I was at this game, and certainly you were either there or remember it fondly. This is my compilation of the classic 2002 matchup of The Game.
The Buckeyes entered this match with a share of the Big Ten title, a first ever 13-0 start in the history of college football, and a trip to the national title game on the line. All they had to do to secure a trip to Tempe was beat the no. 9 ranked Wolverines.
So what happened? I think you know the answer.

What a great day. Just remember the nervousness all week leading up to this one. Those of us who lived through the 90s know what I mean. Just awesome that TTUN has won a grand total of 2 games in the last sixteen years.
I've been to so many OSU games, including the 06 Michigan game, and nothing will ever top this one.

Nah, '02 was better. The 2016 game was just ugly and poorly played on both sides. '02 and '06 were the best OSU/UM games I have ever seen.
02 was better? The final score was 14-9. Hardly an offensive battle like 2006 was.

I love Jim Tressel. He was usually pretty stoic. Ohio state gets an exciting drive on Mich, the crowd is going crazy, and Craig makes a crazy pass to the end zone. Tres just sits there with no expression, lol.
Michigan fan here. This was one of the best games in the series--thrilling, well played, and the stakes couldn't have been much higher. OSU had a blessed team that year...
Hope The Game can be this competitive and exciting in the near future. Can we all agree on that?

When OSU recovered that fumble with 2 minutes left...one of the most amazing crowd reactions in sports history
I was pacing back and forth on that final possession though and held my breath on that final play. #26 saved our season with that INT cause if he wasn't there, that TTUN player catches that ball and takes it into the endzone.
That's a good one! Fwiw, my favorite is when Braxton Miller heaved a game-winning TD to Devin Smith to beat Wisky :)

Great coach, badass defense, discipline, awesome athletes,and a tough QB that wasn't scared of being hit...My favorite Buckeye team.
Thanks for uploading this. I never really watched college football until I saw this game. I was on CQ duty in the Army and the guys in the common area put this game on. I got to watch this while I was on duty and was immediately hooked on college football. It's a shame what Clarett did to himself after this season though.

What a game!!! I cherish this game and this season so much. So many close calls, yet so many joys! I think Woody watched us from above, seeing every victory being a struggle. Runs between the tackles, hard hits, great defense, and difference making special teams. I got to watch every game with my father which was special to me. I would like to thank ourhonordefend for all the great videos and send him an O-H all the way from Minneapolis. GO BUCKS BEAT MICHIGAN!
that 2002 season probably made me lose 5 years of my life almost every game was close, too close
I was at this game as well, C Deck, 30ish yard line on the west side. Most amazing OSU/Michigan game I've gone to (and I also went to the 2006 game...this was the better game and had a better atmosphere imo).
Couldn't get tix to this game but they opened up The Shottenstein center for ppl to watch the game on the score board. Was one of the craziest environments I've ever been apart of!!! PPL going F'n NUTS in there. It was AWESOME!!!!

I was in the southwest corner of the shoe, with a PERFECT view of the final interception. Best. Game. Ever.

Great game. So many great memories. I'll always say if that last pass hadn't been intercepted ttun would have beat us. After we won the Natl. Champ. My brother and I went to the celeb ration in the Shoe!!!

My daughter went to 3 seasons worth of home games while a student there. She started school when Urban Meyers started. In 2014 she texts asking. What’s a down ? She went to every game. But didn’t learn about football. And had fun

I was at this game. Section 11A, right on the goal line in the North end. I will never forget this day.
I met an Alum at a rest area in West Virginia who had an extra ticket. Best, and most rewarding Michigan game I have ever been to.

sorry but i'm a die hard michigan fan, but they're not the only team i pull for in the regular season. But this was the one of the best games michigan and ohio state played with each other. My analysis of the Game for Michigan: Called back touchdown because of Offensive interference (c'mon Edwards). Last play of the game Navarre should've gone with the inside route on the right, with a two handed catch and at least 10 to 15 yards of open field michigan wins the game. hold on i've got more
Look at WSU at #3...for all the close games, we blew them out. I think a lot of the critics forgot about that.

I believe the last game in the Ohio State/Michigan rivalry ended with a 77-55 OSU win in the Big Ten tournament. Or did you forget that basketball existed???
