It is now August 1st, 2019, and I still get chills watching this game after all these years.

Henson had Andrew Luck's skill set, except maybe an even stronger arm. Have to believe he'd of had at least a decent NFL career if not for the baseball hiatus.

+Wolvesq He took how many years off football and still made in in the NFL for a few years...he was an athlete that doesn't come around very often.

Shouldve never went to baseball. Wouldve been the No.1 overall pick over David Carr in 2002. It also boggled my mind how David Terrell dominated future long time NFL starter, Nate Clements, yet ended up being a complete bust.

Harbaugh wouldn't have the stomach to call some of these plays.. especially the naked boot for the win !

This was when the playcalling was gutsy and bold. It seems we're missing this...

there just seems to be a lot of slow buckeyes on defense in this game. then bellasari was the last bad qb OSU had. Krenzel was not great but ok, but Troy Smith and on......

@mysteryscience3000 Ohio State's day is coming. Every Buckeye fan here know's it's only a matter of time. We won't stay like this forever so don't count on it.

Twelve years later, you’re right! Two straight L’s for OSU to Michigan including their first loss to Michigan in Columbus since this game.

  • @jdruwitme

@Hossflex he didnt come back because George Steinbrenner, who was an Ohio State alum said he was tired of watching Ohio State lose to Michigan so he offered 2 million to Henson to play in the minors. Of course Henson never did a thing in baseball and when he tried to get back into football for the cowboys it was to late and he was terrible. Pretty sad story actually since it ruined his career.

I actually disagree on this one. Though Drew Henson had promise to be one the best quarterbacks in 2001 if he stayed, John Navarre came in a played just fine. They never really got their running game groove that year. Leading rusher was BJ Askew with 800 yards. Maybe if David Terrell stuck around too.

    • @edmerc92
      @edmerc92 Год назад +1

Navarre was rough in 2001. He wasn't ready. Defenses keyed on the run and it couldn't get going. With Henson, both the pass and run would have been better.

Didn’t Steinbrenner give Henson a baseball contract to lure him away from Michigan. Talk about mistakes, he would of had a much better football career than he did baseball.

Michigan has had so many great backs, but they go to crappy teams in the NFL that ruin them by misplacing or misusing them...

No, Gutierrez and Riemersma were both holders and neither one started at QB.
Henson and Harbaugh both would have fit properly...each had uncommon speed and athleticism for this era and offense type. Of course, the best fit would have been Antonio Bass, unfortunately.

  • @Ooftyman

Oh man... Perry AND Thomas. It seems I've forgotten how many great backs we had through the years because it seems only our QB runs anymore..

This was my contribution to Michigan Football "Bo" straight from your unwanted illegitimate son. I did NOT give Ohio State a 10 year war Steinbrenner fans. Sorry about 9-11 Drew Henson...almost.
