Going from blue to blond in a salon for £50-60?? I guess that’ll be a very cheap salon, not that specialized?? For that price, without knowing results from others, I’d be highly skeptical of what the result will be? Even though it would be more expensive, I would definitely choose a salon that is not that cheap.. for that price, I wouldn’t trust it without seeing results on other people. Even if you don’t have that much money. The chance of ruining your hair by yourself is quite big with a lot of people, most are too confident.. and it will often end up being just as pricey as going to the salon.

Similar yet different story. As a kid, I had a friend who wanted to dye her naturally red hair blue. So she goes and buys this one small tub of like premixed bleach stuff, even then I was like idk but I think this isn't enough for your SHOULDER length hair but she was like eh don't anyway. So here I am, trying to bleach her hair. Oh boy, did it come out splotches, like 6 different shares. Did she want to stop then? Nope. Said to keep going. I slap that blue manic panic on top and omg ...her hair turned like 6 shades of green and blue green. She was in tears, blamed me somehow, and ended up dying her hair black 😂

When I had my hair blue and wanted to get rid of it my hairdresser told me straight away that she could try and bleach it out and it might work but it would most likely destroy my hair. She suggested cutting off most of it and bleaching the little bit that was left and maintaining the little bit that was dead because it easier than trying to maintain a lot of dead hair. So I went from having hair down to my lower back to just past my shoulders lol. Never touched blue hair dye again just usually stick to pink because it fades quite nicely in my hair.
But at least the girl in the video didn't use coconut oil lol.

Bleach the roots only once every two months with 20 vol./30 minutes and it's enough, although I have naturally brown hair, which is very fine. If she had pre-pigmented with red, would that have neutralized the overt green, and allowed for a warm blonde shade to take better? I have done something similar for someone who box dyed her hair teal green and quickly regretted it. I used color remover to get about half of the green out and then used a red based protein filler to go in and neutralize what was left of the green enough so it would take a medium golden blonde with no drab green showing through. It looked good, but I warned her it would need to be redone periodically due to how much she had damaged her hair by bleaching and dying it, then removing and redying. I also told her to condition her hair and leave it alone in between. She didn't listen. 🤦‍♀ Love your content!!

😂😂 wow I honestly used to make some pretty bad mistakes when I was YOUNGER. But I’ve grown and learned that I can not do my own hair bc I don’t have that much knowledge about it. Also, my hair is REALLY hard to turn. Don’t know why. Seems like any time I’ve ever tried to dye it blonde on my own it wouldn’t ever turn that right color I wanted. It takes a few sessions for my hair and I have light brown almost dirty blonde hair now as an adult. When I was young I had darker brown hair. So now if I want blonde hair to highlights I go to the salon. Lol

It always amazes me when people baulk at paying salon prices. Going to the hairdressers is something I class as a pampering session. Hair dealt with by someone professionally trained which is reassuring. No messy home diy dyes and bleaches and hair falling out in clumps or hair left like straw, No hideous end result colours. Just sit in comfort at a salon and come out feeling like a new woman. Well worth paying for

I’ve not been to a salon in a very long time but buy professional products and pay my friend to bleach my roots and tone my hair. Saved so much n money and my hair is platinum blonde, thick and healthy. Some salons are just a rip off in my opinion.

@d Excuse me, I was not preaching thank you very much. It was a personal opinion, one in which I am entitled to make, and one that was not a personal insult to others who comment.
I am fully aware that many people successfully colour/cut/perm their hair at home just as I am fully aware many cannot afford a salon visit. I have to scrimp and save to pay for an infrequent appointment. It is my small luxury to myself.
This channel is a delight. Lets not spoil it by making undue unpleasant comments to individuals. You're in all likelihood a delightful person, your comment to me, however, was unwarranted.

@@fronny5787 I agree with you. I would never spend money in something that I know would end terribly for my hair. I'm not a professional and I don't want to end up having a nasty cut or a nasty color on my hair. I also save money to go to the hairdresser's and, like you said, it's a moment for myself and it's very pleasing. And I'm always reassured that I'm in good hands because I always make sure I go to a high-rated salon. 😊 (PS: I'm a student and if I put some money aside, I can afford going to the hairdresser's. I think it's a question of priorities.)

For a short time I bleached my undercut and dyed it blue. However, I don't really like the vivid colors so much so I put the blue in the bowl then added grey and silver until it looked like a smokey blue color. I loved that color so much but did not try it all over thank goodness because it's one thing to get rid of color on a short undercut, it's quite another to get it out of the lengths.

Friendly reminder that you can buy actually temporary hair color! It comes in sprays, pastes, waxes, and chalks! You can even find it in the supermarket, like Colorista hair color spray. These temporary ones truly wash out when you shampoo your hair. Personally, I'd just get a wig if I wasn't sure I'd keep the color for long. They can find a cheaper wig comparable to what they'd spend on products anyway. I've seen decent ones with 4.5/5 stars on Amazon for as cheap as $40. Similar to the temporary color spray, you can buy the root touch up spray if you need a natural color. Buy a few cans if you need to cover a hair disaster in a pinch.

Figured I'd start weatching bleach fails again =D and you are right its way more expensive than we think to do it at home because you run out of product or you mess up and have to buy something else to fix it. OR
    2. Go to a salon and pay professionals to get the blonde you wanted and save your hair.
    3. Finally......each choice will require a haircut in the near future. The hair will be damaged. The ends are matted due to chemical overprocessing.

I can't believe she refused to pay £50 to £60!! That is dirt cheap for here in the UK. I pay £250 for a full head of highlights and a cut. There is no colour correction required for me as I stick with my blonde tones - sometimes warmer tones and sometimes cooler, but always blonde. My hair is in great condition, looks lovely and feels lovely. I know not everyone can afford £250, but years ago when I was a student I used to get my hair done in the training salon at my local college of further education, all they charge for is the cost of the materials - almost every salon offers cut price "model" nights too when their juniors do their training sessions. I just don't understand why so many people take chances using chemical concoctions on their hair that they are not trained to use and have no understanding of.

I had green hair a few years ago (I also have green hair now - many times & a long time) Green hair or faded green (like blue hair with bleaching) is so difficult to get out or get away with that. It was a faded green & I dyed it dark brown - almost black & it was a mixture of blonde, gold, green & brown. So the green will definitely come back soon & it will look like my hair was.

If I get a client like that, with so much chemical damage and a resistant color in her hair. I’d pull out the pieces I want to make blonde, then I’d fill the rest with orange and then put a light neutral brown over it. When that’s done, I’d just bleach the highlights then color or tone them depending on how they came out. The highlighted look would have the natural summer look she wants but in a more realistic way.

I have never understood the attraction of bright colors for hair. It looks good the first week, if you keep up the styling. Then it looks awful and faded and trashy. It ends up ruining hair and costing a lot of money. Get a wig, get some colored extensions, or anything else. One thing is for sure...

I’d rather have a professional do my hair but for some reason every time I go to the salon my hair breaks off or clumps come out. I don’t understand because when I bleach my own roots I never lose any hair. I think they overlap too much. I say no overlap and they still go an inch or two further. When I do my own hair I only do it right to where the blonde starts..Or else it’s the foils. Idk but I have extreme anxiety about going to hairdressers now lol. Some people do their own hair at home because they keep having bad experiences at the salon.
