This tool is exactly what I wanted years ago!!! The frame interpolation works really well, and so does the upscaling; Minus a couple artifacts/output glitches when rendering, it's amazing!
Great guide. Been using it and comparing with MeGUI. I have been overlaying 30fps videos with no artifacts of course, like a cross-hair for example and masking out the rest of the 30fps video and the result is 60fps with the artifacts more or less gone. In my tests i will have to post a few examples and give a shout-out to you of course.
@@oangdad672 I went for the smoothest video with no artifact removal (svp/ use GPU) which is the fastest render just to demonstrate how bad it can look and how i am able to mask over it with the original 30fps track using a cookie cutter in vegas pro.

After i installed it and rendered the first video with the encodegui AI, the system playback speed of my editing software changed. No matter what video i put into vegas, everything is now sluggish and slow.
Editing higher frame rate videos in Vegas is going to make it very slow. Even using the Ampere NVDEC (the fastest GPU based decoder currently) Vegas still runs slow. It’s a problem with Vegas or your hardware not EncodeGUI.
i just can't use it, any video i download comes with H264/H265 codec, and the software can not use a video file with such codecs. i'm nearly 1h30min trying to convert my video's codec online and with programs, and the encodegui program still does not recognise the AVC/HEVC codec. When i try to upscale the video, it always land to an error, and it does not provide me any information on what went wrong, but i think it's the codec. I already updated my NVIDIA drivers and configured my pc to open encodegui using my GPU, and it stills give me a "failed" message in the "jobs" section. It's very strange cuz i used to submit any kind of video that i downloaded and never happened to fail to convert, don't know what to do. i really needed to upscale some video's frame rate
The error has nothing to do with the codecs. There’s information regarding each error in EncodeGUI, but you have to go find some of them it in the logs (not all errors explain the issue in the message box pop up). There’s plenty of documentation on what to do for an error and how to report the error to me and the other devs: encodegui.com/support.html
when i start my project it say errorr (Required dependency"vspipe.exe" is missing in EncodeGui Installation. Please reinstall EncodeGui) What does it mean?
Using Vulkan via Models “Slow” for EncodeGUI AI and v1.8 for RIFE will pose the best results with the lowest amount of artefacts. The CUDA backend will be much faster but lower quality than some of the models in Vulkan NCNN mentioned earlier.
@@DaGoose since there are so meny things affecting the quality (svpflow or rife or encodegui // then CUDA or Vulkan // then speed OR level, precision, TTA......it would be nice to now the overall quality. i mean SVP causes artefacts.....Fastest speed causes artefacts but maybe in a very minor way. Thank you for this detailed guide. What is permissible with the "Encode GUI AI / CPU"? I tried to do 30fps interpolation from 24fps using 2-pass encoding and MKV output but when process completed the resulting file was 0Kb. It did work when encoding using CRF and MP4 as output, haven't tried MKV. The version used: v1.0.3
Any video regardless of output container/settings qualifies for frame interpolation. It's likely something happened with the subtitle/audio encoding during the end of the process (EncodeGUI won't notify you of all errors). Follow the directions here to send us your logs for a fix: encodegui.com/support.html
You know it will be pretty cool if you add presets, So you know how to set up all the stuff, just a click of a button to have everything all customizable set up
Saving encoding settings will be coming in a future version of EncodeGUI: docs.google.com/document/d/1zL0xlgVfRajMTVp7RUt1UMvgtf5es2NOsrYDiDdzLMI/edit?usp=sharing

Hybrid vs Encode GUI.
Which one to use when? Let me know.
I have a very strong CPU but not the GPU power. So which should I use.
Intel i9 12th Gen 16gb ram. But integrated GPU.
Either is fine. Use SVPFlow
whats diff abt this than flowframes
FlowFrames can’t smoothly interpolate non-integral frame rate selections.
@@DaGoose then what's the diff with this and framegui
framegui doesn’t have AI and multiple codec selections
