I met him once back stage in San Diego on the tour with Styx & REO Speedwagon, I agree, he’s a very sweet guy, & humble. I’ve been a big fan of his since the Dio days, if he has a ego he definitely doesn’t have it on display, just has a great spirit.
Vivian's story is almost identical to mine. I had a cough for several months and doctors diagnosed me with everything from bronchitis to extreme allergies. Finally after about 7 months of different antibiotics and inhalers, they sent me for a chest x-ray, which showed a mass in my left lung. At first they thought lung cancer but after a CATSCAN and a needle biopsy I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Stage 2B. I'm done with my chemo and currently getting radiation. Vivian is an inspiration to me!
Man, Vivian's been battling with this for years! Talk about "in the fight". Keep fighting Vivian! You got to keep us stuffed with your guitar playing and writing and basically, the world need Vivian Campbell!!! Love you man

I sat next to this guy at a Neil Finn show at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles several years ago. I told him how awesome of a musician he was and shook his hand. He graciously thanked me and then said "if you really want to see something awesome wait till Neil comes out". He was unbelievably humble…I am so impressed by this video. I hope he reaches a lot of people with his positivity. Best wishes to him and to anyone who suffers from the awful effects of cancer.

Def Leppard is one of the greats. I had Stage IV Non Hodgkins. The chemo is brutal. So glad Vivian is doing better. The crazy thing is that people are living with cancer and don't even know it. I can relate to his symptoms. Be well Vivian!
Vivian Campbell has been one of my favorite guitarists ever since he started with Dio. His attitude in dealing with his health issues is not only courageous, but inspirational as well. And as far as the hair is concerned, I think being bald gives him a more modern and current look, "hip" if you will. Luckily his head is shaped such that he wears bald well. Hell, look at Joe Satriani. Now the two of them should start a band. Call themselves the Bad Ass and Bald Bandito Brothers. Much prayers, love, and respect to you V.C. You'll be just fine.

All the best Vivian! I hope your health is much better.
Best of luck to you, Viv. Keep fighting it, Mate! Great to see you are so upbeat about it all. I think that goes a long way in the overall recovery process. A very good mate of mine was diagnosed with Leukaemia (not exactly the same, i know) nearly ten years ago, and he got through it, thankfully! I saw you with Dio at Donington, in 1983, and a couple of times since (also with Dio), and you've been a a bit of a hero of mine ever since that day. Love your playing, Man! I will say to you what i said to my mate, at the time of diagnosis: 'You can fuckin' beat this shit, Mate! I KNOW you are strong enough!' Cheers for everything, Viv! Best of health to you, my friend! Never give up! Love & respect... \m/ (;o)

I know it didn't end well, but the Dio albums he wrote and played on are so good. Viv really kicked ass back then, just an amazing player. Good luck with your health.
