These games are designed to do that, they choke me up to grow up with these games. If anything just shows your appreciation for the artistic creation these games where. Allot of feeling sensitive towards things is because they spark old memories, times outside of the chaos.
I can’t thank you enough for this. I went on a nostalgic trip from beginning to end. Me and my friend scrounging up the money to buy the game. Riding bikes up to eb games to buy it. Untangling snes cords Talking to each other our grade school crushes Scrounging up more money to go buy snacks Head banging to the dark litch music Charging up weapons to the max and loving the max charge animations Busting out the flamie drum Soaring through the sky never ending story style. Fighting the mana beast. And the end credits and the few seconds of silence and my friend and I realized it was all over T_T
Literally sounds like my childhood. Except my brother bought me the game on a whim when I was 8... and couldn't fathom the imagination influx he'd given me. I played that game through and through for years. Then I made a friend when I was 10, and every single night we'd play until morning. So many mountain dews and chips ahoy were consumed... he'd always choose the girl and equip the spear and me the main character...poor sprite was always ai controlled but we'd make sure to equip him with the best stuff. Pure lands was hell! Good times. Fast forward 29 years and I'm sitting at work writing this..... and before I came into work, you know what I was playing??? You guessed it! Secret of mana. The remake, but with the original music. I'll never get tired of this game
00:00 What the Forest Taught Me 01:20 The Color of the Summer Sky 2:20 Fond Memories 3:17 Into the Thick of It 6:23 Phantom and a Rose 8:00 Spirit of the Night 9:49 Ceremony (Thanatos Ruins) 11:04 Eternal Recurrence 13:03 A Bell is Tolling 14:41 Now Flightless (Flightless Wings) 15:58 The Little Sprite 16:20 Leave Time For Love 18:10 Monarch on the Shore 19:07 Prophecy 21:14 The Dark Star 22:32 Meridian Dance 24:27 The Wind Never Ceases 25:52 Fear of the Heavens 28:35 Whisper and Mantra 29:42 I Closed My Eyes
Wow. Amazing Work. Secret of Mana is my absolute and undisputed all time favourite video game (I finished it around 30 times and am still playing it at least one time per year). And one of the most amazing parts of the game was this fabulous music which gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. And you just nailed it. So many thanks to you and all the amazing people which worked with you on this masterpiece of music
The transition to I closed my eyes is amazing. I picture a campfire setting where my weary corgi travelers and I are safely camped somewhere on our adventures.
I like "Symphonic Fantasies Tokyo" SoM arrangement better. It's Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, hard to compete with. There's also a recording from the original Cologne concert, I need to buy that record sometime soon. I'm glad this version exist tho. it's airy and bright.
@@maintaint3003 I tried giving that a listen, but in my ears, Rebecca wins without a doubt. I would say that if one prefers the super bombastic neo-romantic kind of music with a lot of choir singing that's in a lot of movies and games nowadays, that's the version people should check out. However, I feel that's way to overladen and generic, and I think this version has more heart. As you said, airy and bright. I hope @RebeccaETripp will do more of what she did in this arrangement, using guest musicians that plays real instruments. I gave some of her other arrangements a listen, and the lack of acoustic instruments were obvious in some of the "epic" orchestrations. This arrangement has more depth and life because of that.
Actually un fucking real how good this is. 100k views? FUck me, deserves 10mil+. Brought these compositions TO LIIIIIIIIIIFE. Brought. Them. JUSTICE. Thank you thank you thank you.
Reminds me of playing this on emulator with a friend of mine from school. We called the MC ''Billy'' ad let the AI control that character, ofc we didn't expect a lot from him while we abused the magic system. However on school we always had this inside joke when we needed to do a cooperative task ''It's cool, we'll let Billy tank the essay'' etc. Needless to say all other kids knew we were (unmotivated) nerds and just brushed it off, but we had a blast and that's a memory to cherish.
I don't know if you will ever read this comment but I just wanted to say I love this entire medley. There's something about Secret of Mana that makes me think of spring. And living in Alberta I especially look forward to Spring. Sometimes when Winter's seemed to drag on a little too long and I listen to this medley and think of spring. It helps lift my spirit often.
Thank you. The game reminds me of summer! But a little bit of spring, as well. I associate it with memories of walking around town in May and June with flowers growing all over the place.
It is not only the score but the love, which you have towards this game (and its music), which is totally appreciated by me / us! I can hear it through every note in the arrangement.
Wow. Listening to the Secret of Mana score since release and since the first days on RUclips,.. but that's by far the absolutely best orchestral version of this score. I am so glad I found this one today. Thank you and the whole lot who was a part of it.
Rebecca, it is so sad they didn´t pick your remakes and arrangements for the remake. Really, honestly your versions sound a thousand times better and are absolutely touching. Thank you so much for your great and astonishing work! Much of love
It's been 25 years since I played this. When "Prophecy" started at 19:07, I actually teared up. The most beautiful song from the greatest soundtrack in gaming history

The flute the chimes, every last measure is flawless. You guys truly nailed the celtic and innocent theme perfectly. I only wish and pray someone makes a music mod for the Secret of Mana remake with this theme. I would buy it instantly
This is breath-taking. Bringing back so many childhood memories, and the music is performed so beautifully. Really really good job on bringing all of this together!
At a loss for words, so I'll just say , superb. Makes me remember the sense of wonder that once stirred in this child. Felt a few things I didn't think I would feel again.

So from an organizational view this is miraculous. then we listen to the sounds and smile away. Blackie was very happy.... Very proud and happy father.
Thank you, Dad! Yeah, this is quite an undertaking! I don't know what possessed me to work on something this large in such a short space of time! Still, it was worth it, even if it did tire me out a bit! Now for a week of rest (in Hawaii!).
Thank you so much for putting this together. It was not only beautiful to listen to but took a nice, soft, nostalgic angle on all of the arrangements. Most orchestral arrangements for Square music tries very hard to be bombastic or programmatic sounding, but this was just some nice emotions and reminiscing on the game's most prominent locales. Loved every minute, and will listen to it again and again!
Wow... literally got chills listening to this. Especially Prophecy, dark Star and Meridian Dance which were my favorite songs from the game. The only word that springs to mind is "AMAZING"
A soothing reminder of how much I love this style from the japanese RPG (not in favor of classifing by region). A huge fan specially of the second one, with more action related movements and OST. Worth the though and effort put into it for such time!

Wonderful work, bringing together music and curated images, but I have to get ready for work, now. The Hack RVA workshop club is always hungry for music for work time listening, so I've added this video to my list for playing there. Thank you. I visited from a link supplied by Rikk Wolf, of the Robot Co-Op channel, where they are playing through the 21st century remake of the game, from which this music springs. I didn't grow up with Nintendo, so it doesn't mean as much to me, but I still enjoy this. Thank you all. :)
Oh, haha! That must have been a nice starting point indeed! I'd wager you are (mostly) a happy soul if you like sounds like those ones the best out of everything in this!
Quarantine gave me the time to play secret of mana again and i can't believe the forgotten memories and happy moments it brought me. Now youtube suggestions have given me this masterpiece and my heart is almost bursting of nostalgia. Thank you for this masterpiece.
omg when color of the summer sky came on it's like going back in time... the relief of escaping into a town after intense combat... safe and sound :) thank you!!
Not gonna lie, I wept at the end. This is one of the greatest tributes I've ever heard. Thank you and everyone who worked with you to make this. It truly made me feel like a kid again!
It’s beautiful. Memories are beautiful and they are, what we are made of. Everyone has his personal legacy to certain soundtracks. Every time i heard these, i feel like drowning in nostalgia. It’s like my alcohol, where i forgot the present. Dunno if it is healthier. I don’t care anymore. Thankyou for this work of yours 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 it’s a great gift.

Such a magical score, infused with even more joy by your signature style, Rebecca, and the stellar performance of all of your collaborators! Brings me all sorts of emotions! I still hope this arrangement gets performed live some day.
I came across this wonderful work of art and that warm, fuzzy feeling overcame my heart and brought back so many fond memories. Now I'm getting my SNES and old Panasonic CRT TV out of storage and giving my favorite game its first playthrough in many, many years. Thank you for the inspiration.
Finally got to listen to this all the way through! Wonderful arrangement, Rebecca! Every moment has such beautiful orchestration. It was a great pleasure to be involved with this; thanks so much for having me aboard. Cheers to all the other collaborators as well! :)
My fave rpg franchise growing up. I remember "Into the thick of it" as being the best digital version of an acoustic guitar (for 1993). It got stuck in my head all day in the 7th grade. All I cared about was getting home and playing SoM with friends. Thank you so much for releasing this.. brings back such fond memories ❤
This is so great! I'm listening to this at work and I want to do a new SoM fan art but...i can't... lol This is one of the best SoM medleys i've listened to in a while. Good work! Right on the cusp of the remake's release!
Excellent work. Thank you for sharing this! I found "Ceremony" to be particularly magnificent. It definitely creates the sense of unease that should be felt in these dungeons: Thanatos is crazy, the dead linger, tomatoes are trying to kill you, and somebody keeps ringing the damn ceremonial bells.
Simply amazing! The original has always been one of my favorites. I love how it still conveys the emotions of the work properly. To be honest I think I like your version way more than the remake's.
You make amazing music Rebecca, keep up the awesome work! I listen to your stuff a lot when I'm doing paperwork. Makes it feel a little more like playing an RPG!
at some tracks i had to shed some tears , because i got some memories at a most beautiful childhood with my family and friend who were alive at that time. now time has changed a lot. god bless u all
Thank you for this. Really. My daughter is only one year old, but I can tell you that she is going to enjoy your music, hopefully as much as I do. The music and all the illustrations are really an immense tribute to this beloved game from my childhood. Again, thank you. (I just wish you`d make some parts longer :), and too bad that you did not include Still of The Night)
Thank you so much! I have a very long cover of "The Still of the Night" on my channel if you'd like to hear. :) I also have extended versions of some of these movements uploaded! :D
Many things were missed out. 30 minutes of music is no small endeavor, though! That being said, Whisper and Mantra and Mystic Invasion are siblings. ;)

You may laugh at me, but the arrangement made me cry. It brought some past memories of my brother and my childhood.
I think it's important that we feel these emotions more directly, sometimes!

Finally got to listen to this all the way through! Wonderful arrangement, Rebecca! Every moment has such beautiful orchestration. It was a great pleasure to be involved with this; thanks so much for having me aboard. Cheers to all the other collaborators as well! :)
Cheers. ^_^v
Fantastic! Thanks everyone!
Thank you as well! ^_^
I love how authentic this is. I think I prefer these versions over the recent remake. Great job! 👍
Thank you! :)
18:37 Secret of Man
*WOW* What a great collab! Projects like this are always a ton of fun to make, good job!
Just absolutely stunning.
This is so great! I'm listening to this at work and I want to do a new SoM fan art but...i can't... lol This is one of the best SoM medleys i've listened to in a while. Good work! Right on the cusp of the remake's release!
I've never played the Secret of Mana, but always liked the music! This is also really awesome, nice work!
Thanks. ^^
I'm going to be listening to this to just get amp'd up for the release of Secret of Mana this coming 15th.
Oh man, this is beautiful. No, I'm not crying, why would you ask me such a thing? (I'm totally crying! And that's ok!) Well done!
Simply amazing! The original has always been one of my favorites. I love how it still conveys the emotions of the work properly. To be honest I think I like your version way more than the remake's.
Thanks. I've been hearing that a lot. I haven't played the remake so I guess I'm in for a surprise.
My favorite video game soundtrack of all time
Just in time for the remake! You get special props for covering my favorite game of ALL TIME!!! It was a joy to listen too!
Thank you. ^_^ I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D
What a great youtube chanel, you give credit to the compositors and also to the digita artist, it´s great to have persons like you
I'm so happy for this arrangement! Once again, your work (along w/ everyone else) is spectacular.
With the HD remake 2 weeks away, this is PERFECT :)
Thank you. ^_^
Really digging the into the thick of it remake.
I'm in tears, this is just beyond any remix/cover I've ever heard. Thank you for all of your hard work.
Thank you too. ^_^
This is such amazing quality! The orchestration and arrangements - really taking these classic tunes to a whole new level!
Great work! Keep it up!
Thanks a lot! :D
What an amazing piece of art. Teared me up almost instantly.
You make amazing music Rebecca, keep up the awesome work! I listen to your stuff a lot when I'm doing paperwork. Makes it feel a little more like playing an RPG!
That made me smile! ^_^
at some tracks i had to shed some tears , because i got some memories at a most beautiful childhood with my family and friend who were alive at that time. now time has changed a lot. god bless u all
I'm glad you could reconnect with those times.
Listening now! Yay new music from one of my absolute favorite games of all time!
This is great. This is really great. Thank you
You're very welcome! ^_^ Thank you, too!
What a wonderful thing to wake up to. That's about as good as timing can get. Thanks for the medley
Thank you. ^_^
Square recently released a new version of the game, a remake, on Steam. 3D, voice acting, the whole shebang. Did you get a chance to play it?
I absolutely love this! Congratulations on successfully bringing this all together :)
Been jamming to this the last few days while making art, thank you so much for making it!
Tears of joy for so many beautiful tracks
I love this! this arrangement sounds as if it sprung straight from the world of mana itself... if only mystic invasion was on this list as well :(
Many things were missed out. 30 minutes of music is no small endeavor, though! That being said, Whisper and Mantra and Mystic Invasion are siblings. ;)
