Come on! 😆
Please show us how to do everything!!!
Love this!
How do you do about SBC when changing pads and rotors? heard you pretty much need star diagnostics to do it, havnt had to change either since I bought the car a year ago yet but called Mercedes for fun and asked how much it'd cost at the dealer and got quoted $1150
Hey Alex, you are aswesome infornt of the camera! Could definitely imagine you in a tv show!
Thanks! One day my friend, one day.
Alex
Love the videos, but what is going on with the TA?
What about monoblock AMG wheels?
Alex, great channel. What are your thoughts on higher mileage cars? If maintained correctly what do you think the average life of a vehicle should be? I think a lot of people stay away from cars with over 100k do you think that is unnecessary with cars from the past decade?
Put on some repro staggered 19" CLS AMG wheels!
Please make a video of the engine mount swap
emocan126 check Tavarish's SL build if you want to see that sooner than later.
thank you i have c55 amg 2005
I would like to see the AMG wheels that came on it? Mono Blocks..?
Don't forget the spark plug leads. I replaced 2001 V6 spark plug leads and ohm tested the old one. Only four were within factory spec. Three were dead and 6 was out of factory spec but worn out... higher ohm rating. Can't recall exactly ehat it was... something lke 1400+ ohm. No matter what... only 1/3 of 12 was good... 2/3 was bad! Engine ran so much better and no more fuel fume.
Clk black series rims would be awesome.
Get the OEM 18 inch period wheels for this as it was originally.
For wheels, the sl55 multi-spoke wheels look best. Part number W65283MS to be exact. My friend has them on his c55, and they're great
Hi great video.....like every other of yours everything explaind with detail...I have a question....I want to buy a w203 Mercedes AMG...but i am at a delema...c32amg or c55amg...i don't know if the c32amg is a such reliable as the c55.....thanks....✌
you should get 19" vossen they will look so damn sick on it
I know Renntech used to make an intake hard to get so does needswing
the wheels from 2018 c63 amg will look awesome with dark gray colour
