Great playing of these selections from “The 8 Little.” Although there has been much debate in their authorship, it can’t be denied that they are well crafted little gems that serve as the foundation for most serious organ students. I learned them in high school almost 40 years ago and still use them for recitals, church services, and for teaching. Thanks for sharing your recordings!
@@christianmayermusik4919 Du spielst das Stück in einem sehr angenehmen Tempo! Das gefällt mir sehr gut. Ich denke, das wird das nächste Präludium, das ich angehen werde. 😀
@@christianmayermusik4919 it feels like you’re really trying to play with emotion and thats why youre using tempo pauses. The fugue is the one this is heard the most. Its just my opinion, but as iv’e been playing this for a while i believe that this piece should be played in a mechanical and non emotional way which keeps the flow and tempo the same
@@christianmayermusik4919 BWV 558 is from the collection known as "8 Kleine Präludien und Fugen", BWV 553-560. Anyone who knows the style and quality of the keyboard works of J.S. Bach will recognize that the works in this collection are not by him. Nearly all scholars are in agreement these works are not those of J.S. Bach. Arguments have been advanced in favor of Bach's pupil Johann Ludwig Krebs, his father Johann Tobias Krebs, Bach's eldest son Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, Franz Anton Maichelbeck, Johann Caspar Simon and (most recently) the Bohemian composer Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer. Having played keyboard works of J.C.F. Fischer, I recognize his style in BWV 558.

Oh God… the tempo…😢
🤷♂️ What's wrong with the tempo?
