I have been in Eli (Hawk) shoes before. I know what it’s like to be excluded. After all the torment hate and being judged school gave me a wakeup call during middle school and 9th and 10th grade. Singapore American School (SAS) was one of the those places where people were very Judgemental and one percent of ultra rich and they sure acted like it.But In july 2010 after sophomore year was a huge wakeup call . I flipped the script by losing weight took up martial arts exercise often get more social but i still remained an outsider but im still proud of myself flipping the script and i always had to tell myself even i remained an outsider I have to be strong enough to take charge of my life despite me being excluded from the cool kids table
Johnny in cobra Kai: "it doesn't matter if you are a loser or a nerd or a freaky, all that matter is you become badass" Kreese in cobra kai: "get out of here, you don't have what its need to be part of cobra Kai"
Hawk (or i should say, Eli) was me in high school. I used to get excluded from parties, grad events, group chats, etc. However, one of the bullies stood out amongst the rest. Unfortunately, I didn’t learn to unlock my inner badassery until AFTER high school. In my fourth year of college, I gained a reputation as “Cowboy.” I changed my clothes, became more successful with women and greatly expanded my social circle. I wish this show existed when I was in high school because I would’ve taken away the message that, “it doesn’t matter how big of a loser/nerd/freak/social reject you are. You always have the power to be a badass. I am the cowboy.”
I hit puberty late so I looked about 10 years old at the end of high school, got no respect and constantly picked on and hearing comments about me, even into college. Anyways I started to grow and age, wasn’t quite there till I was 19/20. Went from 5ft 5 at 16 to 6ft at 19/20 and I lost my baby face. I had a big glow up and was getting a lot of attention off girls. I saw people from high school that were balding or fat and the girls I now had a chance with. My issue was all the stick I got for the way I looked really lead to emotional issues and suffered with major confidence and social issues now. I’m 25 now and I fell into serious alcohol abuse due to my mental issues and how I used to hate myself because people joked about the way I looked. I never reacted back then but it certainly built up inside until I hit a certain age like 22 where I fell off, getting into fights, blaming everyone while drinking myself into oblivion. Now I’m sober but I’ve lost a huge chunk of a social life and now I suffer from loneliness.
@@mast3rchief536 I get that. I was in my final year of college when COVID hit, and as a result, everything that I worked hard for (social life, a chance with my crush, etc.) for was seemingly taken away from me. It sent me deep into a depression, and even to this day I am fighting through it. The cowboy mentality taught me to keep persevering on the frontier. Its scary and there is danger at every corner, but it will be worth it. Just keep fighting. You got this.
@@rapbattlefan2008 same here pal, in 2019 I was at university and I had a top year but shame I didn’t appreciate it enough because I’d broke up with my first girlfriend the start of the year so it hurt and she was out of my league (probs not but in my head she was maybe due to bad self worth) so was gutted. I decided to take a gap year from uni and go travelling in Asia, had it lined up and Covid came along. I haven’t been the same since that time, I actually had some underlying issue that I’ve just got diagnosed for like ASD (like Hawk lol) and ADHD so lockdown ruined my attention span and the social skills I developed. I got addicted to alcohol and I dropped out of uni when before I was really good at what I did and passionate. Fast forward, I’m sober now but this year certainly has been the worst year of my life. Broke up with my girl start of this year (pretty much due to my alcoholism) which caused my alcoholism to get to its worst and then spent the rest up until now in recovery. It’s getting easier but I’m really outcasted now I don’t drink. It’s lonely road in sobriety but had to be done, just trying to set feasible goals and since I’ve made a bit of mockery of myself drunk to people and developed a reputation of an alcoholic as people said I’m a nice, sensible guy that fell of big time and everyone else is the audience, I don’t want that anymore and wanna “flip the script” to say fuck you to those people.
He was, but true to his character, he did have some good points despite that. Eli really did need to flip the script if he wanted to gain control over his life, and if it wasn't for Johnny and his motivation, he would never have become a champion.
Istg if Aisha didnt leave cobra kai then she could have been one of the best characters, maybe not the strongest specifically but man she is strong on the inside
Hate him or not, You have to agree he has the best character development on this show.
So true

Oka but Johnny was the biggest Ahole to Eli/Hawk at the start. Idc if he wanted to teach him something. That was low.
