By this time, DL was no longer a hard-partying group of young pups; no, they were a tested, dedicated group of true rockers, sobered by tragedy-----no booze, drugs, or all-night parties. ------No way. They were in top shape, & totally dedicated to giving the best show possible. ---------I respect that--------And, they remained friends, & welcomed Vivian, only asking that he be Vivian, not Steve # 2. ------------------------WolfSky9
Viv has stayed in the back seat for so long in DL that many people I think have forgotten just how damn good of a guitar he really is. This guy had some great stuff with Dio
Never the same without the late genius who had it all and who's song writing, melody, riffing, hooks and bends has enabled this band to tour for three decades the late great Steven Maynard 'The Riffmaster' Clark. This was his 'Kashmere" or TLFL. His use of his Kahler on his triple pick up truly beautiful LPs, or Firebirds can, will never be replicated. Viv is one of 'the' best guitarists in the game, DIO days evidence enough. But it aint the same. Listen carefully to the Denver concert In The Round, the distinct way Steve played. A beautiful timeless song.
YOU ARE RIGHT, AND STILL TO THIS DAY, GETTING VIVIAN CAMPBELL FROM A POWER HEAVY METAL GROUP CALLED DIO, WHICH DIO WAS FROM RITCHIE BLACKMORES BAND RAINBOW, THEN DIO, GOES TO REPLACE OZZY OSBORNE IN THE BIGGEST HEAVY METAL BAND IN THE WORLD BLACK SABBATH AND THEN DIO STARTS HIS OWN BAND CALLED DIO, WHERE HE GOT VIVIAN CAMPBELL TO MAKE HIS FIRST SOLO ALBUM CALLED HOLY DIVER IN 1983, AND WHAT A SUPER MASTERPIECE OF A ALBUM, EVERY SINGLE TRACK AND GUITAR SOLO FROM VIVIAN CAMPBELL IS ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE. BUT THAT TYPE OF POWER METAL WITH HEAVY RIFFS AND LONG AND HEAVY GUITAR SOLO'S, SUITED VIVIAN CAMPBELL, BUT I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND EVEN NOW, BECAUSE FOR ME, VIVIAN DOES NOT, AND I DON'T EVEN HAVE A CLUE, WHY HE WOULD CHOOSE THIS DIFFERENT TYPE OF GLAM STYLE OF METAL, IM SOO UPSET TO SEE HIM PLAY IN DEF LEPPARD NOT TO SAY HE IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH, BUT FROM THE BEGINNING HE SHOULD OF ALWAYS STAYED IN A POWER TYPE OF HEAVY METAL BAND!!!!!
Wow, I don't know what is more rare? This incredible awsome live concert video of songs in Milan from 1993 or the fact Phil is playing a Gibson guitar and not a Jackson? I would pay ten times the cost of a concert ticket for a Def Leppard concert that would play all these old gems like Gods of War, Women, High and Dry, and some great songs from Adrenalize like White Lightning, Tonight, I Wanna Touch You, and Have You Ever Needed someone So Bad. The last 10 years have been the same hits live.
No, He's not Steve, but he deosn't need to be, & that's a good thing. Viuvian stands wll by himself., & DL went on, better then ever. I saw them in '93, & was impressed by how at ease they all were. Well done guys. Wolfsky9
I bought the Hysteria album on cassette when I was a teenager in the eighties and I was immediately hooked on Def Leppard. This song is often overlooked but I love it.
Steve Clark... Nothing againts Vivian without Steve Def Leppard hasn't had catchy guitar licks or great songs, Phill is a great player but Steve just had that unique way of making songs catchy.
Is it just me or was he playing flower of Scotland in parts ??? Must be my ear but could have sworn when he's doing the octave bit it sounds like "glen to Glen" , maybe it's just me haha

great comment. Vivian I a fantastic guitarist 👍
Go Viv! One of the most underrated Lep songs.
My favorite song by these guys. But damn, Vivs solo though!!! That was amazing.
Definitely my favorite Def Leppard song of all time from a group of truly seasoned musicians.
Viv has stayed in the back seat for so long in DL that many people I think have forgotten just how damn good of a guitar he really is. This guy had some great stuff with Dio
Sav always had amazing custom painted bass

@@bobandjelkovic3530 Money, longevity, stability and no drama that is why he chose DL

They almost always play gods of war these days in their lives sets. I know it wasn't a single but It's definitely a staple.
That's right Phil is playing a Gibson...
Don't forget "Don't shoot shotgun"

Phil playing with some aggression...🤘
Phil actually plays in some of his side bands and it is too chaotic for my tastes but DL is his family and made him millions.
2021-------------RICK ALLEN ---------YOU, ARE THE MAN !
Q arranjo , q letra , q música
Def leppard é a maior banda da história do Rock ! ❤🔥🔥🔥🔥
Pienso que tienes razón por que te gusta al igual que a mi a la mejor agrupación de música, tengo 32 años escuchándolos y seguiré.
Vic's opening solo was hypnotizing, my favorite song of all.
Nice I have just seen myself many many years ago :-) great memories
Gods Of War WhiteLightning and Paper Sun my top 3 Lepp Songs
I was so hoping they would do this song during the 2019 shows in Vegas.
Great songs! Hope it will be back in the set for the next summer shows
Number one

The terreurs
is it me or does that"solo" sound eeriely like Steve Vai's " An Earth Dwellers Return" ?
The intro solo even reminded me of Steve Vais days at Whitesnake. He would play that long solo live
Actually the first 8 seconds is Brighton Rock - Queen. Listen to May's solo.
@@GSHYBR1D First 8 seconds is from Brighton Rock - Brian May - Queen
Great song, but why is the Viv's intro so cutted? So nice solo and the best part isn't in this video...
Is it just me or was he playing flower of Scotland in parts ??? Must be my ear but could have sworn when he's doing the octave bit it sounds like "glen to Glen" , maybe it's just me haha
i think they were high...... but.......anyway......
yeah, I pretty sure the stage is about 1.7 - 1.8 off the ground 😉
gostosos...
Wow, I can't believe that they trashed, the intro. Steve's, into is way better.
My god, those tragically un-hip light shows of heavy metal 80's, fucking hell, they were the worst
