One manual, 2/3/4 etc manual pipe organs - You just bring out the innate hidden flames of the organ that has been there waiting for an organist like you to light up and spellbindingly mesmerize us the beauty of it’s grandeur. Truly it is a gift to hear you play the beauty of this simple yet colossal sounding instrument. Maraming, maraming salamat po….
So perfekt traumhaft schön.
Wow Paul the setting for your left hand makes it sound different in the prelude - great and the full use of stops at the start of the fugue is so refreshingly different: this is you at your very best Paul.BRAVO young friend.
Another "hidden" gem to be marked for multiple replays! It is amazing what a rich sound an organ with one manual and limited stops can produce. Am hoping to hear more from it (them). Thank you for this, Paul.
Bach, Mozart, who is "the best." It doesn't matter. I love Bach so much how could I not listen, how could you not give an excellent performance? Thank you Paul. I kinda wish for a miracle, that being to see you play in person, not one, but many pieces.
That much too short piece reminds me of Dicken's Oliver Twist looking at food in the workhouse and saying - "Please sir, may I have some more"? My thoughts exactly! From Chicago, U.S.A.
Oh, how great is this, Paul ! ! What an awesome experience for you to play a Silberman organ ! I love the sound, I love this little Bach piece. A great video today. Thanks, Paul for educating us through historic organ performances.
Thanks for posting this. You really do bring out the best in an organ. Loved listening to this. I know that some people frown on small one manual organs, but this one really has a lot to offer.
Well Done again Paul. What programme or app do you use for your music on your tablet. Perhaps I need to start digitising and cataloging my music.....Would you consider doing demo on the eight short preludes and fugue by Bach? This piece is part of that little organist collection.
Thank you so much! I‘m not sure about the hz, but I think it’s a special Silbermann tuning. The Georgenkirche-Organ is tuned in equal temperament if I‘m not wrong 😀
That's awesome! I'm back in the US now, and I didn't make it to Rötha to hear or play the Silbermann organs, although I had hoped to. I should have stopped by on my way back to Leipzig from Altenburg:( I'm told these village organs are really loud. How would you say the volume compares to something like Hildebrandt?
Definitely let me know when you are in the area again - I‘m sure we can arrange something 😀 Yes - these are VERY loud compared to our usual instruments. I‘m not sure how they compare to Hildebrand because I didn’t play these yet 😀
@@PaulFey I suspected as much. So you have a double talent: playing the organ, and recording the organ! Maybe someday you could give us a little info on the equipment you use to record. And it's nice to see your little friends back where they belong!
Thank you, Ron! I‘m very new to the system and don’t have much experience if there alternatives out there, but I‘m using the forScore app to organize the sheet music. The app also offers a feature to switch pages with mouth movements 😀
Wonderfully done as always, but you look like a giant in comparison to the organ console. Random question, how tall are you (to put the size of that organ console in perspective)? I had to look up the date of construction of the organ: 1722.... wondering if the console would be original to that construction..... much shorter people!
It is a pity that normally "they do not focus, they do not show the pedal" because for someone who is interested in the organ, many of us need to observe, see and analyze how the pedal is and how it is in this type of organ, I hope that in the next videos instead of centering images of altars? better give some good approaches with the camera to the organ and especially to the "pedal", ok?
I get you point! The problem is that I‘d have to take a 3rd camera and tripod with me which won’t fit the already filled backpack and would make it even heavier. I‘m sure that there are many other BWV 558 videos out there including a pedal camera for reference. In these videos I‘m focussing on the churches/videography of the interior and the sound of the instruments instead of covering all angles of the console 😀

Superbe interprétation. Jeu simple et harmonieux. Bravo encore.
Thank you so much!
Beautifully played Paul. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🎹🎹🎼
Working on this, myself. The prelude is the first Bach prelude I ever learned on my own. Just started adding the pedal to the fugue recently.
Thank you for watching, Jake! That’s great, it’s a very beloved piece from the Collection 😀

I remember the difficulty I had when first learning this piece (especially the fugue). Super job as usual.
