Slapping your dough on the counter seems like a great way to get out some frustrations as well as to make some tasty bread rolls 😂
Haha definitely a good anger management tool 😅
Baking really is just as much science as it is a craft. I would encourage anyone here to learn about topics like bulk fermentation, soakers and rough puff pastry. All fascinating!
I just finished making a batch, they are amazing, soft inside and a little crunchy on the outside!! I'm so glad I found your channel at the right time, thank you for the recipe!
Your videos are awesome! One can really tell you put a lot of care and effort in them. Very instructive and pleasant to watch. Keep up the good work!
I love how u provide the science behind everything...never stop doin that! I love ur vids🌟
Thank you. I can taste it already.
Again, you’ve appealed to not only my science nerd self but also to my baking bread self! Sadly in the US fresh yeast is not readily available in markets. It used to be in 1950-60’s because I remember it being in my mother’s refrigerator. A quick trip to Amazon showed me one source you can order , but it is much more expensive than the dried packets. So, that said, I appreciate the ability to substitute the sachets. There truly is an amazing difference in homemade buns and bread….and having a plant based basic recipe is much appreciated! Thanks BH! Lovely to wake up to this in Nashville….🙏🏻🫶🏻
I think they used to carry fresh yeast at my local Stop and Shop In the refrigerated area near the yogurts… I will have to check it out and see if they still carry it
Speaking of cheap, I only ever use 1/4 teaspoon of dry yeast whenever making any type of bread or pizza dough. Allow it to rise double at room temperature, use a big fork to knead and punch it down (I use an old 4 lb potato salad plastic container and let it rise sometimes near-triple until surface bubbles begin forming), place into fridge overnight and tomorrow it's ready. It works as the no-knead method quick and simple, easy and fast. And, cheap did I mention that before?
Love that! Yes, it’s hard to get these days. Sometimes Eastern European or Scandinavian oriented shops stock it, but they’re not that easy to find in the first place 😅 Dried instant yeast definitely works well!
Really simple and on point video. Thankyou
Beautifully explained video... And yes... nothing like eating a warm bread slice....i always tend to eat hot bread dipped in butter...and iam in bread heaven 😍😋😋

I have some happy healthy sourdough starter. Is there a way that this can be used in these rolls? They are beautiful.
Absolutely! 👍
3:20 Hi Julius, I have a fan-forced oven at home, should I turn the temperature down by 20°C i.e. bake it at 180°C? The first time I made this I baked it at 200°C and it was becoming way too dark by the 10 minute mark, so I turned it down to 180°C, but the buns had become a bit too hard already.
And for all your recipes, should I be turning the temperature down by 20°C with my fan-forced oven?
Lovely video,

Seconded on a gluten free recipe! A lot of recipes with just the flour swapped out never turns out right, and other recipes come out too tough most of the time. I think he'd be very capable at making a good gluten free recipe!

Are store-bought burger buns not usually vegan? You made it sound like it's a vegan issue
Most buns in the US are enriched with butter or eggs and are therefore not vegan.
False. Butter and eggs are both expensive AND reduce shelf life. The vast majority of cheap burger buns are vegan as hell.
The title is misleading. All buns/ breads are vegan. It's flour for goodness sake.
Actually, at least in the US, many commercial buns and breads and some homemade buns and breads contain eggs and/or dairy products.
Burger buns are usually made from enriched doughs including eggs milk and often butter, none of which is of course vegan.
Consider doing some baking of your own before bitching about what others are doing.
I have all these ingredients in my kitchen... 🥹
