    Some advice from a guy who has played since the closed beta: Everything in the game makes sense, so long as you're paying attention. Once you figure something out, it's pretty hard to forget it, too. Pay attention to everything you unlock when you unlock it, because it WILL give you an idea of what you should be doing next.
    Also, you're likely going to feel compelled to build in as small a space as possible. RESIST THE URGE. The world is pretty as all hell, but the machines are HUGE. Train stations alone take up TITANIC amounts of room, so don't be afraid to take up space! Also don't forget that you can always build UP.
    Good luck, pioneer!

      On additional piece of advice I would give is to think about automating just about everything and then once you've automated it go back and make your automation more efficient.

    I miss that first sense of wonderment I had, before I had been all over the map through multiple playthroughs (1000+ hours now, only non-MMO game I ever did that in). Thanks for letting me live it again vicariously through you.
    One of the beautiful things about the way the game is designed is that the even though the progression and milestones are somewhat forced, you will find that by the time you get to them you actually WANT to do them because they will make your QOL better. Like when you talked about having to stay in one place to do the crafting... you will soon unlock some stuff that will do the crafting for you if you supply it with power. And later on you'll find things that will supply it with power for you. And so forth.

      @@nerdenoughfortwoI think the most important quality of life milestone is coal power. Until you reach that point, you will be constantly having to tend to your biomass burners to keep them up and running. Coal power allows you to automate power production and it’s frees up more time to attend to other building and production plans.

    So fun to see someone play this game fresh! :) It's not a survival game, although you can take damage, there's no other stats to maintain as far as your character goes. It's purely a factory building and exploration game. This game is very much the 3D version of Factorio, without the base defense. Of course the game isn't done yet so as far as the point of any of it, no one is sure. The full details of the story have yet to be revealed.

You start out in space, making the face starry-eyed. Then, as you enter the atmosphere it looks like the eyes light on fire, hinting of a sinister plot. This type of humor continues as you play.

    The ores, impure, normal, and pure. They all have different rates when mining them. When you stick an actual miner on then and have it running. They will produce at different speeds. Ore nodes are infinite.
    It breaks down to about 1 pure node equals 2 normal, to 4 impure.
    So if you pop on a pure node, it will take 4 impure to equal it.

    Yeah, it's not a survival game. When ever you die you will respawn at your hub. Resource nodes are endless, they never run dry so there is no need to restart the game ever. Whenever you dismantle buildings or machines you get back everything, so relax and enjoy the game. This game can also be played in multiplayer mode (though it is more buggy) but I recommend you play for yourself for a while to get a feeling for the game. This game is not really complicated, I watched a ten year old learning it quite quickly, but it is very complex. Not complicated meaning you don't have to be smart to play this game, simple math is enough, complex meaning you will get a lot more stuff to produce (like your iron plates) and machines to produce them, so in the long run you have to be organized to succeed. And most importantly relax, this game had been voted second (?) of the most relaxing games in steam the first year it appeared on steam ;-)

    Oh man, if you think this is complicated so far you have no idea what you're getting yourself into.
    A couple of tips to get you started:
    1. I don't know if it's a setting or some bug, but your texture quality is very poor, the game normally looks much better. Worth looking into.
    2. The craft bench is your last resort, not your first resort. Automate everything. At the very beginning you don't have any other option, but the goal is to reduce manual input as much as possible.
    3. Push towards Coal Power as a priority, it can be automated completely so you don't have to worry about manually refilling biomass burners.

  • @mynameisjundertag3568
    @mynameisjundertag3568 11 месяцев назад +1

    Yes. Seeing a person not knowing how to play the game is kinda funny in a good way. But the controls confusion i didnt really like struggling through that, so i will get you the basics, when in the craft bench you can press the space bar to craft for you (learned already) you can hold the space bar to craft the item until you stop pressing it, if you want to craft items using your mouse then hold down the mouse button, it will work the same way as if you held down the space bar, Q to go to build menu to select things to build such as the craft bench and the equipment workshop. You unlock more stuff when you complete milestones. Note: you can select other milestones and if you have resources inside the milestone it will keep it in there, double clicking on the related items quickly transfers one stack of items to the hub terminal, hold ctrl to put in everything you need of that material into the hub, this also works for personal storage boxes, except you dump all of it. If you double click it will transfer only the stack. Note: if you right click on the item it will split the stack in half, hold right click to split what you want off of the stack. Note when manually crafting items it will show you what you consume and how many if you look at the center hud piece, this will also show how many you get after fully crafting the material, if you want to know what machines cost in recourses it will be the same but it shows how many resources it consunes and how many it produces in resources per minute. Note conveyor belts have a maximun capacity that you can see in the description. Note you can get upgraded belts up to mk5 belts.

    • @mynameisjundertag3568
      @mynameisjundertag3568 11 месяцев назад

      You can also get conveyor mergers and splitters to increase efficiency of buildings. Note the conveyor mergers and splitters split half of the material going in or splits in three dependent on belts connected, this works the same on mergers but it can merge up to three belts. If you have struggles figuring how to split or merge successfully with 100% efficiency you can unlock overclocking later on, which allows you to overclock (costing power shards) or you can underclock it for free to any percent down to 0%.

    • @mynameisjundertag3568
      @mynameisjundertag3568 11 месяцев назад

      This is unlocked in the MAM

    • @mynameisjundertag3568
      @mynameisjundertag3568 11 месяцев назад

      You can also do this with power producing stuff as well

    • @mynameisjundertag3568
      @mynameisjundertag3568 11 месяцев назад

      Also overclocking one machine cost more power then if you built more machines, this works the same for underclocking but it decreases in the same fashion, so the best way to save electricity later on is to build 5 machines underclocked by 20% and you will save electricity.

    I'm pretty late to the video, and others have done well with explaining things, but as someone with over 270 hours sunk into the game, I'll leave my bit of info too :)
    Firstly, Satisfactory is all about three words: Augmentation, Automation and Exploitation. The key to this game- due to its complexity- is to do what is needed first, so in the future, you aren't overwhelmed. you may have noticed that when you open your inventory and move your mouse to the right side of the screen and click, it opens a to-do list. My best advice is to use this as much as possible. Intricacy and complexity is Satisfactory's middle name and it's easy to get overwhelmed, especially at first because you start with nothing. When you get overwhelmed (which will happen a lot) break up the project you're working on into multiple pieces and go from piece to piece. The game does this for you already because you have milestones, tiers and phases. Currently you are working through onboarding, which is the tutorial tier (tier 0) and part of phase zero. Phases wont matter for a while, though I would plan for automating large amounts of items sooner than later. Your first big project the game will ask of you (no spoilers!) will require hundreds of items, but is essential for progression. As you unlock milestones and tiers, look through everything available to you before you plan anything, and go for what makes it easiest to stay organized, clean and efficient. If you play through the entire game you will thank yourself for doing this right off the bat because even the slightest inefficiency will cost you a lot in the long run.
    Secondly, your first starter factory will most certainly be torn down and rebuilt as you learn a lot in the beginning, but do your best to build something that will last as long as possible. When I say as long as possible, I mean hundreds of hours because a single save can easily sink over 2,000 hours before completion. When it comes to building a factory in the beginning, your goal is to just automate what you can. Once you get further into the game and have more at your disposal, you'll want to make factories that produce one type of item, or if you build a megafactory (you automate everything you produce in one location, and usually will import materials across the map) section it off to make specific things in specific areas. Again, organization and efficiency is key here.
    Third, have fun! One thing in common with Satisfactory and Minecraft is that there really is no wrong way to play, so do it how you want and have fun with experimenting and learning! Satisfactory is truly about the process of getting somewhere and not just getting there. After all, its all about automation and building, which can take real time hours to do, so if you do stay in the game, you'll have plenty of content for your channel and plenty of playability in your save as well!

      @nerdenoughfortwo  11 месяцев назад +1

      Wow. That's a lot to take in. I'll try to remember a much as I can, but so far, I'm not too crazy overwhelmed. (Cough cough, ARK. Cough cough.) So I'll keep at it.

    I generally consider myself a casual gamer and I found Satisfactory so addictive that I racked up 700+ hours of play time throughout all the updates since the first release of Early Access, which is a lot for me! It's very much like Minecraft in the sense that there isn't a "wrong" way to play the game. That said, I have a few tips and pointers for you that may or may not help you make progress faster and enjoy the game more:
    - take some time to tweak graphics settings! The game gets so much more enjoyable with higher quality textures, which most pc's with dedicated gpus of the last three gens should be able to handle.
    - most resource nodes and other 'collectibles' will have enemy creatures near them, be prepared for them. When they spot you, you'll see the "unauthorized hostility detected" warning in the top center of your display. You were caught out by a fluffytailed hog, probably because you were internally singing "We Will Rock You" while digging out the iron ore and didn't notice the warning message. These tiny hogs are probably the easiest enemies to dispatch.
    - Whenever ADA starts talking (and doesn't stop for minutes on end) there will likely be some tutorial tips on the left side of your screen. I was almost yelling at my computer because you were blatantly ignoring the message to press "Q" to open the build interface lol
    - in the crafting bench interface you can click and hold the yellow button if you only need a few items or you can press the spacebar once for continuous crafting and once more to stop. you can also select a different recipe to stop crafting, as you've demonstrated yourself.
    - as soon as you unlock the necessary steps in the tech tree, start automating the production of items into centralized storage close to the HUB. You'll thank yourself for doing it at the later stages of the game! The production lines you'll build get more complicated with every tech tier you upgrade to, so you want to learn to get it right as soon as possible. The main goal of the game, at least until the final version comes out, is exploration and expoitation. Hence you don't want to spend 90% of your time looking at a crafting interface. You landed in a beautifully crafted world to play in, so I implore you to enjoy the gorgeous views while the machines do your job!
    - as soon as you've unlocked the "base building" tech tree tier, start making concrete from limestone and placing foundations. It helps you snap the production machines to a grid, which makes it easier to maintain structure and overview of your factory. When you're setting up a temporary production line without foundations, you can still make it neat and structured by holding CTRL when placing machines. this will align the machines to the ones you've already placed and cut down on space used.
    The knowledge that helped me best to build the most efficient factories is this: Your factory's efficiency is mostly limited by two factors, raw resource acquisition and horizontal space. So don't build yourself into a corner but plan your factories with later expansions in mind and when you finally unlock overclocking technology, try to only use it on miners, then double up the machinery to deal with the extra resources you will produce.
    And finally: Pet all the Lizard Doggos!!!

      [Edit] It may the 'Glory Days' syndrome but the two versions that I personally think were the best for Modded were 1.7.10 and 1.12.2.
