AMTRAN T6H-4523A Fishbowl tour

- We are at the bus depot for AMTRAN, which is the city bus company in Altoona, where we get to see one of the vintage GMC New Look Fishbowls as it comes out of the shops for a few minutes. I was given the opportunity to take some photos of the bus, as well as the other Fishbowls in the shop. We also take a quick ride from one end of the shop to the other. The bus, 158, is a 1976 T6H-4523A, and was originally from Montgomery, AL. Enjoy the sound of the Detroit Diesel, as well as the view of the last company in the US to use Fishbowls in regular service. These Fishbowls are used as school buses, to pick kids up from city schools in Altoona. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. At one time , our city had School Buses !! Some of the City Buses were turned into School 🏫 Buses !!
these are my favorite transit buses...i wish they would remake them !
wow I remember as I was growing up in Wilmington Delaware we had those style buses back in the 80's they were fun to ride.
KIds these days have it good. The school buses that I rode when I was a kid were either Fords or Internationals with either a Blue Bird or Superior shells. I wish the school buses I rode on were either Fishbowls or Flxibles.
Can you catch these busses again and do a vid? Love the sound! Lol I bet those 2 wheel chair seats in the middle of the bus rattle like crazy
are those buses still in the fleet?
why does the transit bus have schoolbus warning lights and stop sign?
Those lights are there because they are used exclusively on one of the nine school trippers that Amtran operates.
when will these buses retire?
All GMC Fishbowls were retired June 2018, not sure of the exact Date in June.
