I am 60 years old. A friend introduced me to the HU last year and their music has the flavor of the great power ballads of 1980's. I am glad I just picked up a new sub-woofer and I am going to use these guys to break it in.
No one member spoke. Everyone spoke as though an invisible talking stick was passed around. If that was spontaneous, I’m not surprised. It was just too smooth to have been “produced”. Love this world music. Huuuuuuuuuu!
Massive respect to the Mongols from a Slav. Some of my ancestors were in the Golden Horde, but I do not have any mongolian blood. Great music, it really awakens the warrior spirit in all of us!
I think discovering bands like these is made a lot easier in the modern times. Found out about them in a playlist on Apple Music. I can't imagine how I would have ever discovered them like 15 years ago.
Saw these guys live last week in DC. The crowd was going absolutely NUTS for them. The Hu are impossible to not LIKE. Between songs, DURING songs in their live performance, you could see their joy and excitement as they shared their unique vision for rock music. It was just something special. I can't wait to see them again! Got the album at the show... and I've been jamming to it non-stop! They are more than just their big music vid songs/singles. Give all their songs a listen, folks! Absolutely Amazing MEN !!! I am so glad I found them , the World needs to see this Men With Hearts and Souls And Meaning And Culture . They Rock ❤️❤️❤️
That they answer in Mongolian is just amazing, I love them more and more. They just seem like such down to earth, respectful, and enthused guys. So great. Such a breath of fresh air. Can't wait to see them live in Feb 2020!
I know the rest of my Native Brothers and Sister would love to see and meet! You guys stand for the same we are standing for... Love you guys; You Rock!!!!
Yes wonderful to hear these amazing talented men, wonderful how much talent and inspiration through themselves and their music is bringing to their culture, heritage and on a global scale. Bravo👏
Love these guys. Mixing traditional instruments and rock is blowing up and we all gain by it. Yoshida Brothers did similar for the Japanese Guitar shamisen. Keep inspiring!
Joshua Wigley, we were priveleged to see these guys in Glasgow recently, WHAT a fantastic night, not even in to rock music that much but YAY, HU HU HU HU HU, Amazing atmosphere Xxx
They're coming to the US, then Canada, then back to the UK they said. They tour a LOT. I'm planning to catch them here in the US. I'm sure you'll catch up with them somewhere soon! Good luck.
Love how seamlessly you guys blend traditional teqniques with modern styles. So glad you have an album coming soon...love all of the music of yours I've heard. Thank you so much for sharing your culture and musical talents with all of us!
I speak mongolian and their most important message was very powerful, so I want to try translating it a bit better: “Our most important message is, we want to inspire the young generation to love our nature and mother earth, to rally them to fight together against dishonesty/immorality, to give them strength to live in this wonderful world together.”
I just found out about them from an ad in Facebook of all places! I've been wanting to go to Mongolia for years, I've always loved the look of the people- especially the children with their pancake faces and red cheeks! Blessings to the HU from NYC!! 💗🌷🎸
The Hu. Great band. Hope to hear more from them the coming years. Nice to hear them talk. Mongolian really sounds like Japanese and soms feels like turkish..?
Definitely sounds more like Russian or some east European language than Japanese. Their writing is very similar to Russian, I think. But don't take my word because I am definitely not familiar with the east Europe and Russia area and culture
It sounds a bit like turkish but not really. It mostly sounds like that because both languages have vowel harmony and modern mongolian features many turkic words.
I have been strongly attracted to Mongolia for many years. I haven't visited there yet, but Mongolia is coming to me first, through this great band. I love their music and need the album badly.
Do you ever watch the Artger channel? They did a video on a traditional wedding in Kazakhstan. I thing there might be some historical connexions there.🤔

Have you guys heard of a Norwegian band called Intrigue? Short version is Sami joik isn't nearly as popular today as it used to be, especially among the youth. So a couple of guys got together to make a metal band, and focused on Sami joik. The result was pretty damn good, and a great way to make sure the Sami culture lives on. I can easily recommend looking them up here on youtube. For instance, look up "Intrigue eadni nieida". Awesome song, tons of joik. :-)
I think it's great. If you write Mongolia in google images, you get mostly pictures of fields and huts. Trying to use your music and lyrics to spread your culture and expand tourism + inspire younger generations of mongolians it's great. They look like super down to earth, NORMAL, gang of friends doing music. It's great.
These guys came out of nowhere and just took over the rock world! I suppose thats typical for the Mongolians.
