I left there in 1974 with my family, we moved to Georgia. It's nice to walk those streets again. All the businesses have changed except that movie theater at the end. I'm so proud to be from Huntington. Where I live now in North Carolina I know several people from Huntington.
Just in this short video, so many things have changed since then. I miss the Book Revue, but members of the staff re-opened a couple blocks north on 110, now called, “The Next Chapter”. And the old bank is now Aboffs’s Paint. Eduardo’s cozy European style restaurant opened up where that yellow storefront was, and a bunch of other things, some decorative, others business changes, have continued to upgrade the Town. Like the scaffolded builder with the “For Lease” sign is now a beautiful Daniel Gale Real Estate office. I saw my friend’s car parked and another business I used nearby, and I knew several of the people you passed too. I love it here, when I leave, it will be in a box or similar.
Between 1-2 miles south and there is bus service from there. But on a lovely day, it’s a nice walk. As soon as you pass the first block with condos behind a fence, you’re already into the stores.

Just visited with the fam today we were all surprised at all the stores, the cleanliness and overall great vibe.
I lived in Huntington from 1957 thru 1962 and have so many wonderful memories, great town!
Great video
