They’re both the protagonist. They’re deuteragonist ones not more of a protagonist than the other. Certain arcs one gets more shin than the others but it just depends on where the story is going.
I would argue Momo is more focused on than Okarun. The story started from her perspective and we know more about her than him. There are arcs without Okarun but so far Momo has been present for most of the plot

The girl is doing Ganguro makeup, a subtype of Gyaru fashion.
Gyaru is a fashion subculture that's considered to be nonconformist and a rebellion against Japanese social and aesthetic standards during a time when women were expected to be housewives and fit Asian beauty standards of pale skin and dark hair. Its popularity peaked in the 1990s and early 2000s. They are also known for partying and clubbing, being rather provocative, being flirtatious, and generally being delinquents.
Ganguro is a gyaru style with artificially deep tanned skin and bleached hair, and makeup which tended to use white around the eyes and on the lips, and darker shades of color are sometimes seen on the eyes of ganguro. But white is the most often used eyeshadow for this substyle. Also, decorations such as glitter or flowers, such as hibiscus flower stickers, are added under the eyes. Basically takes the core aspect of Gyaru fashion and exaggerates it to a ridiculous degree. This style was popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Dubbed is so trash shouldn’t exist
not being able to understand Japanese inherently means you can't tell if the acting is good or not to the same level as you can with English voice overs. You still can to some extent, but there is a disconnect that prevents you from recognizing certain nuances in each performance compared to English.
Dandadan is pretty good with both versions, but other anime has "issues" with both, you just can't hear it when it's Japanese.

They're both main characters, but Mono is the protagonist. It'll probably become more clear as it goes on, but Momo despite having the least flashing powers of the cast is the one that carries the story forward.

Personally I watched both sub and dub and I genuinely like both versions. The English dubbed VA’s sound like they’re having fun and they do a good job. A.J Beckles does a really good job.
Yeah, we'll need to see how it is when the core cast gets a bit bigger, but so far the dub is just as enjoyable as the sub.

I've always heard manga targeted at young women referred to as jōsei, not seiji. Maybe they're interchangeable, or maybe I'm entirely confused on the matter.

I do find it kinda funny that for most of these types of shows, when boys are thrown around and hit ppl shrug it off as just cartoon physics/their power. But if it happens to a girl it’s suddenly unrealistic.

@@denickart Specially considering that Fujimoto is quite young for a mangaka, like, the guy is 31 right now and has been making manga for big magazines for years. He began Fire Punch, his first big work, when he was just 23, after making several one shots. All of his assistants were much older and experienced than him, but we also have to consider the possibility that Fujimoto inspired them to make their own works, considering how all of them started mangas after working with him.

they have/had 2 versions of the subbed and i think this one is being pushed on crunchyroll or whatever most reactors use but the grandma kept saying "Dong" instead of "weenie" and in the beginning when ken says "I know your in love" the other version he said "I Know what you're into" and stuff like that just made more sense for the context
This show is gonna be amazing, adaptation is perfection from the manga. The fan service will drasticly tone down but the weirdness will keep suprising you every single time. Don't know how, but the author somehow balanced so many genres in one. The chemistry between the two mc is soo good, perfect match!

The "Giant Door" is an emergency shutter for fires or other reasons they may need to close off a section or stairwell. All schools and a lot of buildings have them in Japan. They swing not slide in most cases. They create an almost airtight block so for example there is a fire in a hallway, once its safe you close the door to the stairwell and it prevents smoke and fire from entering the evacuation route :p

So, without spoiling, I will say:
I think she lived, because as you said she has her "chi" protection on that dampens the physical effects.
And he gets beaten often when he is partially transformed, which probably gives him some of Turbo Granny's durability.
And of course "Ken Takakura" was a famous Japanese actor IRL. She might have had crush on him, because she watched old movies (maybe with her granny?) and his parents maybe already had a last name of "Takakura" and decided to name their son after famous actor.
He has Tanjiro from Demon Slayer VA, while I know her voice from Lycoris Recoil.
And AFAIK, though I'm not certain, so don't quote me on that - first episode seems to be "gatekeeping" episode. Showing the "worst" that can happen in a series. In uncomfortable way. It basically says: "This is the ceiling of how uncomfortable it gets, most of the series won't be like that, but it can be as uncomfortable at times. Also shows that this is despite it being Shounen a show that doesn't shy away from adult topics. Though episode 1 is as explicit as it's gonna get. If it were more, it would have to be classified as erotica for adults - "Ecchi", which IIRC is how you pronounce "Latin alphabet" for "H". Which is used as a sign that it is "perverted" - "Hentai" in Japanese. I probably omitted one or two steps between "Ecchi" and now American slang word "Hentai", but this is approximately where the term comes from.
I really don't remember the Manga, when I was reading it, it was soon after it started. But I do remember (very generally talking about Manga) that characters are great and that there is a lot of action, but also a lot of character development. And it is quite wholesome despite having adult topics and having a lot of action. That's all I remember for sure.
I will have to re-read it. Either once Anime is done airing or honestly I want to read it whole as soon as possible.

Wow I’ve never been this early lol. I’ve never watched this so I’ll have to give it a shot. I actually don’t like it when people do this lol but I also have a show I’d like to recommend - The Untamed. Ive never recommended anything before but it’s a C-drama. You guys gave the first ep a shot once due to a request, but guaranteed, I don’t even like C-dramas and this is my favorite show to this day by a long shot even though I watched it 6 years ago. I don’t think you guys liked it so much but it was your first watch and since it’s a C-drama - different to other shows you guys watch - it would take a few episodes getting used to. It went absolutely viral in China and is the number 1 drama there - and went viral around the world too. The show itself is insane, deeply emotional and beautiful - I can’t depict it in words. The scenery, the action, the plot, the relationships, the writing, the music - it’s all a 1000/10. I truly and deeply recommend. Personally, I do not think you’ll regret it. Hope you’ll give my rec a thought!

Shounen = Young Boy/Teen Boy demographic it’s not a genre, just the demographic it’s aimed towards.
Seinen = Young Men/Adult Men demographic
Shoujo = Young Girl/Teen Girl demographic
Josei = Young Women/Adult Women demographic
Isekai = Means “Another World” a genre that refers to a story where the character is taken to a new world.

Just so you know an easy way to differentiate between the shounen(boys)/seinen(men)/shoujo(girl)/josei(women) : Everything comes down to the magazine that they are publish. If the magazine that the manga was publish identify its self as 'shounen' then every manga that they publish will be a shounen.
For example, 'Black Butler' is a manga created by a women known for making doujinshin aimed at women and that is mostly popular between women, however, the magazine where is publish is a shounen so the manga and anime are shounen. Another example is Precure(or almost any magical girl show) which is a shoujo but is extremely popular with men.

the biggest reason the manga stood up for me is because the characterization of Momo & Okarun... you have the leade female character having an equal mixture of strong & soft parts but doesn’t feel forced or preachy. You have the leading man having past issues & still not properly over it but boi does he have a spine to stand still if he gets pushed hard
