I think it would be really good if the devs could come up with a ship that you level through the grades. Aside from the specialty ships, all the warships have a shelf life, which makes it feel like they are all a waste of resources. You work hard to max a G3 epic but it becomes redundant so quick. But if they came up with a ship that you levelled through G1, G2, G3, G4, G5 and on, now that would feel like a good investment! It could be linked to missions or Ops levels as you go up!

@@megee8884 No where you can reach, I think it takes warp 135 or 155 to reach the systems that drop 3* Epic Bps. You can buy them in the Romulan faction store or Away Teams Store.
I happened to start playing during an event store month lol, got my Jellyfish, USS Franklin, North Star, and USS Discovery off of that one event store alone.
The best reason to NOT ignore the 4* UC ships is that they let you reach out and do DS missions to get REP, Credits and other loot much sooner than if you skip them. This gets you the 4* rares faster and lets you rep lock your factions much faster.

note for the franklin: get that frequency modulator efficiency research. bang that shit out asap. that will drop the costs by a bit over half and make that grind more tolerable. Also don't neglect the other researches for it because they will apply to your franklin-a
I built the Saladin/Bortas when I was at 28 and I skipped the LVL 30 ships altogether to focus on getting the materials and resources for Enterprise. Completely agree with skipping the 30th-level ships for the G3 epics.
Get the 4* miners. I have all three, you only need to upgrade to tier2 + cargo bay and mining laser and you have access to 3 diffrent mining systems each with a full node worth of protected cargo with Tpring, 3 of 11, Quark or Ghrush. They have way more warp range than the 3* so you don't have to constantly relocate just to mine 4*. Drop one on a full 100k node at pm reset and wait till morning, bunch of mining dailies done when you send them home.
As far as the G4 faction miners, you can get them by grinding hostiles. I paid faction credits for the Klingon one but got the other two from grinding hostiles. Only upgrade them for events.
Rev, can you do a video on whether or not to get the skins for these ships that have them. We have new members who are looking for these answers, and upper level folks in need of a refresher. Purdy pleeeze? ⚜️🐅
Well put together breakdown! That’s a lot of ground to cover in one video. I agree with most of it up to the G4 ships; I believe the Valdore is a sound investment just because the Brawl event makes it relatively easy to upgrade, and the rewards for participating in the deep space armadas can help offset that even more. I use an Amalgam for deep space mining, just because it saves me from investing heavily in one of the other ones, and I have a fair number of mining officers to push the speed up.
Agreed on most of these. If you have to go for a G4 uncommon, go with the Valdore because it’s much easier to upgrade. G4 rares are excellent because of the added loot; G4 epics can be skipped unless you don’t plan to go to G5. I recently got a Nova and it had both excellent warp range and is fast at G4 and G5 mining, plus it’s fairly tough. No need to get the G4 faction miners or the G5 faction miners; it’s about getting the most bang for your buck, and I haven’t seen any compelling reason to get one of those faction miners over a Nova. (Hell, you can do G5 mining with a Horizon; it just means lots of Disco jumps.)
@@dalakersfan Hostile grinding with the Pike-Moreau-Chen crew means hitting lots of explorers, yielding explorer parts for refining. (The PMC crew works best against explorers or survey ships below level 51.) Therefore you tend to end up with a larger surplus of them than for the other ship types.
Great info. Agree with pretty much everything I've seen so far at level 38. One note, the Rialta can't be scrapped, so you don't have to worry about it.
Nova is a valuable ship for breaking into the deeper ranges for mining. Best bet is to get the ship, leave it at T1 and use a refit. Warp on them can get into the level 54 areas.
Maybe T 2 though, so you can unlock a forbidden tech mining buff... but you're on target though, as an early G5 mining ship, wow it cost me 2 billion tritanium to repair once in T1.
Thank Rev that he goes through all the ships. It is right If you have high tier disco you don't need g4 miner. You can use you g3 miner. If you need Uncommon G4 ship is debatable. You can ask DJ. How it is to ship the uncommon g4 spend resouce and credits on the building und push to Rare g4. To push ops 46. In Ops 46 you also get better research for efficiency. My Rep grinding space is sol, Kronos and Romulus. You can get g4 miner, uncommon, rare bp. It take a while to get bp but is more more worth to get rare g3, miner bp in below 49 DS. I get my Hydra from Sol and other G4 miner form that tactic. After I have my rare g4. I grind with both epic g3 for trader and the rare g4 for heavy. You can save a lot of credits. I think DJ did it also. In my opoinion you should get to ops 46 first then build your Kthinga. Kthinga will cost a lot of Ore and crystal what you need for your OPS build, Storage and plattform. In my oponion with the new strike team workes on Epics better then uncommon or rare. Strike team build around Epic ship ability. Last Live stream from DJ is was also discuss a 56 above player If you can skip uncommon g5 and spend the resource in Building or Research Procress faster. It is always a choice if you want progress in ops or research faster this is for ever or ship for short term. I also think the rare ship g4 are for long time game play. Operation cost of Epics g4 in repair cost is much lower then g5. Epic g4 is more a grind ship you need a lot of bp then then uncommon g5. But the away team store can low the cost of the faction store.
I found the B’Chor very useful. Many players advise me not to get it. But deep space mining is easier as it does not drain Discovery’s Mycelium or base relocation tokens. You cannot fool a chaser if you cannot recall.

Agree with everything upto the G4 stuff. Think G4 faction miners are greatly needed there is only so far and so many nodes in lower Deep space. You need those bigger boys to get up higher. Also a good way of getting them via a faction your not focused on to use up some credits and UC G4. Also must need for the G4 uncommons for rep grinding and also the fact it takes an incredibly long time to get to 50. Would still happily pick my Valdore over my maxed g3 epics.. but totally agree with the G3s and also the miners they mine much faster then the G4s for me right now
I’m surprised that rev didn’t mention the best thing about feesha’s was warp range. At tier 9 feesha has 219 warp without any officer bonus, making it easy to find a gas node. Unless G4 material node is not very competitive at rev’s server.
Dude I win mondays every week for over a year. A tier 9 is totally pay. I have 4 feeshas. Score 600 million a week at 39. No one touches me. Tier 9 is crazy pay to win.
Im watching this vid today Rev, 7/25/23. Since mid December my dvor hit t8. I stilllll need the mining laser and warp engine to finally max it. 😐. Most ridiculous grind in the game.
On my first account I rushed to 19 in almost 3 weeks! On my new account I am at level 18, 10 days in trying to hit level 21, and camp it out & mine, until my 1 acc hits 21.. Loving the new BattlePass events & Ketracell events; I had recently bought me a nice strawberry jellyfish as well. 😎 This game is such a waiting game once you hit level 15+
I think the 4* miners are underrated. I didn’t build one until 46, but at that point getting one to t3 is pretty easy and not expensive if you did you efficiency research! The native warp range is very good as is the mining speed, and it helps with using the disco juice for other things. And let’s be honest, if you arent mining with 2-3 ships most of the time in this game, you are missing out. Meridians and amalgams on a 4* node should be blown up. Nailed it on jelly. T4-t5 at best. Valdore is a great ship and pairs well with my pilum. It’s all getting better expensive…hard to be ftp at this level. That’s work for me with light to moderate spending. Great vid!
With the snw strike team crew, a tier 9 Legionary can take out tier 6 to tier 8 Saladins, tier 3 ISS Jellyfish, and tier 4 to tier 5 Enterprises in PVP. I have not personally killed higher Enterprises, but I have killed 2 Enterprises in the 2.5 mil range on the same hull and still had about 30% hull left. If you plan to pvp at 26, and want a ship that will punch up well into the early 30s, opens up cloaking research, and does not contribute to the crystal crunch, the Legionary becomes a fantastic option.
I know it's n old video but it really helped me a lot. Especially feeling less stupid about getting the Gladius. Love her. And yes the D'deridex looks great. It's the reason I have to stick to it till 60. Even though I'll probably be 60 before I get there ;-)
I would absolutely say get a valdore, the trade off is that I can do the voyager loop once a week and cut time down and the valdore can kill everything in the game way easier than my max auger. I don’t need to switch ships for anything except events that call for specific ships. Also I can kill stronger delta quadrant ship in an 18 mil valdore vs a 8 mil voyager that is a grind for its parts
Scrapping it for G4s to get free primes. Will also need a Mayflower and maybe a D3 for the same purposes. I’m lvl 37 and have done a lot of the efficiency research so I have been able to level the up fairly quickly.
For PvE battleships are slow, prefer an explorer or interceptor for that. And having at least one of the Vorta Vor, Hydra avoids having to relocate or use the discovery all the. Time
Love the mining speed bug still exists... so stupid. Also, why cant we fix the display the total cargo when using a lower decks officer and thus never fill your ship hold because of the error.
I wish I had an iconic Star Fleet ship that I could take through the game. I started this game because of all the movies/shows, but then I don't get to pilot a cool ship unless I grind forever
The Jellyfish was on sale for $69.99 CAD from the Store ( or $49.99 USD). Had it been $20, I would have not thought twice about it. The $19.99 USD pack contained 1/3 of the blueprints, so it’s a bit misleading to say it’s a $20 buy.
I was told by Scoply that log you get your Orion Corvette through the research tree and not through Blue Prints you CANNOT finish your Field Training... And yeah it's true.

I may know why that one ship is named Betty White... we had a whale that loved to fight and cause trouble and he was named Betty White. This was server 12 and it was nicknamed the murder server, very crowded and there were lines for edges node g2 and up, and our r.o.e. had to reflect that. Very, very good at the game except for his trollish nature. A huge spender, too. We would wait until he bought and spent irl... because he often let his shield slip and we, in revenge, would rip him for millions and millions So, I.. wonder if he is why they named this one Betty White, and I wonder if they have named any ships in game for such reasons.
Yeah I’ve restarted in a brand new server and I’m going to duel faction with fed and Klingon, so I want to get the D3 and only the D3 for my first faction ship and skip the mayflower. Because of the way dailies work I can complete 6 MISSIONS at the same time by hitting romulans of a decent level bracket, so I just want the D3 as a way to do cloaking dailies, but more importantly for doing duel faction grind because of that sweet damage bonus and makes dailies a lot easier to complete. That’s my plan anyway.
I didn't spend heavy just t4 on auger and jelly then at 42 got 2 faction ships to effectively grind seems to have worked great for efficiency and speed 👍
Still think you're wrong about the Kehra. One of my favorites so far. Fucker would pound hostiles forever and often wreaked havoc with powerful raiders to zip in and kill their miners and zip back to base. I also massively lucked out with lucky draws on Gorkon and Chang early on in the game. For hostiles, another of your favorites, the Intrepid, is as good or better than tier 7 Augur, especially considering the cost factor to level up and repair. But, yeah, the Enterprise rules ... or at least until a month ago. Also, depending on research for the Kelvin and saving rss for the Pilum; can do without the Valdor and K'Tinga. And big B'Rel is a load but the Newton intrigues me.
Good tips but I gotta disagree on the 41 faction miners. Going from mining 4* with a Meri or Amal to mining with a T3 Vorta Vor is pretty game changing. I've gone from over 6 hours to clear a full node to a bit over 2 hours, depending on the type. I've built up a huge stock of raw 4* for the bonus refinery. My faction miners are still T6 and under, so it also helps me reach some of the better 3* nodes in normal space. I feel like it's a ship that will grow with me all the way up to the 50s. I'm not sure yet whether getting multiple different types is worth going for, but that's a question for another time.
its about resource efficiency which is key for F2P players, does it complete dailies by the time you wake up yes so its ok, but if I can build a 4* miner I will but never upgrade it.

I'm a level 45 (46 in the oven as we speak) and my 13 million Kelvin is great i am working towards a Newton as i approach my billion point Federation lock, once i lock i will start working Romulan to the billion lock because i want a Pilum.
I think this could make a huge difference in TC. If enough nodes were covered by surveys with active defense. Assuming there’s any TC action on your servers.. For mining events, it always seems the top ten are running 4+ Freesha’s. For those players mining higher G4 systems or G5, we’ve already got enough PC for 4-5 hours of mining. And I kind of doubt these will stop a 100M+ G5, but it might be interesting to see. What concerns me about this is that it’s not for lower levels. The players with less PC who can only run Horizons and Envoys. I think this might easily drive opc hunters to hunt below 30’s, or worse PD hunters not willing to risk hitting faction miners. Why make it harder and more frustrating for lower players to advance? That just reduces the flow of new players. Not saying they will quit, but making it harder to complete dailies and events doesn’t make them more likely to stick it out and become some invested that they stay.
I now have a new goal. The Enterprise A! I didn't even realize it was in the game. So glad that it is so much stronger then the pretender to the throne I have. ;-}}
And a ton of gas... for those defence platforms... yeah... any material... going ops46 will need ALL kinds of materials and resources to progress. The grind to ops46 only means that you have to let your ships sit quietly in the corner... for a while. Fortunately, the rewards for events, dailies and weekly/monthly loyalty chests get a bit better to help along... but sadly, the refinery keeps letting us down, big time...
Ops 28 free to play i have jelly, dvor, botany and franklin so i think im not doing too bad. I have been leveling my mayflower and grinding for saladin. Almost got the discovery from last event im 15 tickets away dam
Lvl 47 player here unless you want to be constantly running out of jump juice for the discovery invesr in a 4* miner b'chor, vorta vor, hydra I have all 3 and it's definitely better so many players and so few 4* nodes scopley added a few but we need way more ISS jellyfish I stopped at t5 it's ridiculous in uc 4* gas to upgrade and 4* ore as well same with the k't'inga, valdore, Kelvin they get extremely expensive after t5,t6
What I dont like about all this is that your mainly skiping everything, and the ships that your not skiping, your not maxing them either so eventually the game became about how fast can you skio things instead or enjoying them, I didnt skip most ships, in fact I scraped them all and I became very powerfull since I wa able to get my officers súper strong, ive been wining battles on 2 o 3 levels above me just by doing a different play style, plus im a free to play player and I never had a issue, I win events I win pvp etc, dont think this is the best way, you miss the nice part of the game thats the reason theres so much money on the game, its my opinión.
The maxing decision all comes down to a cost-benefit decision. There are some ships you should always max, Iike the Vidar because it gives you the best borg refinery and the Discovery because you get the guaranteed 1 day speedups once you hit level 40. D'vor and Franklin too. However, for other ships you have to decide whether you want a bigger ship or want to advance other parts of the game such as building and research. I got my Enterprise to tier 6 for example but I need 8,000 uc 3* gas for one part now. So I decided to stop and invest all the gas I get now on efficiency research instead until that catches up. Then I might go back to the ship or I might just go to 42 at that point and get the Valdore. The most important thing is you should do what makes you the happiest game wise, because you're the one playing it!
The Jellyfish is 40 dollars (2 x 25 blueprints for 20 dollars each). Also, it's end of August 2023 now, the mining speed of the Northie is still not fixed.
I'm a Ops 51, My Alliance is a Whale alliance most members swear by the Nova and encourage atleast 1 many members have 2 to 3 Novas supposedly crucial for G5 Mining and Raiding as well. I'm only waiting to build mine as I want my Corvus 1st. Also Yes I'm skipping the Epics I have about 100 BPs may get 1 way down the road Who Knows?
I hated trying to max my Vi'dar initially. Because I didn't have good officers to grind with at the time. I would take down 3, maybe 4 probes per run. It made it super slow. But when I made a focus on it it became one of my go-to ships and the credits are so useful!
ngl i feel like apac server 201 is proof that the ops 50 epics are definitely worth investing in since we only just unlocked g5 ascension 2 weeks ago roughly (we were the only non g5 apac server) and yet are from my understanding 1 of 5 servers world wide that are undefeated in incursions
I have Every Ship maxed Up to 44 Except Sarco T9, Franklin A T6 and Gladius T8 Everything else is Maxed, Oh I need to redo my D3, Scrapped 2, Also have 2 Mayflowers Everytgmhing will be scrubbed When I get my Pilum next month and the other ships, Oh Nothing over the 34 Epics is Maxed Yet

Please do a video on the just atrocious lag/gameplay durring large combats. Had a station raid defense durring incursions and it was unplayable. Which is extra sad, as this has traditionally been the funnest part of the game, imo. Everyone that plays stfc needs to push for a "systems diagnostics" arc. Or 2.
I think it's unfair to criticize the hijacked ships as worthless. Anybody frustrated with only one ship type for specific events early on can benefit from the hijacked ships to rock all docks with battleships or explorers or whatnot. A low level heavy hitter ship
Curious what your opinion is on using explorers instead of battleships for hostile grinding since SNW pike crew is stronger with the larger shields on the explorers as opposed to the battleships.
You missed one important thing about the 26 ships you really need one with clocking to get that very strong clocking research. And it is leveled to your operations building
I think mining g4 with a meridian or amalgam in deep space is a great idea, but don't get booty bothered when you get bumped off a node for it. Overnight mining is generally less annoying with those ships.
I liked my Kumari as a F2P, i feel like it was really needed to get my butt to 28 for the sally. Dont invest blue Mats though. Discovery addition: At max Tier it provides 24 Days worth of Speedups per max refine. Meridian: Cant have enough. 3 or them is iso mining comport zone Sarcophagus: Can be more than a TC ship. It can win fights vs 49 Heavies and bigger Armadas when crewed with Leslie. But generelly, its useless in TC when most of the playerbase reaches lvl 42 uc/r ships. 26s: If you build them and invest, you gonna wreck your progress. Max lvl 28 and Vidar first. 32s: same ass 26s Feesha: Actually its one broken ship, the only specialty ship with high warp that isnt OPS gated. Invest into Feesha parts when an event store comes up, bringt it to at least T8, then you get 10k Lat per day and have 214 Warp. It will change your armadas forever if you have a whale in your alliance. Start that lvl 50 Armada, get your whale to solo it, get more credits than you could ever get with armadas in your power range. Jelly: T3 with warp mod so you can reach 3 DS systems with Scouts in. Vastly improves scout message gain. T4 Miner: Bought a Hydra in the faction store, too broke to upgrade it. Amalgams/Meridians/Feesha are my main DS miners, as sad as it is.
I'm going to say that the Vahklas is a must-have for smaller players, especially free-to-play. You can use it reasonably well against swarms if you need, because you don't have your Franklin yet. However, more importantly it's got a huge cargo space for piracy for players at that level. I relied heavily on it until I near-maxed the Vidar for piracy, and also used it a lot as a primary grinder until my Sally caught up and ultimately exceeded it's warp range. Even then it was a good second grinder. Yes, it was a lot of investment, and yes, that probably slowed my Sally progression. But it was my longest serving ship, with the exception of the Sally, to date.
If you are not PvP focused, Saladin and ebird seem to be no brainer. The Sally is just too good versus the others for everything. That 1st round big gun saves rss. Similarly, the ebird is very efficient at Armadas and everything really. If you choose this route, you can concentrate on Fed rep and fed officers which the game is biased towards. Good timing Rev! I’m 41 and had lots of questions. I hope the Pilum doesn’t turn out to be as dominant as the Saladin because I’m thinking going all Klingon now since Klingons are the coolest.
North Star is a very nieche ship, i doubt there will ever be officers like the Strike Team for Surveys because they arent made for combat. NS should be seen as a warship instead of a survey.
Im pretty low level (17), should I work on the Turas or the Talla ? All the enemy ships I see for my missions are way higher level than my ships. Should I just have 2 mining ships to hoard resources while I grind with either that battleship or explorer? I like the speed of the explorer and the fighting animation but...I dont wanna waste time and effort
Rev there is currently an issue with the Dvor, the mission is currently not showing for some players at lvl 23 I have a ticket open with customer support and am awaiting a resolution

@@dalakersfan Hostile grinding with the Pike-Moreau-Chen crew means hitting lots of explorers, yielding explorer parts for refining. (The PMC crew works best against explorers or survey ships below level 51.) Therefore you tend to end up with a larger surplus of them than for the other ship types.

What Darren said. You used to be able to. If you can find it, when scrapping was first introduced, a Realta being scrapped was the video.
Nova is a valuable ship for breaking into the deeper ranges for mining. Best bet is to get the ship, leave it at T1 and use a refit. Warp on them can get into the level 54 areas.
Maybe T 2 though, so you can unlock a forbidden tech mining buff... but you're on target though, as an early G5 mining ship, wow it cost me 2 billion tritanium to repair once in T1.

Thank Rev that he goes through all the ships. It is right If you have high tier disco you don't need g4 miner. You can use you g3 miner. If you need Uncommon G4 ship is debatable. You can ask DJ. How it is to ship the uncommon g4 spend resouce and credits on the building und push to Rare g4. To push ops 46. In Ops 46 you also get better research for efficiency.
My Rep grinding space is sol, Kronos and Romulus. You can get g4 miner, uncommon, rare bp. It take a while to get bp but is more more worth to get rare g3, miner bp in below 49 DS. I get my Hydra from Sol and other G4 miner form that tactic. After I have my rare g4. I grind with both epic g3 for trader and the rare g4 for heavy. You can save a lot of credits. I think DJ did it also.
In my opoinion you should get to ops 46 first then build your Kthinga. Kthinga will cost a lot of Ore and crystal what you need for your OPS build, Storage and plattform.
In my oponion with the new strike team workes on Epics better then uncommon or rare. Strike team build around Epic ship ability.
Last Live stream from DJ is was also discuss a 56 above player If you can skip uncommon g5 and spend the resource in Building or Research Procress faster. It is always a choice if you want progress in ops or research faster this is for ever or ship for short term. I also think the rare ship g4 are for long time game play. Operation cost of Epics g4 in repair cost is much lower then g5. Epic g4 is more a grind ship you need a lot of bp then then uncommon g5. But the away team store can low the cost of the faction store.
I found the B’Chor very useful. Many players advise me not to get it. But deep space mining is easier as it does not drain Discovery’s Mycelium or base relocation tokens. You cannot fool a chaser if you cannot recall.

Agree with everything upto the G4 stuff. Think G4 faction miners are greatly needed there is only so far and so many nodes in lower Deep space. You need those bigger boys to get up higher. Also a good way of getting them via a faction your not focused on to use up some credits and UC G4. Also must need for the G4 uncommons for rep grinding and also the fact it takes an incredibly long time to get to 50. Would still happily pick my Valdore over my maxed g3 epics.. but totally agree with the G3s and also the miners they mine much faster then the G4s for me right now
I’m surprised that rev didn’t mention the best thing about feesha’s was warp range. At tier 9 feesha has 219 warp without any officer bonus, making it easy to find a gas node. Unless G4 material node is not very competitive at rev’s server.
Dude I win mondays every week for over a year. A tier 9 is totally pay. I have 4 feeshas. Score 600 million a week at 39. No one touches me. Tier 9 is crazy pay to win.
Im watching this vid today Rev, 7/25/23. Since mid December my dvor hit t8. I stilllll need the mining laser and warp engine to finally max it. 😐. Most ridiculous grind in the game.

I think the 4* miners are underrated. I didn’t build one until 46, but at that point getting one to t3 is pretty easy and not expensive if you did you efficiency research! The native warp range is very good as is the mining speed, and it helps with using the disco juice for other things. And let’s be honest, if you arent mining with 2-3 ships most of the time in this game, you are missing out. Meridians and amalgams on a 4* node should be blown up. Nailed it on jelly. T4-t5 at best. Valdore is a great ship and pairs well with my pilum. It’s all getting better expensive…hard to be ftp at this level. That’s work for me with light to moderate spending. Great vid!
With the snw strike team crew, a tier 9 Legionary can take out tier 6 to tier 8 Saladins, tier 3 ISS Jellyfish, and tier 4 to tier 5 Enterprises in PVP. I have not personally killed higher Enterprises, but I have killed 2 Enterprises in the 2.5 mil range on the same hull and still had about 30% hull left. If you plan to pvp at 26, and want a ship that will punch up well into the early 30s, opens up cloaking research, and does not contribute to the crystal crunch, the Legionary becomes a fantastic option.

I would absolutely say get a valdore, the trade off is that I can do the voyager loop once a week and cut time down and the valdore can kill everything in the game way easier than my max auger. I don’t need to switch ships for anything except events that call for specific ships. Also I can kill stronger delta quadrant ship in an 18 mil valdore vs a 8 mil voyager that is a grind for its parts

Scrapping it for G4s to get free primes. Will also need a Mayflower and maybe a D3 for the same purposes. I’m lvl 37 and have done a lot of the efficiency research so I have been able to level the up fairly quickly.
For PvE battleships are slow, prefer an explorer or interceptor for that. And having at least one of the Vorta Vor, Hydra avoids having to relocate or use the discovery all the. Time

Love the mining speed bug still exists... so stupid. Also, why cant we fix the display the total cargo when using a lower decks officer and thus never fill your ship hold because of the error.

The Jellyfish was on sale for $69.99 CAD from the Store ( or $49.99 USD). Had it been $20, I would have not thought twice about it. The $19.99 USD pack contained 1/3 of the blueprints, so it’s a bit misleading to say it’s a $20 buy.
I was told by Scoply that log you get your Orion Corvette through the research tree and not through Blue Prints you CANNOT finish your Field Training... And yeah it's true.
Thankfully you can quickly grind otu the orion corvette!
The 26's are great to build and max for scrapping later.

I may know why that one ship is named Betty White... we had a whale that loved to fight and cause trouble and he was named Betty White. This was server 12 and it was nicknamed the murder server, very crowded and there were lines for edges node g2 and up, and our r.o.e. had to reflect that. Very, very good at the game except for his trollish nature. A huge spender, too. We would wait until he bought and spent irl... because he often let his shield slip and we, in revenge, would rip him for millions and millions So, I.. wonder if he is why they named this one Betty White, and I wonder if they have named any ships in game for such reasons.

Yeah I’ve restarted in a brand new server and I’m going to duel faction with fed and Klingon, so I want to get the D3 and only the D3 for my first faction ship and skip the mayflower. Because of the way dailies work I can complete 6 MISSIONS at the same time by hitting romulans of a decent level bracket, so I just want the D3 as a way to do cloaking dailies, but more importantly for doing duel faction grind because of that sweet damage bonus and makes dailies a lot easier to complete. That’s my plan anyway.

I didn't spend heavy just t4 on auger and jelly then at 42 got 2 faction ships to effectively grind seems to have worked great for efficiency and speed 👍
Still think you're wrong about the Kehra. One of my favorites so far. Fucker would pound hostiles forever and often wreaked havoc with powerful raiders to zip in and kill their miners and zip back to base. I also massively lucked out with lucky draws on Gorkon and Chang early on in the game. For hostiles, another of your favorites, the Intrepid, is as good or better than tier 7 Augur, especially considering the cost factor to level up and repair. But, yeah, the Enterprise rules ... or at least until a month ago. Also, depending on research for the Kelvin and saving rss for the Pilum; can do without the Valdor and K'Tinga. And big B'Rel is a load but the Newton intrigues me.
Good tips but I gotta disagree on the 41 faction miners. Going from mining 4* with a Meri or Amal to mining with a T3 Vorta Vor is pretty game changing. I've gone from over 6 hours to clear a full node to a bit over 2 hours, depending on the type. I've built up a huge stock of raw 4* for the bonus refinery. My faction miners are still T6 and under, so it also helps me reach some of the better 3* nodes in normal space. I feel like it's a ship that will grow with me all the way up to the 50s. I'm not sure yet whether getting multiple different types is worth going for, but that's a question for another time.
Well with the 3* faction miners I can clear 100k node in 2ish hours. Especially if they're on their node specialty.
its about resource efficiency which is key for F2P players, does it complete dailies by the time you wake up yes so its ok, but if I can build a 4* miner I will but never upgrade it.

I'm a level 45 (46 in the oven as we speak) and my 13 million Kelvin is great i am working towards a Newton as i approach my billion point Federation lock, once i lock i will start working Romulan to the billion lock because i want a Pilum.
How about a building to trade in all those extra BPs for something useful like faction credits
I think this could make a huge difference in TC. If enough nodes were covered by surveys with active defense. Assuming there’s any TC action on your servers..
For mining events, it always seems the top ten are running 4+ Freesha’s. For those players mining higher G4 systems or G5, we’ve already got enough PC for 4-5 hours of mining. And I kind of doubt these will stop a 100M+ G5, but it might be interesting to see.
What concerns me about this is that it’s not for lower levels. The players with less PC who can only run Horizons and Envoys. I think this might easily drive opc hunters to hunt below 30’s, or worse PD hunters not willing to risk hitting faction miners. Why make it harder and more frustrating for lower players to advance? That just reduces the flow of new players. Not saying they will quit, but making it harder to complete dailies and events doesn’t make them more likely to stick it out and become some invested that they stay.
I now have a new goal. The Enterprise A! I didn't even realize it was in the game. So glad that it is so much stronger then the pretender to the throne I have. ;-}}
And a ton of gas... for those defence platforms... yeah... any material... going ops46 will need ALL kinds of materials and resources to progress. The grind to ops46 only means that you have to let your ships sit quietly in the corner... for a while. Fortunately, the rewards for events, dailies and weekly/monthly loyalty chests get a bit better to help along... but sadly, the refinery keeps letting us down, big time...
Ops 28 free to play i have jelly, dvor, botany and franklin so i think im not doing too bad. I have been leveling my mayflower and grinding for saladin. Almost got the discovery from last event im 15 tickets away dam
Lvl 47 player here unless you want to be constantly running out of jump juice for the discovery invesr in a 4* miner b'chor, vorta vor, hydra I have all 3 and it's definitely better so many players and so few 4* nodes scopley added a few but we need way more ISS jellyfish I stopped at t5 it's ridiculous in uc 4* gas to upgrade and 4* ore as well same with the k't'inga, valdore, Kelvin they get extremely expensive after t5,t6

What I dont like about all this is that your mainly skiping everything, and the ships that your not skiping, your not maxing them either so eventually the game became about how fast can you skio things instead or enjoying them, I didnt skip most ships, in fact I scraped them all and I became very powerfull since I wa able to get my officers súper strong, ive been wining battles on 2 o 3 levels above me just by doing a different play style, plus im a free to play player and I never had a issue, I win events I win pvp etc, dont think this is the best way, you miss the nice part of the game thats the reason theres so much money on the game, its my opinión.
The maxing decision all comes down to a cost-benefit decision. There are some ships you should always max, Iike the Vidar because it gives you the best borg refinery and the Discovery because you get the guaranteed 1 day speedups once you hit level 40. D'vor and Franklin too. However, for other ships you have to decide whether you want a bigger ship or want to advance other parts of the game such as building and research. I got my Enterprise to tier 6 for example but I need 8,000 uc 3* gas for one part now. So I decided to stop and invest all the gas I get now on efficiency research instead until that catches up. Then I might go back to the ship or I might just go to 42 at that point and get the Valdore. The most important thing is you should do what makes you the happiest game wise, because you're the one playing it!

The Jellyfish is 40 dollars (2 x 25 blueprints for 20 dollars each). Also, it's end of August 2023 now, the mining speed of the Northie is still not fixed.
I'm a Ops 51, My Alliance is a Whale alliance most members swear by the Nova and encourage atleast 1 many members have 2 to 3 Novas supposedly crucial for G5 Mining and Raiding as well. I'm only waiting to build mine as I want my Corvus 1st. Also Yes I'm skipping the Epics I have about 100 BPs may get 1 way down the road Who Knows?

Stop everything and max your vidar as fast as possible. Pulling 600 faction credits a day matters ALOT.
I hated trying to max my Vi'dar initially. Because I didn't have good officers to grind with at the time. I would take down 3, maybe 4 probes per run. It made it super slow. But when I made a focus on it it became one of my go-to ships and the credits are so useful!
ngl i feel like apac server 201 is proof that the ops 50 epics are definitely worth investing in since we only just unlocked g5 ascension 2 weeks ago roughly (we were the only non g5 apac server) and yet are from my understanding 1 of 5 servers world wide that are undefeated in incursions

Please do a video on the just atrocious lag/gameplay durring large combats. Had a station raid defense durring incursions and it was unplayable. Which is extra sad, as this has traditionally been the funnest part of the game, imo. Everyone that plays stfc needs to push for a "systems diagnostics" arc. Or 2.

I think it's unfair to criticize the hijacked ships as worthless. Anybody frustrated with only one ship type for specific events early on can benefit from the hijacked ships to rock all docks with battleships or explorers or whatnot. A low level heavy hitter ship
Curious what your opinion is on using explorers instead of battleships for hostile grinding since SNW pike crew is stronger with the larger shields on the explorers as opposed to the battleships.

I think mining g4 with a meridian or amalgam in deep space is a great idea, but don't get booty bothered when you get bumped off a node for it. Overnight mining is generally less annoying with those ships.

Discovery addition: At max Tier it provides 24 Days worth of Speedups per max refine.
Meridian: Cant have enough. 3 or them is iso mining comport zone
Sarcophagus: Can be more than a TC ship. It can win fights vs 49 Heavies and bigger Armadas when crewed with Leslie. But generelly, its useless in TC when most of the playerbase reaches lvl 42 uc/r ships.
26s: If you build them and invest, you gonna wreck your progress. Max lvl 28 and Vidar first.
32s: same ass 26s
Feesha: Actually its one broken ship, the only specialty ship with high warp that isnt OPS gated. Invest into Feesha parts when an event store comes up, bringt it to at least T8, then you get 10k Lat per day and have 214 Warp. It will change your armadas forever if you have a whale in your alliance. Start that lvl 50 Armada, get your whale to solo it, get more credits than you could ever get with armadas in your power range.
Jelly: T3 with warp mod so you can reach 3 DS systems with Scouts in. Vastly improves scout message gain.
T4 Miner: Bought a Hydra in the faction store, too broke to upgrade it. Amalgams/Meridians/Feesha are my main DS miners, as sad as it is.
Sarco with Strike team crew is actually really good ;)

Yes! The only other option to get the Franklin a would-be to buy it or wait for multiple event stores
I'm going to say that the Vahklas is a must-have for smaller players, especially free-to-play. You can use it reasonably well against swarms if you need, because you don't have your Franklin yet. However, more importantly it's got a huge cargo space for piracy for players at that level. I relied heavily on it until I near-maxed the Vidar for piracy, and also used it a lot as a primary grinder until my Sally caught up and ultimately exceeded it's warp range. Even then it was a good second grinder. Yes, it was a lot of investment, and yes, that probably slowed my Sally progression. But it was my longest serving ship, with the exception of the Sally, to date.
Should have gotten your franklin long before Vahklas, though if you're leveling up semi-quick I can see that being an issue.
If you are not PvP focused, Saladin and ebird seem to be no brainer. The Sally is just too good versus the others for everything. That 1st round big gun saves rss. Similarly, the ebird is very efficient at Armadas and everything really. If you choose this route, you can concentrate on Fed rep and fed officers which the game is biased towards.

North Star is a very nieche ship, i doubt there will ever be officers like the Strike Team for Surveys because they arent made for combat. NS should be seen as a warship instead of a survey.
Im pretty low level (17), should I work on the Turas or the Talla ? All the enemy ships I see for my missions are way higher level than my ships. Should I just have 2 mining ships to hoard resources while I grind with either that battleship or explorer? I like the speed of the explorer and the fighting animation but...I dont wanna waste time and effort

I'm ops 54 with the Nova in 26hrs in G5 token I can mine about 20 million G5 mats with the Nova... I saved up half million faction creds for Klingon cause that is the last faction I will 15 billion lock so it means nothing to me. That's the faction I got the Nova with
