@@nissy9220 except the movie heavily indicates he isn't. Not only is Kreese able to easily point out the flaws in Terry's technique in the movie, Miyagi treats Kreese as a much more serious threat and mocks Terry instead of relentlessly attacking him.
The problem is that Thomas Ian Griffith is a trained fighter and IIRC is also a stage actor, while Martin Kove is very obviously just an actor, not a fighter.

This is still one of the most badass teasers I've ever seen in my life.
Its crazy how this show has managed to get better with every season..this was one of my favorite movies back in the day and they have done an amazing job with this show.

Yep, he's like Raul Julia in Street Fighter. The best character in an otherwise forgettable movie. It was an ok movie, the first and second movies where much better imo.

Mr. Miyagi isn’t great because he doesn’t really have a legitimate reason to not train Daniel. He just looks awful. Kreese is there. Mike Barnes is over the top. And Terry is Terry, you cant keep your eyes off of him. Also, I’d say Daniel is suffering from Rocky Balboa in Rocky V syndrome. Where he regresses into this dopey, dumbass. Terry carries the whole show.

Of all revival series, this is the only that got it right. Respect to the lore, hits all the nostalgia heartstrings perfectly, and still able to subvert expectations, and keep things fresh. This is a true passion project from fans for fans.
Unlike Mighty Ducks Game Changers. That show is 10% Nostalgiaba 90% Cobra Kai for tweens so disappointing how it's turning out.

@@NOMADcourier85 True, season 1 was a godsend, one of the greatest series of anything, absolute perfection and the ultimate template on how to remake/update anything from the 80's, season 2 was MEH, season 3 ....not as bad as season 2 but very average and for some reason they have decided to push Daniel's uninteresting daughter and that ugly chick to the forefront because....strong whamen. Meanwhile Miguel and lip who are far more interesting characters have been pushed to the back. MEH. Good riddance, it's become so average it's almost embarrassing to watch!
What's weird is when I first heard about it before the first season came out I thought it was going to be a disaster since it was described as an "action comedy." Then it wound up being just about perfect. Gets tons of fanservice in but not the expense of a decent story.

Some people just don't look their age. It also helps that Terry Silver's actor is quite a bit taller than Daniel's.
In Karate Kid 3, Silver had training, money, influence and a scary smile. One thing he didn’t have was wisdom, now he’s much older and wisdom comes with old age. I can only imagine how dangerous he’s going to be.

@@ChestRockwell24 No he said he was GOING to open dozens. Their intention was to spread the franchise after Barnes humiliated Daniel, but with the way events turned out, Cobra Kai got shunned, banned from the tournament and shut down. We're led to believe that all of the new schools never opened.

Let’s be honest, Terry saved Karate Kid 3 from being forgettable.
Thomas Ian Griffiths who plays Terry Silver was legitimately the only person in the original Karate kid movies who had a martial arts background before they started. He always looked like a bad ass on screen. Cannot wait to see him again!
3 was my favorite. Silver and Barnes brought real fear to Daniel. It wasn't about the tournament...it was about fear.
3 has its issues for sure, but Terry Silver carries that movie. He is the whole show. So him coming back is a big deal.

I love how the team didnt throw away the other 2 movies and acted like they never happened. They have incorporated everything. Really looking forward to season IV!! This is one of the rare Netflix shows that is fun and exciting to watch.

same, also in season 4 I hope Jimmy and Bobby appear to help Johnny and Daniel train and guide their students and kids plus apologies to Daniel for what happen in the past and realize both of them and Johnny that Mr. Miyagi saved their lives and of Bobby and Dutch from still following the bad teachings and bad example from Kreese and from ruining their lives and living with guilty in juvy and than in county jail for life had they killed Daniel during that Halloween night which is a fate worse than death, cuz that night mr miyagi didn't just save Daniel from sudden death , he saved Johnny, Bobby, Tommy, Jimmy and Dutch from doing something they would regret which is killin Daniel by beating him to death , they never thanked mr Miyagi, I hope Daniel takes Johnny, Jimmy and Bobby to Mr. Miyagi rehash the past and how they change and that now they redeem themselves in helping their kids and the rest of the miyagi do karate students and eagle fang students to be better people plus save the rest of Johnny's former students plus Tory and Robby from Kreese and Terry's bad influences

Years ago, when the news first hit that they'd be making this series, I only had one wish: that Thomas Ian Griffith would show up. So, needless to say, I'm thrilled! I've missed him as an actor so much, and I can't wait to see Terry Silver again.
Thomas literally.came out of retirement for this role. Netflix obviously has deep pockets and they certainly paid him a forture. It is only one season then Dugan will appear in season 5.
I just hope he's stayed in shape. Saw wrestler Lex Lugar recently and guy looks like someone pulled his stopper and let all the air out of him...pretty sad to see. Though I hear he was a prick so maybe that's karma for ya...
@@chaburchak I met Lex a few years ago at a local event, and he's actually a super nice guy. Signed an old NWO Wolfpac figure still in the package that I had. He had his demons with drugs in the past but it seems he has made peace with all of that. He looks the way he does because of a spinal stroke he had about 15 years ago.

You would really have to pay attention to understand. Also kresse called him on the phone in the finale. Can't wait for his return it's gonna be epic!!

If there’s anything I learned from the show is that they bring back characters with more complexity and they move the story forward. Can’t wait! The dialogue in this teaser speaks volumes. Terry Silver will make Johnny and Daniel's life a living hell before they even make it to the tournament.
