This build is super interesting. Here in the UK the rx7 is stupidly expensive but there's 1000s of rxx8s which are less than 2000 dollars to buy. There just is so little support in the UK for rotary builds

I’ve dreamt of a similar sort of custom Renesis engine before, but with a semi peripheral intake, the 7’s peripheral exhaust ports, in addition to all the Renesis’ side intake and exhaust ports and natural aspiration. Dunno how that dream engine of mine would perform, but I’m excited to see what this engine will do with a turbo. Should be good! :D
what are your rx8 transmission solutions? by what i understand you're targeting 400+ whp in a renesis... assuming 6 speed, its the same gearbox as miata 6 speeds (AZ6), which tend to fail at/around 300-350whp. I've always wondered if they're somehow interchangeable, but if they're beefier units the idea becomes more intriguing to try doing.
I can't believe you got that entire turbo and exhaust setup from the Mazdatrix Hybrid build..... that's pretty crazy that they just sold that to you lol. The guy who was in collaboration with them to build that engine, a drift guy who builds rotaries, can't remember his name, but he's building another Hybrid that's going to be NA I believe

Love RX8 content, excited to see how hybrid build will turn out. We built series 1 engine with friends without any prior experience using Mazda manual, internet wisdom and new original parts. Made 190 hp on the dyno.
Love that your putting in work on the RX8. They look sick with a drop and a nice stance just like yours. If one would have a sick rotary to go with it you will start a trend amd see many others following with other builds. Opportunity to get Mazda attention and maybe factory support in one way or another.

You can get up to 200 at the wheels on a stock Renesis with a good tune. Interesting setup on the new engine, with both side-plates and housing peripheral exhaust.
I love rotaries but had to let my Rx8 go after the first day of ownership but ls1 coils intake full rebuild after blowing it up(hole on intake after flow meter)lol rebuilt it with rotary aviation apex seals used some 93 rew secret sauce stuff lol and my Rx8 lasted me over 5 years with pre mix and and unfortunately a rubber grommet from the radiator landed on the fan and it over heated but im 2j now but I can almost guarantee I would still be running on that rebuild if it wasn’t for that
