  • Every once in a while, we get some crystal clear water days here in Southern California during the wintertime. Thankfully, the water temperature wasn't too bad, but with the slim chance of bigger game fish, we decided to target the local reef fishes. With clear visibility, we explored some of the deeper reefs that we've never really been to. There was plenty of life out deeper where we shot some opaleyes and california sheepheads. It was a solid day of diving.

      Thanks for watching! I’d say just lots of practice and going out diving as much as I could helped. Doing some cardio regularly would probably help. I also recommend the FII level one course. You’ll learn techniques, safety, science behind freediving, and it’s a good confidence booster too

      Yeah most people know about it I think. There are plenty of divers who have been eating fish here for 15-20+ years. Plenty of people eat lobsters from the port. Nowadays, there’s microplastics in most fish. I guess it all comes down to moderation and eating whatever you want at your own risk 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

    Normalize not taking Sheepheads, they get fished out and urchins destroy the kelp forest. Ffs man you literally explain my point

    • @CatchFishNotFeelingsYT
      @CatchFishNotFeelingsYT  8 месяцев назад +5

      No worries, I understand the concern. I usually just take only what I need and it’s just a handful every year. The year is ending, and I’ve only speared 3 sheepheads out of the whole year. They’re great eating and I’ll indulge myself once in a while
