This video is AWESOME!!.....hate it when some folks talk about "culture appropriation"......it's through the sharing of our cultures...we gain a greater understanding....and this video is F ing awesome!!!.....
There's a big difference between culture appropriation and what is happening in this video/project. Here we can see how individuals of two different culturesmet together to make a project/art, they are equals and probably had important conversations about what they meant for them their traditions. Cultural appropriation is when someone from other cultures (specially someone privileged) and simply takes them without any thought or what do that cultural aspect means or signifies to the people that belongs to, plus makes it "cool" or "exotic" whereas the people that originally had it, are criminalized or down looked for the same thing.
This isn't cultural appropriation. Cultural appropriation is when it's taken and worn like a costume with no respect for the people it belongs to or the traditions behind something. This is cultural sharing because there is a mutual exchange of something incredible.
@@aideismm476 but i think thats the point. That *there is* a difference between cultural apropriation and sharing and apreciating another culture. That difference is respect and recognition. But there are people today who i gues are confused or just closed minded and dont see a difference. Ive actually heard people say that learning a different language is cultural apropriation. Or a mexican learning to play the bagpipes. As if its *their* culture and you cant even look at it let alone partake in it. And personally i think those people hurt the *real* cases of cultural apropriation. For example there is alot of it in america with our native tribes. And its not taken seriously, or as seriously as it should.

Me, being a direct Roman descendent: *feels extremely intimidated *
Didn’t the Vandellis displace the Romans?
@@mildanimal5967 lmaooo Those were Vandals, not Vandelli
AND Vandelli is half of my family's name, descendance is not equivalent to the last name given by your father. At least, to me, mother's bloodline counts just as much as the father's.

This is definitely in Hadrian's nightmares.
Sometimes it's interesting to be Hungarian. Our ancestors came from Sibéria but for hundreds of years we were nomads at the steppes than around 1000 we became a Christian medieval country just as the others. So when I hear this song it's a part of my culture but I could also could feel to be intimidated because the first Mongol invasion into my country was devastating. (Interestingly we almost won the battle despite bad strategic decisions and the lack of heavy cavalry (they was busy to chase another nomadic tribe which roamed the country) But fortunately the Mongols went out soon and we had time to learn from our experiences and the second mongol invasion was repelled just if they were as mosquitos.
Throat singing, bagpipes and drums!
This group has it all!
Weird, awesome spiritualness! This, and the Hu Band, have opened my eyes, ears and heart to a whole new depth.
Search youtube for "Hanggai" and "Nine Treasures" (or take a look at my playlists, it's the one with The Hu). I think you'll be pleased.

Which is Tengri and God too if you would say so.
Kayserili38ification yea I can see that let us all strive together.
Yes! 💜
@Kayserili38ification isn't turkish god is allah? mongolians worshipped tengri for 3 thousand years. Unlike turkish arabs.
this has a very weird (in a good way) feeling of a war spirit, and at the same time peaceful lifestyle. a collab between thousands years old, one of the most archaic Indo-European language holders, Latvians, and world's strongest conquerors, whom have defeated the Chinese thousands of years ago, Mongols. even describing this is beyond epic.
How dare you create this beautiful new type of music. It's going to be impossible to find more like this if you don't make more of it.
Agreed!
new ? this is older than your religion..
Wulfred I think maninredhelm is referring to the crossover not the two original music styles

This is INTENSE and I love it! Perfect D&D background music for boss battles, sez me. The drumming and the bagpipes along with the mourin khuur and throat singing is a perfect mix, I think.
Boss battle? I'd use it as a travelling song or something similar as that’s what the song's about 🤔.

This video is AWESOME!!.....hate it when some folks talk about "culture appropriation"......it's through the sharing of our cultures...we gain a greater understanding....and this video is F ing awesome!!!.....
underrated comment.
