@@chrono733 There is adequate motivation for Hawk, but the writers did not develop it: in season 5, some of the characters (as well as fans) did not take into account the fact that Hawk deservedly won (although Miguel won all three points dirty in season 1, unlike Eli in the finale against Robby), so this is a great motivation for him to prove to himself and others, but the writers decided to develop more the line with Demitri, which, frankly, is completely uninteresting, since in season 5 there was a good emphasis on the trio Miguel, Hawk and Robby.

If Hawk keeps one of these & continues to learn & teach karate, I can easily see him achieve the rank of Master Sensei like Chozen.
