Kate's beautiful auburn hair stole the show. Your sherd section is brilliant. Keep well.
The small metal piece with the ball on the end is a pen clip!
I love how you can turn discarded things into wonderful things for your dolls houses. You two have inspired me to create a 1900s 3 story dolls house from an old radiograph, I'm about to make furniture... inspired by your finds and your very cute dolls😊
Awesome! Are you making your house on youtube? These ladies inspired me to start creating miniatures on my youtube channel.
@@TaraFinlay 🙂 hi, no I haven't a you tube, I do amaze myself at how much mess I can make when I'm in the creative mood😂 what about you? Do you have a RUclips?
@Patrice Ratahi I do. I am an art instructor so I need to share all my exploits!
I also make a tremendous mess!
I’ve subscribed to you. Bring on the doll house!
Keep your 1/2 charm you never know one day the other 1/2 might just show up!! ❤🤞🏻
I'm really enjoying 'Sherd Stories'. It's so interesting to find out the background story associated with your pottery finds.
You two have astonishing visual memories. Not many people could recognize tiny broken-off glass cat haunches.
The lens looks like the planet Mars. Would make a gorgeous pendant.
I love you 2!
Absolutely love watching you find such wonderful treasures.
Another fantastic mudlarking adventure! A tip for stamping - try placing your paper on top of a mouse pad or another cushioned surface before stamping. Also, standing up when stamping helps you apply pressure.
Beautiful finds, just a quick reminder that with the type face pieces, some of them will be blank, to allow for the spaces between any words being printed. Thankyou for sharing all your exciting finds. 🥰
Love those little glass animals!
My father was a Spitfire pilot in WWII. They moved all over the place as units lost and gained personnel.
the brownish one looks like a teddy bear❤
Thank you braving the cold to bring us another lovely interesting video
The strange piece of metal that looked like a thistle reminds me of the brush in a companion set for a fire place. Great video as always ladies.
I wanted to suggest you could take the 3 lobed key part and the broken button and make a hanging wall pocket planter for the doll house. Just a thought, deb
Love, love, love all your wonderful finds.
When inking, it's a good idea to put down a foam pad or even a cushy towel underneath the paper you are printing on so that when you press down on the stamp, it can press into that pad or towel and make a better print.
Well done wonderful finds, love the history! Kate ,your hair color is so beautiful. Thank you Ladies for sharing
Just a tip: if you back your paper with felt or cork board, your stampings will come out better. :)
Absolutely look forward to your video's. Totally love you guys and your friends Northern Mudlarks. Two amazing mother and daughter teams. 💝💝💝💝
I love the sherd stories. I’ve always been drawn to crockery sherds from a very young age - I still get a buzz at seeing blue and white. Who knows why, they are so common! But I still pick them up and home they come…. What a tantalising mystery the typeface sentence is 🤔
I love your videos, but especially love n enjoy the Sherd Stories… Happy Mudding..😉
I so enjoy watching you two find treasures.. But your round up makes me smile hearing you two talking like best friends.. Thats how my daughter and I talk with each other and I love it. Thank you.
This was absolutely delightful to watch! I think the two of you have the most magical way of making me feel as if I am right there with you sharing all of the major find excitement and the minor broken finds disappointment. Thank you so very much! God bless!
Broken finds but still treasure. The trade bead, so happy and sad at the same time. ♥️
Good grief I remember traipsing to the Naafi when my Dad was placed on a ship in Devonport ,we lived in St Beaudeux. It was quite fare as our house on the base was on the far edge and we had to more or less walk to the Center of the estate. The good old days when you walked everywhere .They had all sorts of things in there .There was some cool finds today.I think the small bead was pretty as well as delicate. It’s always nice to go with you and enjoying your finds. Thanks Girls 🥰
So funny. Usually I watch videos just on the whim and don't care. But you upload and I'm like running to somewhere quiet so I can watch it with all my attention and feel apart of being there. Love em
I save theirs for relaxing!
@Juney Shu yeah. I'm at work usually when they upload it so it's my relaxing time as well.
Hello to my favorite larking ladies!! ❤❤❤
1st in 1st served. Happy day's from are Steven loyal following 😀 😊 xxxxxxx 👍
Hello and Thank Yous 😊🙋♀️
Put a piece of felt under the paper and then try the stamp--- may work better than a hard surface. Junk journaler here.
Another wonderful mudlark once again 👌😊 loved all the finds and bits of history 🥰 thank you both ❤️😊
I love sherd stories!
Some interesting things you have found today, I love the things of history, your half a button reminds me of those flat back vases you hang on a wall to put flowers in.
Ooh, they could use that button to make one of those in the dollhouse! Great idea, Joan!
A “wall pocket”…good idea!
Looking at those post office bags and seals that are square you can use them as roof tiles for your doll houses.
The first animal I thought of when you showed the little "bear", was that it looks like a koala 😊
That's what I thought also!!
Hello 👋 from New York USA you Guy's found Some Amazing Finds my Favorite Definitely Was the Little Trade Bead and the broken piece of N.A.A.F.I Sherd Thank you for Bringing me Along with you Guy's I can't wait to see What you Guy's find next 😀 😊
Make the key head into the back of a chair for the doll house
That’s exactly what I thought! I was hunting around here to see if someone already suggested it and here it is! I was thinking it would look like the back of those funky Austro/Germanic wooden chairs that look like they were cut from slats of old wood. Great catch!!!
You could use the #2 on one of your dollhouses as the house number. You could use the melted glass lens as a planet and put it on the wall in the study. You could use the long metal piece laying beside the marble as a little broom for one of your fireplaces (like part of the fire tools for a fireplace set of a brush, poker, and a shovel). I am sure you can craft the other tools and the stand.
I love your videos and the history of your finds is really interesting
Have you ever thought to use a simple magnic stick for small items, save you time. Love your videos and always look forward to next one.
You say it... naf ee not nav ee. When I was in the forces, about 10:30am the naafi wagon would come round and park up in car parks etc, for 'naafi break'. They would sell, tea coffee and cocoa along with cakes tea buns, butties, crisps and sweets. There was always two lovely naafi ladies who looked after us I think they made most of the cakes and butties themselves... Oh and the best sausage rolls in the world. Forces personnel owe a great debt of gratitude they kept us sustained and supplied us with the ever saving cuppa!
I love all The finesse but the glass Animals are my favorite!!!
Relied on the NAFFI (pronounced naff-ee) as a military brat on bases in such places as Singapore, Hong Kong & Germany. We were able to get UK items from soaps to fish sticks at reasonable prices which would be mixed in with local produce & goods to help us in isolated outposts around the world. Very much a needed institution that by my time wasn’t involved with providing entertainments… more like corned beef & English books & older newspapers. Also, in the 60s it def. was opened to all ranks. Great find. I wasn’t even a germ of a thought back at that date. Thanks for the memories!
How is Oscar doing? I haven't seen him in a long time! Is he getting to the teenage phase where he balks at participating? Miss him!!
Love "walking" around with you ladies and your music is hauntingly beautiful.
Thanks for the run down at the end, culmination of your wonderful finds and your explanations. I look forward to your videos every week.
I am 1942 vintage myself, I enjoy all the tiny bits of then. I, perhaps cut my teeth on one of those or had the wee people ride in my matchbox Army bus. Now after a transient life as a single parent; I have none of my treasures left. The memories are clear and sharp when they come, so no loss. Still a bit of carnival glass or a shard of wedge wood can evoke a lilac tea with a sister in the Sun porch.
Beautiful memories. Keep well. The best of British luck to you.
Your little piece of metal that you thought looked like a thistle, I thought looked like a broom.
I thought it looked like a koala bear. ❤
Woww..my 2000 Like for you two🌷🌷
Great finds today💖Luv you Guys Bunches💖
That piece of metal could be a torch!
That lens would make an awesome "stained glass window" in a dollhouse! And, that one metal bit that you said could have come from some jewelry would make a nice bucket handle.
I believe that is the nose piece of a pair of glasses!
..or maybe the top of a scale
I love your typeface. My moms parents met at a local newspaper where my grandfather was a printer and my grandmother set his type. Watching the two of you exploring together makes me so miss my mom. We would have had so much fun doing the same. Enjoy every minute together ❤
I really appreciate how you see beauty in so many random things. It has encouraged me to stop and look a things differently and thoughtfully. Thank you.
The one metal piece with the hole in the end looks like a broom to me. Just the right size for the dolls house. Or maybe as a witches broom for your Halloween display.
The little piece of metal with a hollow tip would make a great broom for the doll house. Just add a little straw to the hollow end. At 1805 I think.
That glass charm you bought looks like a koala bear.
As usual a lovely lark. I loved the glass animals you have found through the years. ❤❤❤
Another awesome lark with some super finds. Take care and thank you for sharing 👍🙏❤️
It's like we're all on a walk w/ you-I love the cat's eye marble-my favorite
Coincidentally, I was eating a frozen dessert while watching you on that Frozen beach. Felt like I was there with you!
So many interesting finds. I think my late grandfather would have enjoyed your channel a lot. He was an antique dealer and a junker at heart, he loved old items and collected lots of things. I have some items of his collections still. Seeing you stamping with the type face made me recall one of his collections, old advertising stamps. May have to dig some out. Also old locks and keys were another of his favorites. I love watching both your channels. Hugs to Sunny cat and God bless.
The "metal thistle " could be a broom for the dolls house
what fabulous treasures!!!
Hello! Yay! A new video! Off to watch it now...❤️
Great video! I'm so fond of cats, (Hi Sunny!), that I squeak with excitement over your cat charm collection...sad about the broken bit, but it IS a gorgeous color.😺
i squeak at Sunny, too!
I love Sunny too.i always look forward to seeing him.im a big cat fan as well.sadly im too old to keep one now.
I absolutely love Sherd Stories! Very interesting finds… the long typeface is a beautiful thing ✨☺️✨I have never seen one gold like that. It looked really cold ladies, I trust you had a hot cup of tea upon your return. Lots of love!🥰💐🥰
I think the little "bear" charm that you bought is actually a Koala bear? Love your videos. It's my daily Zen. 🙂
Ladies, thank you for the new video, Wonderful as always! And a blessing to see everyone healthy and feeling good again, cold but good😁🙏
Just a thought, you both find such nice pics of glass in huge array of colors. You also find lead. Have you ever considered making small stained glass windows for your doll house?
I'm sure people would love them too, it could be the focal point of any room.
If you do try please be careful, lead is nasty stuff to work with, especially hot🙏🙏
Fleur and Kate, I wondered if you had any concerns about the amount of lead that you handle in your mudlarking and crafting. I do find it admirable that you pick up all that you find in an effort to decrease the environmental contamination, but are you ever concerned for your own health? It probably wouldn't hurt to get a blood test to find a baseline. Another great video. I look forward to every upload on this and your other channel as well!
I often wonder if disposable gloves should be worn in case they cut themselves
I have thought about the lead also…it is definitely a health hazard and should not be disregarded. ❤
Lead should not be inhaled or eatem I know, but to touch, idk.
Lead has to be ingested to do harm. Handling lead can be a problem, but only if lead dust is picked up by the fingers, and then the fingers are put into the mouth. Given that these items have been in a river, I doubt there's any threat from dust. And of course, lead is primarily harmful to growing children - far less so to adults. Millions of people have handled lead in the workplace without any obvious harm. There is no need to be afraid of lead when handled.
@@JonFrumTheFirst Thank you so much for this info! It has eased my mind tremendously. It has been something I have been thinking about for a while…👍😊
Metal "thistle" would make a great broom for the doll house!
Lovely finds as always ❤😂😊
Entertaining and educating as always! Thank you Ladies!
You can paint your mail bag seals like little books for a shelf
I so wish my local beach was this amazing ❤️
Just what we needed on a hot and muggy Sunday here in NSW, Australia. Lovely trade bead Kate, those eagle eyes of yours don’t miss much. Enjoyed the shard segment Fleur, highlighted the fortitude of people in those hard times.
From Oz also. Tassie. I beachlark locally and have found some beautiful old pieces from around the world. My best piece would have to be a frozen Charlotte pudding doll!!! Would be over 100yrs old and rolling around on a local beach for 50 or more years.
Wonderfully calming, joyous videos you two create! Your love of discovery and joy of history is infectious. You are such a delight!! love Sunny cat’s saunters as well btw ❤️
I love the NAAFI story
I remember watching Are You Being Served and in an episode Mrs. Slocombe referred to Captain Peacock as having been in the " navvy" which I didn't understand. I didn't know why is was an insult to him. Thanks for that!
Keys! 💙
That little blue heartbreaker looks like the backside of a cat, making it a Cat-ass-trophy. Hope that isn't too rude, but it was my silly first though when I realized it was from a glass cat.
Love te type face big 2 it will look lovely in the study on the wall or on the desk. Some interesting bits of metal on that lark. Shame about the broken turquoise (SP?) animal.
Dear Fleur, I heard you mention `the other place is lost'. I presume you mean a bottle dump location or similar. Hoping it's not that beach with all the pottery shards etc.
Another great video from you both. It is always a joy to watch.
That metal piece with a ball on the end reminded me of the clip on a pen or pencil.
Have you thought of making a Adams family doll house for Halloween with your little crepie broken dolls I think it would be great
Awesome as always lady’s 🤘
Thannk you.
Great trade bead and so much type face! That ceramic cap is nice as well 🤔
thank you for taking me along with you, i quite enjoyed it, though oddly, i wasn't at all cold! ( it's actually 18 degrees below freezing in my part of new mexico.)
I've got the heat roaring, it's 2 below 0 (Fahrenheit) here in "balmy" Minnesota, USA!
@Crystal Crannell-Moberg Yikes! i live in a crappy RV...single digit nights are brutal! You Northerners are so very tough.
i remember a week, years ago, when it was below 0. i was living in a school bus at the time....thank goodness that's rare here. Hope you are staying warm! Your weather is evil cold way more frequently than it is here, i don't know how you endure it. (i grew up in south Texas, where it seldom freezes)
@harridan I hope you're staying warm enough! I've lived here almost all of my life, but the older I get, the less I like it! At least our homes are usually well insulated...I spent 2 winter months in Australia, and though it never got below the 40s, they had no insulation. 7 blankets and a space heater kept me going. : )
Wow excellent
Naafi is a weird one to pronounce, in the Army for 10 years , growing up in N. Ireland I always pronounced it NAFF -EEE . Wish I had my little Tv/Radio/Cassette combination , swapped it for a 70's boombox still have it......keep on larking ........ great video's
I’m from Connecticut, USA! Lol
Miss your videos.
Maybe , if possible, you could visit someone who makes historical beads would be interesting to see. Since beads are a theme of this channel.
Lovely little treasures, Thank you my lovelies xx Teresa 🇦🇺❤
Blessings to you. The gas price rise has hit us here in California now, its sad.
Lovely finds ladies
If you find the rest of that key, I need it to get back into my house. Its cold outside here in Watertown Connecticut. Ive been looking for it .... Thank you............🤣
