Hi Kelsey, I’m recovering the cushions on a child’s glider. The original foam dry rotted so I cut new 2” soft foam in the same seat cushion shape. I have recovered these rocker cushions 13 years ago within an hour using fleece. Since I’m using thicker foam I am having a lot of trouble after I pin with puckering so I cannot sew smoothly. Can you offer suggestions? Thinking about using 1” soft foam and making it.easier.

Awesome! I bet they are going to be beautiful. Sewing when it is puckered and thick is really hard. There are a few things I would try. You can draw a line from pin to pin (wherever it is open and you have pinned it together) following the cushion shape, remove the pins and cushion, then sew along the line. You could also try sewing farther out from the cushion and pins. It won't be as tight, but it should still fit fairly well, enough where the cushion can't just move side to side. Lastly, and most time-consuming, you could make a loose hand stitch along the edge, enough to keep the cushion pieces where you want them, then sew along the edge with the machine. You can then remove the hand sewn stitch. Hope that helps!

@@faithfulacresfarmhouse Thank you Kelsey! I so appreciate your help! I was using Minky fabric and it only works well with flat projects. So I kept the 2” foam used fleece instead, and drew my line to sew on. One and done, for both cushions!
I love the envelope pockets you taught in the your video. Excellent! Everyone loved the glider. Including May 1 year old great niece.
Take care! I homeschool my child too. Amazing experience.
      Take care,
      Roberta
