I’ve been waiting for a new quilt from you. I love to watch you sew while giving us tips. You are the best quilt maker on my phone and such a joy to watch.
I agree. Donna, you are the best and neatest quilter. Love the care you take with ironing and ensuring the blocks are square. I have learnt so much from you and your colour sense is beautiful. Wishing you and yours a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
Good afternoon Donna and all the "Jordan" family, It's so lovely to see your beautiful hands back at work where we know them best, you have been sorely missed. I love the baskets of flowers panels that you have used Donna, and with those blues and white borders framing each basket, it just looks stunning. Your second idea with that gorgeous flower and that varigated material in the purple/lilac family just looked beautiful and would look really nice in a little girl who thinks they are older than they are, bedroom. The curtains made from the variegated matching fabric could just turn it into a princess paradise. Thank you flower for coming back to us and bringing your wonderful ideas and magic hands and what they can create, they have hit the jackpot once more. Crafty hugs from Norah, Glenochil, Scotland
I have avoided panels because they didn’t inspire me. But you’ve made the most beautiful quilt from those panels! I love the tips for using other sizes. As always, Donna, your engaging style and helpful ideas encourage me to try something new. Thank you!
Ditto! I also struggled with how to do the math to make the borders match the panels, and failed miserably. This method takes all that yucky math out and it's so, so easy. Thank you!
This is a wonderful way to use up all those kitty cat panels I have! While I was waiting for inspiration to strike, I ended up with maybe 100 more cute cat panels! Thank you for this pattern!
Flange border, well Dah for me, that makes total sense. Pick up tips every time I watch your videos. Cup of coffee, silent house, early morning my time to video watch. Happy New Year and Thank you
Hmm. I’ve always avoided panels because they shift and can be a bit cumbersome depending on their size. Maybe I will try one again, Donna always rubs off on me like that! Thanks for another lovely vid, Jordan Fabrics Team!!
Great tutorial as always! I have learned 90% of quilting with you and your tutorials. As I’m only 3 yrs quilting. I would like to see a tutorial on backing of the quilt with yardage. I can’t always get 108 wide backing. Thank for being a great teacher and inspiration to all of us.
Robert Kaufman has a great free app called Quilting Calculator. It calculates the yardage you need for backing, boarders, binding, all of it. You tell it what dimensions you have or want plus overage if any (including the usable width of your fabric) and it tells you what you need. Including which way you piece your backing. Mine is for android, don't know if its available for Apple but I'm sure there are other out there.
Does it shows you how to cut and put them together to make it wide enough? And thank you for the Quilt Calculator I will search that know and see if it works for apple.
I figure out my backings the old fashioned way. I draw it out on graph paper. I find a visual helpful. But I have the Robert Kaufman app too and it is great for figuring out amount of fabric needed.
@@annasein6798 ruclips.net/video/SE5CqpWaReA/видео.html check that out. If you are going to long arm it, they prefer the seams are parallel with the top so when it's rolled up you don't have extra bulk with the seam. Many patterns also show how to do the backing. Also check Fabric Cafe, they have a free goodies section and one of the pages has backings.
I just love watching you work.❤ One of my favorite pastimes is watching your videos and learning. This quilt immediately caught my eye as it is such a traditional pattern and colors but just so very lovely. Thank you for all that you do and share. Hugs from Canada 🇨🇦
My husband just bought me fabric with panels for Christmas (like last night, as we did our gift opening late because we were all sick around Christmas!) The panels are of wild animals and mountain and forest scenes. (He's a hunter). Looking forward to trying this pattern or something like it on my new fabric! Friday night, I used your "how to sew binding" to finish a lap quilt for my daughter...my second quilt in less than a year! I just (re)started sewing February 2022. This was my second pieced quilt. Thanks for your very simple, helpful and inspiring videos. P.s. love your nails! ✨ And... Thanks for giving away another quilt!
At First a happy new year to your Family and you. And hello from Germany. It's another great quillt, so pretty. Thank you, Donna. I always wait for more videos from you.
Absolutely beautiful and so clever! Thanks for teaching us another set of techniques to add to our skills kit bag, so perfect for a panel, or just a lovely large print we’d rather not cut up. I’ve never seen panels with blocks as large as the baskets you’ve shown us… but this technique would work well on smaller panel blocks equally well. Thanks Donna and Jordan Fabrics team!
Good morning, Jordon family, there’s nothing better than my first cup of coffee in the morning and Donna new videos, thank you for all the tips, tricks and techniques that you teach us. You’re a very good teacher Sashing around the quilt is wonderful. Also keeps it from stretching. Good luck in the new year. thank you for your Jordon family
Thank you so much for the new video...I am sure I have watched all your videos at least 2 if not 3 times each. You are the best. Visiting your shop is on my bucket list. I now know how to make the panel quilt I am planning for my son.
I am so happy that you made a quilt using the panels. They are such a challenge to me. This pattern is wonderful. I love having to make larger pieces and trimming them down. That way everything is all squared up. The quilt you made is absolutely beautiful. Of course I’ll have to try it.
This video is very helpful for using panels. Donna, I enjoy your videos so much! You make every quilt look so easy. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of quilting!
Thank you so much for showing how easy it is to add a great border without having to attempt the math. I never get it right, and then didn't know how to fix it. Your method was truly a light bulb moment! Woo hoo!!
Screaming. I have a bunch of panels I bought to turn into gifts and couldn’t figure out how to put borders around them. Thanks for explaining- always so eloquently and easy to understand!! My friends will be getting those panels as quilts now! ❤️ you Donna!
I love watching your tutorials. Always seem to take in good information on them. Thanks !❤️. I’m always so amazed how easy you make these look and it encourages me to try your tips a and tricks! Thanks for all you do for the quilting world of people! Till my next tutorial of yours Happy Days !
Great ideas on how to work with panels. I love both of them, but the large floral panel is amazing without having to do a lot of patchwork. This tutorial is very inspiring. Thank you again for a great tutorial and generous giveaway. Looking forward to your next tutorial. Happy Quilting!!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE APPLIQUE! This panel is a great imitation; beautiful colors, blocks are also quick, easy and beautiful! PERFECT everyday quilt, shows well and can be used with happiness. This quilt is spot-on for both beginners and experienced quilters.
Ok, I am finally inspired to work on a panel that I had bought and hoarded. Have been dying to make a quilt from it but couldn't figure out what to do with it. The attic window style wouldn't work as it is longer than it is tall. This is exactly what I needed. Thank you so much for posting this.
This Quilt is beautiful, I didn't think when it first started it would be nice but you have turned out a beautiful classier quilt again. well done on this different quilt,.
This video was excellent! May I also say that I ordered this quilt kit from Jordan Fabric and it came quickly.. I don’t usually order kits bc the fabrics never seem to be cut straight but this one was PERFECTLY cut. Every fabric piece was square! They truly know what they are doing! I will be ordering from them in the future!!!!
Thank you for these ideas. I have two panels for children's quilts, a dinosaurs one which has very murky colours and a Thomas the tank engine that has bright primary colours. Both pose difficulties that I didn't foresee when I bought them. I will take them out again and see if I can use your method to come up with a suitable border for them and just get them finished. I love seeing your tutorials come out, a lovely Sunday morning surprise.
Oh I love your video. It was so easy to follow and I’m teaching homeschool to my granddaughter who is 15 now. She will be learning quilting in her 4 years of high school. I signed her up for a quilting class before Covid hit and she made a topper for her quilt. I’m so proud of her and she took to it easily. Our local quilt store went out of business and the other quilt store in Fort Worth also closed. I cried. I did shop eBay for fabrics before prices went to orbit, so to speak. Right now, panels are still reasonable so I’m heading out to get supplies at the three stores that are left in a few towns nearby, no more than 40 minutes away. Gotta buy online for now because my hubby has Covid. Stay safe dear heart!
I have quite the stash of panels. Never knew what to do with them. Thank you so much for this tutorial. You are such a Blessing to those of us less experience quilters.
Donna, I was about to start a panel quilt but didn't know where to start. Thank you to you, Mat and your team of helpers, I now know how to do it. I can't wait to start it now. Thanks. Kathleen...ENGLAND

I really loved this quilt design with the panels. My best friends are moving to Canada in June and I am thinking that this idea would make a great memory quilt. I've never done any quilting buy would like to do something special for them from all of our silly times together as a group of friends.
So excited to see this new video - have been trapped at home after testing positive and am bored stiff- I have a Henry Glass panel with African animals that I would love to try this on - happy new year to you all.
This was a very informative video! I have been missing seeing you have a video; it is so good to have you back posting videos. Thanks for sharing……………..
If you cut your strip units in 5" segments instead of 2 1/2" segments, match up the seams as you said, sew on both ends and cut down the middle, this saves time with the same results. You end up with 2 four patch units with 1 cut. My sewing time is limited so gotta cut time where I can, lol. Missed you Donna, stay safe and blessed... Barb from Tombstone, AZ
I needed a Donna Jordan video! Thank you for a really beautiful method to finish a panel. I see panels that I like, but I don’t buy them because I don’t know what to do with them. The next time I see one I want, I’ll get it and use this wonderful method.

I love how the panels are made to shine. Such a beautiful method. And works so well for large single, and pieced (?) Panels. Happy new year to you, and all at Jordan fabrics. Tfs, hugs, Chel 🌸
Beautiful quilt. The flange trim is very interesting. I got a panel and matching fabric for Christmas and that has given me more ideas how to tackle it. 🤔
Stunning tutorial quilt, with an easy border....thank you. And that giveaway quilt reminds me of God's Rainbow!. Gorgeous! Thank you, Jordan family for all you do!
Nathalie.

My world feels balanced again with a new tutorial from Ms. Jordan! Thank you so much.

I couldn't sleep too. I'm looking at quilt pattern that I want to make for my nephews
@@maryrosespriggs I find the sewing machine sounds very relaxing, so does my 2 year old when he has a difficult night.
