We were at this game. My buddy went to OSU, and as repayment for taking him to the Big House in '85, he took us to the 'Shoe in '86. Two of the best games I ever witnessed as a Wolverine. Later that night, PK Matt Franz was rushed to the hospital with alcohol poisoning.
I had the absolute privilege and honor to work as a strength coach with this team during the 86 and 87 season. got to know guys like Harbaugh, Vitale, Elliot and Kolesar very well. a very special time for me.
What happened to their strength now? Maybe you should go back and help them.

Even when UM was dominating OSU, especially in this videos era, I've always wondered if drunk-burger has ALWAYS been a Buckeye homer. Michigan just pounds the ball down these guy's throats all day and on the road, and you can hear Mush-burger's utter disappointment as the clock ticks away. McMurty's drop and Harbaugh's ints and this game was very close to being a blow out. Love watching Bo fight for his team on that 2 pt conv pass interference. This was my Michigan football era as a kid growing up in the mitten. I was a 5th grader at the time and everyday after school that fall, I was Jim Harbaugh in my backyard.
I know he's a Northwestern grad, but I always felt he was a Buckeye hater. That seems to be the popular opinion around Columbus.

Yea very different views Mike as an Osu fan,i was 14 and at this game as well,it was a close game,Osu the ones who blew that game,Michigan never dominated that day.Morris was dynamic though,we must have seen different games. But Love that Harbagh and his guarantee are now 1-7 vs his rivals,0-3 against Osu.

Cris Carter's 2nd to last game as a Buckeye. Hopes were high for Buck's '87 season. Many returning starters, then news reports surface Carter signed with agent Norby Walters.

Wish this would have shown the officials charging Ohio St. with a timeout due to crowd noise in the 4th. Watching as a kid, I remember Harbaugh turning to them and saying he couldn't hear. Delayed game for awhile until they finally penalized them. Crowd rule was terrible. Glad they did away with it.

Check out all those tight ends by Michigan in the 2nd half. Great adjustment by Jerry Hanlon (but don't call him the offensive coordinator) to go with a balanced formation and run to whichever side Spielman wasn't on. As much as I respect Spielman as an announcer he was an even better player. Until Bosa probably the best I've ever seen for Ohio State.
