I'd argue that his looks are part of the effect too. He's not exactly conventionally attractive. He's got very distinctive features that could make him look too feminine or creepy or awkward if he was just an average guy. It's the fact that he owns his look and uses it to play compelling roles that makes it attractive. His success makes him look hot and his looks in turn further his success.
This is what I would do if I was an actor honestly loved acting but was too scared of this world and industry, social media and all but this guy gives us hope
