Gotta respect his attitude and strength through the difficult time, and his talk about vanity and his hair, that's real talk right there,,a guitar legend and a real human being, I wish him well!
Def Leppard is one of the greats. I had Stage IV Non Hodgkins. The chemo is brutal. So glad Vivian is doing better. The crazy thing is that people are living with cancer and don't even know it. I can relate to his symptoms. Be well Vivian!
Stratosfear12569 Doing fine, man. How about yourself? The guitar repair business is slow as hell this time of year. July is vacation month for people, & they're out spending their cash on the lake at whatever. Spent a couple nights at a lake house a friend of ours owns & lets us use free this weekend & actually ran into a guitar player renting the house next door & he had pawned a guitar for money to stay on the lake a few days. So right now, I'm just kinda laying back playing the old Les Paul & working on some recording......Steve

I met him once back stage in San Diego on the tour with Styx & REO Speedwagon, I agree, he’s a very sweet guy, & humble. I’ve been a big fan of his since the Dio days, if he has a ego he definitely doesn’t have it on display, just has a great spirit.
That's my attitude too. I'm a big fan of Vivian, since a long time. I have leukemia. But it doesn't control me. I have put the blood cancer aside and am happy about life. Every day, with the music of Def Leppard ❤❤❤❤
@@christinehuber622 awesome to hear! I saw them for the first time last month when they were in Orlando. If you’re interested I filmed some of my concert experience on my channel. Stay well!!!

I met Vivian back in the early 80s when he came down from Belfast to Dublin with Sweet Savage. Not only did he amaze us with his playing, but he was really nice guy. My very best to him and his family. He still inspires in many ways.
Vivian's story is almost identical to mine. I had a cough for several months and doctors diagnosed me with everything from bronchitis to extreme allergies. Finally after about 7 months of different antibiotics and inhalers, they sent me for a chest x-ray, which showed a mass in my left lung. At first they thought lung cancer but after a CATSCAN and a needle biopsy I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Stage 2B. I'm done with my chemo and currently getting radiation. Vivian is an inspiration to me!
Man, Vivian's been battling with this for years! Talk about "in the fight". Keep fighting Vivian! You got to keep us stuffed with your guitar playing and writing and basically, the world need Vivian Campbell!!! Love you man
Vivian, you look GREAT! And you are an inspiration--both as a guitarist/musician and a spokesman for lymphoma. I greatly respect and applaud you. And if I could tell you one thing, it would be, "Fuck the hair!" Who cares?! In the grand scheme of things, that is so incredibly unimportant. If anything, I have a great deal MORE respect for you now, with your current appearance, than I ever did before. And that's saying something, for my opinion of you has always been so very high. You have been one of my favorite guitarists for 30 years. Thank you.
Vivian Campbell has been one of my favorite guitarists ever since he started with Dio. His attitude in dealing with his health issues is not only courageous, but inspirational as well. And as far as the hair is concerned, I think being bald gives him a more modern and current look, "hip" if you will. Luckily his head is shaped such that he wears bald well. Hell, look at Joe Satriani. Now the two of them should start a band. Call themselves the Bad Ass and Bald Bandito Brothers. Much prayers, love, and respect to you V.C. You'll be just fine.

The medical staff at Craigavon Hospital called him "the Miracle Man"... Best wishes to Vivian for a speedy recovery. Hemp Oil might be an alternative to chemo.
Anti Law, No way. If he can grow it back, he should. He has great hair and it looked good, and there's nothing non grown-up about the way he had his hair, before. Either way, I'm glad that he's okay. Like with Bruce Dickinson's ordeal with cancer, I didn't know about this, until way after it happened.

I sat next to this guy at a Neil Finn show at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles several years ago. I told him how awesome of a musician he was and shook his hand. If it makes you feel any better - "Viva! Hysteria Live At The Joint" completely knocked me on my ass! The bonus Ded Flatbird gigs were equally as impressive. This band's energy and talent is still ferocious! Hopefully it can be captured on a new studio album soon. God Bless you Vivian!
