Well, the Donkey Kong Country 2 Epic Orchestral Medley is finally here! The original soundtrack of DKC2 was composed by the brilliant David Wise. I don't think I've ever taken this long to complete a medley before! (I've been pretty busy this year!) I think my favourite movement in this medley might be Disco Train! What is yours?
These are the tracks I included in this medley:

After all these years, I still think that DKC2 has the best soundtrack ever produced for a videogame. All the themes are still stuck into my head !
I agree
agreed. Absolutely sublime
Ocarina of Time and DKC2 are tied in my opinion. Both are amazing
I don't know if it's the best, but it's definitely top 5.
These tunes are so atmospheric.
And always will. It came straight from heaven.
You did an amazing job with this!
I still believe this is the greatest video game soundtrack of all time.
All hail David Wise! All hail DKC2!

Thanks! I used Ableton Live, Eastwest, Garritan and Noteworthy.
Súper cool 😎
You can upload the album of the songs separately, Please!! I take advantage of and say Hello from Mexico!!!
The transition from Forest Interlude to Stickerbush Symphony is sublime. The way the strings soar until they reach that alarming peak does the original justice and then some. Congrats on this.
Thank you so much!
Stickerbrush Symphony is my favorite song from DKC2. I like the way the chords change.

whut? i am too stupid to get it
I just made the N Zone comment because that's the gap between dimensions in FF5 and the timestamp you gave me leads to nowhere, haha!
Maybe you wanted to say 4:59
99 is out of time range :)
This orchestral version of Forest Interlude is an absolute masterpiece. Thanks for this! (Congratulations from Brazil)
This medley is 102% perfect
:') Even the extra coins?
@@RebeccaETripp All of them!

13:50 In a Snow Bound Land
This song is very strong, I close my eyes and I get to see myself with my ten years playing DKC2. The soundtrack of this game is a journey back in time, thank you David Wise for your work!
I do think so dud .. 😌
@@RebeccaETripp But this remix made me imagine myself as a fish submerged on a river.
In a Snow Bound Land one of the absolute best ice themes in gaming history 100% Top 5 or even Top 3
I love DK. My favorite game of all times. Including the song's that marked my childhood!!!

Literally one of my favorite games of all time. This collection instantly takes me back to my childhood.
On another note, why aren't Dixie Kong and K. Rool playable characters in Smash Bros yet? Nintendo come on!
I see you (like in Avatar)
You'll probably know this already, but you'll be glad to know K. Rool has made it into Smash.
1/2 is fine right
@@urosasin8979 We still need Dixie though.
@@himalayansaltopus Nah, we need both of them.
I've been crazy for this medley for 5 years now and it still brings so much joy when I listen to it
Very glad you're still enjoying it! :D
Absolutely amazing work
Thanks. ^^
So many memories.....Best videogame OST of all time
Stickerbrush Symphony is a bloody masterpiece!
It's actually "Stickerbush," not "Stickerbrush." Don't worry; I thought it was Stickerbrush until _very_ recently 😅
@@ZhangtheGreat I've never noticed that before lol
It always has been, and always will be

It's a good thing the kong clan has so many amulets of water breathing
these melodies make me cry with emotion, remembering my childhood
I'm so glad everyone feels the way I do about this music. It's more than music, it's soothing, creative, and a great credit to the game, especially Stickerbrush.
Very significant part of many of our lives!
@@RebeccaETripp This is the beautiful side of social media :)
The Stickerbush Symphony made me want to cry
It's one of my favorite songs. It makes me tear up when I hear it. I like the way the chords change. 😊
Hmm 9:50 sounds familiar. I wonder what song it is
holy hell that transition from web woods to stickerbush was elegant. well done.
Thanks a lot!
Aunque haya faltado Gang-plank Galleon, las 5 canciones que amo con todo mi corazón son: Flight of the Zinger, Mining Melancholy, Forest Interlude, Stickerbrush Symphony y In a Snow bound Land 😍
Kaptain K.Rool dislikes this video lol
He's always on my channel- him and the Golden Skulltulas.
such a timeless classic.
it is and as the others mention why doesn't this have more likes and views?
This is ridiculously good - 'In a Snow Bound Land' almost had me in floods of nostalgic man tears.
Amazing work. Just amazing.
Thank you! ^_^
Your transition are LEGENDARY, its feels real smooth, better than DJ are rave. I dont like comparing, but Finally a mix than changes BPM ! Its fresh and variable. Very good job !
Thank you so much! :)
Es PRECIOSO! ❤️😭
Wow . . . This is amazing! You make stunning music! This is _so_ nostalgic! I remember playing this back in 1995! That was almost 20 years ago today! I was only about 12! I play DKC1 every year when autumn approaches, and I play DCK2 too, just before winter, because that's when I got it so long ago for the SNES! Shortly before the holidays! I remember finding everything, and it was challenging at first, but it became so enjoyable! I got really good! Memories! Thank you so much!
DKC2 is a jewel among jewels. ^_^
Rebecca's not trippin' with this. Good stuff.
Woah Rebecca, I'm really stunned from how good this remix is! Truly amazing job, you got a new fan
Thanks a ton! :D
Forest interlude....oh god.....i cry
Fuck, now I want another one with some of the tracks you didn't cover, because this is fucking glorious! Although slightly dissapointed about the lack of Boss Bossanova, Crocodile Cacophany, Primal Rave, and my personal favorite track, Bayou Boogie.
Well, I'm 100% going to do a standalone Bayou Boogie. It's actually one of my favorites as well. I just, for whatever reason, couldn't fit that track anywhere in this medley and keep the flow.
The Mining Melancholy / Kannon's Klaim is specifically great. Good on this.
Thanks! :D
This is amazing. It's funny because it's from a video game which I loved as a kid. But you never think of music composed for video games to be genius. The quality by RARE was ahead of it's time visually but auditory too compared to the other Snes games. But also the music for it, even thought it was compressed and well you know like videos game music are. Compressed and lower quality. I knew from the beginning when playing the game, how advance the melody was. Like the composition of it. Like if brought to life with real instruments and not compressed and high quality, it would be amazing. Like this is beautiful music. Very well composed, genius composer and great job by orchestra bringing it to life. I wish there was one for the final boss battler, I always loved the melody to it, because it started calm and jolly and then turns heavy with the drum beat or would be if brought to life and the climatic, drama sound. But an electric guitar needed for that part which is probalby why you didn't add it for this orchestra
QUE BESTIALIDAD DE BANDA SONORA, SOLO RARE LO PODIA LOGRAR
Nintendo needs to remaster the trilogy like Sony did with the Crash Bandicoot series and use these for DKC2.
Great work! This game was a huge part of my early childhood, so seeing something as well put together as this makes me happy. Thank you.
^_^ I'm really happy to hear that. So glad you enjoyed it.
This game was a huge part of my early childhood TOO.

Stickerbrush symphony gives me goosebumps and tears in my eyes. Excellent work!!!!!
Love this!! The Forest Interlude and Stickerbrush Symphony sections are just gorgeous.
Wow... Absolutely stunning work. The original soundtrack is a masterpiece and this remix definitely does it justice.
Krool disliked this.....it's the only explanation! This compilation is AMAZING! I love it! I don't have a musical bone in my body so I truly appreciate the hard work put into this.
Then he sent a lot of krems in to help him out.
Grande tu padre
The pictures in this make me hope that one day there is a virtual reality version of this game and that one day you can go through the levels like you are actually there. One day :)
this is tooo much for my feelings,,, nostalgia strike me down ...
They are tears of strength.
Subscribed! Wow! Amazing! I just started my own vg music channel of my own! It's so fun! You're inspirational!

Gracias! ^_^
The Forest Interlude section is so beautifully orchestrated, not to mention all the ambience noise added..well done!
Bramble Blast stay the most beautiful music on video game, your version is the best, congratulations.
Thank you. ^_^
Well...my life is complete now
This is fantastic. Captures the mystery and adventure of Donkey Kong Country 2's soundtrack while remembering its melancholy and grittier aspects. 10/10 I've got a new work jam.
Hey, thank you! ^_^
Stickerbrush will always be my favorite theme. So much nostalgia everytime I hear it. This game is also my favorite of the three :)
me emociona esto.

DK2 was the best DK
Amazing orchestra!
This has such a classical, yet timeless sound to it...especially "Jib Jig," which sounds exactly how music at sea should.

It's one of mine too. I'm glad I grew up with gaming when I did. I couldn't imagine being a kid now, looking back on these games and saying "Nintendo sucks, This sucks" "CALL OF DUTY!!!!" "SHOOTGAME!" "GRAAAAAAAAAAAAPHPPPHIIICCCSXXXX"""
Sad but true :(
kannon's Klaim is my favorite. Love this feeling.
That was always my favorite as a kid.
I don't know why, but every time u upload a new video I'm acting like a little kid on christmas lol. I love everything u do even tho I never played DKC, that doesn't keep me from loving this. U are amazing
That's very nice to hear. Thank you. ^_^
OWWWWWWW THIS IS EPIC SO MUCH

Realy the best Music ever
This completed a major part of my childhood. EPIC.
Man when i was kid this was my first console my parents got me, it was the DKC2 edition snes and this game was so amazing, the only thing that sucked was I lost the manual to the game when i went to wal-mart with my mom and when I got to the second world I had no idea on how to control the hot air balloon. After some many endless attempts I had to lay the game down, until emulation came, this was probably one of the first few roms that I downloaded and finally beaten the game.
This gave me chills.... Amazing piece of work!
Beautiful! Especially your version of Mining Melancholy was true to the original and a great update in one.
The nostalgia is strong in this...and I've never even touched the game!
Your transitions are as great as ever. The whole journey flows splendidly.
This may be my favorite of your medleys yet. CB
Thank you!
That's actually perfectly possible. It's a subtle and nuanced experience, but it happens to many people every day. Sometimes a person can vicariously absorb the aesthetic of something they weren't really part of and get a vivid sense of the emotional impact said thing might have had on similarly minded people. This can also happen when something is reminiscent of an era in general, enabling the mind to easily fill in the gaps. It's actually a well documented phenomenon. On a technicality, maybe it's not literal nostalgia, but "vicarious nostalgia".
It is understandable if you disagree, but there is no reason to mock others. There is no reason to give answers to someone with no questions. We are here to enjoy Rebecca's hard work. So I ask that you apologize for your rudeness and we can be friends, or otherwise go away.
That is because the game masterpieces of old had good soundtracks, with soul. You are probably relating to that. Most of the music of today's good games feel generic. For example, they awarded Doom which is pretty much your average heavy metal song (and I like heavy metal). Nowadays, with some exceptions, I can hardly make the connection between a song and a game if it's not the main theme.
You've never played the game, and yet it feels nostalgic to you, as it does to those of us who grew up with it. My friend, there's something special about that!
Wonderful! Reminds me of 6th grade and those cold December nights playing SNES.
When it came to the music of Donkey Kong Country 2, David Wise certainly hit it for 6 when it came to making the entire soundtrack a Pirate Island Adventure theme.
Each stage perfectly resembles the area of the world that Diddy and Dixie have to explore in their quest to save Donkey Kong from the evil King/Captain K.Rool.
