    Supplementary info/LN changes (A bit late, also long comment warning due to some clarifications, thoughts, reminders from S2, and a short history lesson on ‘Yobai’ and I reference things from KonoBakuen’s anime again.)
    4:13 - I miss Gumball, remember watching when it debuted (also, I’d like that virtual world and hopefully a MMOFighting Game, like Accel World happens, too, but I’d probably spend most of the time farming in the first town to max level first.) 6:04 - He has the Succubi Cafe, stolen a Not-Gameboy and games from the factory in the CD village (LN 5/movie), and can craft objects from his world and mass produce them with Vanir (though, he did make failed condoms in the LN, due to not getting the rubber right and Aqua and later Darkness mistook them for balloons.) 6:43 - Reference to KonoBakuen, where she said that to Yun Yun, but neither understood the romantic Explosions. 7:53 - Considering he tried to force Kazuma’s execution, force Darkness into his family, made Darkness do whatever he wanted for days, is a corrupt noble, and everything this episode, I probably would take advantage, too. 8:17 - Unfortunately LN 3 (S2) revealed that he’s been trying to get her for years, so I doubt anything could permanently deter him. 10:22 - She did in the LN and tried to free him, but couldn’t because Bind is Magic.
    12:51 - It’s more to show how different others would be treated by Iris in this situation and Kazuma is lucky (likely would be executed on the spot and all the nobles were a lot more angry in the LN, so Claire was less notably angry and more disappointed in broken trust again, for the 3rd-4th time to a supposed hero.) Claire is also her right hand woman, compared to Rain who is nice, but Iris used Claire more as a speaker and is closer to her despite her edge (Rain would be the Megumin and Claire the Lalatina, of her retainers.) Also, Claire was open to learn Kazuma’s techniques, no matter what they were/how small, because she wants to protect the Royal family and would teach her men, too, to stay up to date and each episode later she gets burned by him for each time she entrusts stuff to him (on top of getting her pantsu stolen, so I sympathize with her knowledge thus far.) 13:51 - She also sent countless people to this world, so it makes sense. Only one small change this time, with the ring joke being shortened (Mitsubishi here adds that the ring changes size, but not before Aqua makes it disappear with a party trick and she can’t make it return, so he despairs internally on this perfect and expensive ring and still praises her regardless.) Also, Katsuragi’s party members are off in another country farming levels and he mentioned the ‘bright light,’ which you saw in KonoBakuen.
    Additional things: Alderp is pretty much UB Noble Kazuma if he went too far with his perversions/authority (he lecherously looked at both Aqua and Darkness), as shown by the mirror scene, there is a short story/Drama CD where Kazuma went on an Explosion Date with Megumin, Chris wore an all black outfit, and Kazuma leaked his insecurity/jealousy of ikemen, causing his party to raise his self esteem. 15:58 - I’ve heard ‘yobai’ a few times because of twins I watch, so it’s funny to see it translated as that and not night raid/crawling (also, the LN was vague where he touched her, too, but the LN illustration showed him tickling her side/back.) 16:10 - That and yobai are a bit more different, with yobai being an archaic ritual (sorta) before the Meiji era, for young unmarried adults to find spouses, via the guy sneaking into their house and family tend to not say anything (some variations had only married women instead or only guys from the same village.) 16:44 - To be fair, the hammer’s owner died and Chris is Robin Hood here. 16:57 - This flows better in the LN, because the hammer didn’t exist and Chris only showed up the two times this Episode/chapter, so she never stole from him first. 17:21 - When I read this chapter (no spoilers, just original thoughts back then), I took it as Aqua sent who knows how many, so Chris was working for an untold amount of time and possibly recovered hundreds of them all over the planet, only now crossing paths due to Kazuma being abducted here and stalling/fate (seeing an opportunity for an easier steal, she asks him for help.)

    Kazuma could let Chris being arrested (maybe sentenced to death) and being presented as a hero in the castle, basically being a douchebag, but instead let Chris go, sacrificing his opportunities to stay in the castle, and then was bullied by his friends and get humiliated by people in the castle ending as a useless. At the end Kazuma is not that bad.

    By the way you said Kazuma came from the age of internet and now has to use his imagination but it's the opposite. He has access to the succubus shop so he doesn't need internet, he can "experience" whatever scenario he wants. I'd say that is even better lol.

      my head canon is that they were more concerned about releasing the right quality product, more than getting it out "on time." It's exactly on time as long as it stays S tier! True or not, it makes it a little easier to accept the extra time.

      Well, the lightnovel is great by itself, so really they just needed to follow the canon story and make it funny. Which they did.

      @@GuillermoSmyserIt was most likely because Kadokawa’s mindset was different until recently (which was when they later announced 2 Konosuba animes) and in the meantime Kemonomichi and Combatants Will be Dispatched! (the author’s other series) got anime adaptations, so they didn’t want to self sabotage the author. Especially since the author hinted at S2 for Combatants’ anime being earlier than expected due to Blu-Ray sales, but no announcement officially because Konosuba S3 and KonoBakuen was announced at the same time and S3 currently airing, to not self sabotage again.

    Not sure what the point of the Mitsurugi scene was... in the books/manga the ring can change size to fit anyone, Aqua then shows off a new party trick where she puts a napkin over it and makes it disappear. But it doesn't come back... at all. And that's the joke.
    But here, it's like they set it up but no punchline. Surely Mitsurugi getting it too small wasn't supposed to be the funny part here? Or maybe we are just supposed to be reminded what a chad he is/tries to be/thinks he is... I dunno.

      Maybe they cut the disappearing party trick part out so Aqua wouldn’t come off as too big of a jerk. Kind of like how they cut the scene where Kazuma used his Create Earth skill and blew sand into Aqua’s eyes in season 1. A very useful skill that comes back later but the show probably decided to skip because it would have veered into not-funny-I-kinda-feel-bad-now territory.
      I think that they kept the scene instead of cutting it out altogether just so Mitsurugi would get some screen time after all the mentions and also keep the VA on the payroll in case they need him in the future.

      In S2’s Running Hawk Kites episode, Darkness was hit by Bind from an Adventurer and it spawned from his hand/was magic, this episode showed it just appearing on Kazuma, and Sylvia’s Bind was changed from the skill to tentacles, so I don’t think they’re following skills 1:1 (even KonoBakuen E2, changed Light of Saber from a slash attack to a bolt of lightning.)

    It's very rare for me to comment here (i don't even remember last time i did), but even tho i really like you guys, i gotta say, your comment on Iris's bodyguard lady was a bit...extreme imo. I wasn't even surprise Christine to hate her (talking objectively here, Christine usually doesn't like characters that do or say things she disagree with - even in COTE she basically was mad at every character that popped up, so for her this is normal), but Kyle...idk man i think you should try to see from the bodyguard's POV. From personal experience, 95% of the time people INSTANTLY dislike a character that goes against the MC (i remember people throwing a tantrum bc of Serie in Frieren), but people NEVER try and think "why this character doesn't like the MC?" People think all characters in their world SHOULD view the MC as we see them, but just like in real life, that's not how it works.
    Kazuma came here, his party is a mess, he is disrespectful, he teaches Iris things she shouldn't hear for her age, he STOLE THE BODYGUARD'S PRIVATES, and most of all: He does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and was living as a king in Iris's castle....ngl, we might love Kazuma, but for someone serious as the bodyguard lady, this man did nothing to show he deserve to be here....that's how i see anyway.

    • @TheGenreVerse

      It's not about her disliking Kazuma, it's about her disrespecting the princess, publicly, after she already made her decision/opinion known. If this conversation happened in private, I'd react differently. That's Sergeant First Class Malone coming out there 😆.

    • @meliotablet
      @meliotablet 5 месяцев назад

      @@TheGenreVerse I think missing context from the LN plays a role here. One of those bodyguard ladies is Claire, she is basically from a noble house even more esteemed than Darkness/Lalatina's and while the King/Prince is away fighting demon king's army she rules the kingdom in their stead. Of course Iris is the princess of the nation but you don't leave a kingdom to an 8 year old without supervision. While princess outranks her she is the King regent so to speak, if Iris makes a mistake Claire's word is the law, she can basically overrule the princess. Claire thinks Kazuma is a good-for-nothing person corrupting Iris and because of that she overrules Iris's ruling here and she's within her rights, in other words she didn't overstep in front of her "Commanding Officer" like you thought.

    • @TheGenreVerse
      @TheGenreVerse  5 месяцев назад

      Again, if the conversation happened in private, it would be different for me. A subordinate can by all means bring up issues they have with a leader to that leader's face, but publicly and in that tone is very insubordinate.
      I am aware of the power dynamics with children royals, but they have authority and image is important for that.
      Plus... it's an ecchi isekai, I'm not that upset or bothered by any of this lol.

      @@ac7268Stated in the LN after the Dullahan/Beldia fight, (S2’s Dungeon episode) that Aqua can’t control her aura/it’s automatic, which is also why undead are magnetized to her. Also, in the LN, Kazuma replaced her alcohol with water, because he accidentally drank it all and she didn’t notice until Kazuma revealed it to her in LN 4/S2’s episode where she was in the confession booth, so it’s safe to say she can’t control her auto purification for liquids.
