SHARP Academy - SARC VA Victim Response

This 25 minute Army SHARP training video focuses on the role of Victim Advocate, (VA) and it’s primarily target audience is SARC and VA professionals. It is currently being used at the Army SHARP Academy in the 7 week Career Course and the 2 week foundation courses. Students experience a day in the life of a SHARP VA via a scenario where a VA responds to sexual assault of an Army Soldier. The objective of the video is to teach new SARC and VA’s about their role and best practices in the SHARP program, as well as to give them a peek into what it is like, and what it takes to do the job. The scenario story is fictitious and is supported with interviews of actual experienced Army SARC and VA’s who share their thoughts and experiences on being a Victim Advocate, to round out the visual training experience.
