      Yes, I thought that it deserved more than a single line at the end of the video. It's the most important part of working on the Stella. To the point that if you are working on the Stella and are anywhere near lvl 34 I wouldn't spend any rares or epics on my ship until I had it. It's one of the easiest to see benefits a research can give in this game.

    When trying to decide where to spend the various particles you get as you rep up in the Rogue faction, follow the path that includes Highway Robbery. The boost to your loot grabs is a huge impact on speed of Stella growth.

    When I only had one Stella, I scrapped her at lv10 everyday for a month because the particle per uncommon uranium is higher than lv20. I basically scrap overnight, then rebuild and be ready for actions after dinner. That month's Stella particles were enough for my first branch of Stella researches

    • @riverfu889
      @riverfu889 2 года назад +3

      Now two months later, I have long stopped scrapping Stella at lv 10 because the researches cost way more than what a lv10 scrap can support. I actually only scrapped once at lv25, then next scrap has been max Stella, and I'll only be scrapping at max going forward because max has best return for the rare and epic uranium spent.

    Good video. I agree the main goal to scrapping is to gain as much stella particles as possible, which will allow you to push your stella research higher. Unlike other ship power progression in STFC, the stella's power is largely derived from how deep in the the research tree you get, ie your M level. It is a grind, but it is worth the time. The best thing about it is the majority of it can be F2P, it does just take time to get there. If you have a good alliance though that runs eclipse armadas regularly, the grind becomes easier.

    Great video! Stella is one of the best new mechanics scopely has introduced. Yes, the research tree could be more front loaded, but as far as a mechanic, it's engaging, not overly time consuming, and player beneficial. One of my favorite benefits right now is using the pringles for G3 mats which in turn allows for redeeming uncommon 4* interceptor parts, which are slow to acquire and the extra g3 helps with maxing and scrapping level 26 ships.

    The Outlaw research tree has some absolute necessary research nodes. From efficiencies to ship survivability it is a must. The downside is that there is a lot of one trick pony research in between the really good stuff which makes getting there a pain in the ass.

    Also, we need regular and frequent Apex events or more sourcing for the Apex Research Medals from that event store. I am at the point where my research speed/building speed/scrapping speed is costing 1400+ apex research medals per level. Has really ticked me off with that event having been skipped for several months prior to this last screw up run of the event before this SNW arc.

    I use three Stellas. I have two maxed to use in armadas. I send one to armadas that other alliance members run as well as run one myself. The third I keep scrapping and lvling, and using to farm security code. A maxed Pike does help with lvling the ship as you get your M score up. I hit LvL 40 hostiles for 7k exp.

    I've maxed rogue rep, I've 2 Stella and efficiency research. If you are starting out. I do not recommend scrapping anywhere between t5-t8. Rare is a massive wall without Stella efficiency and low reputation. Only scrap at t4 while you have 1 and when you have 2 keep one maxed. The level of the Stella affects loot from hostiles and armadas so having one high while the second muddles through is essential

    Biggest drag for me with progressing the Stella is the multi day cooldown on pulling rare's. I really wish they would move the cooldown to maybe 24 hours rather than the multiday cooldown. Right now I have plenty of rare that is just waiting for a chance to process in the faction store.

    prime stella as soon as you possibly can. scrap a legionary for the ore. It's just wonderful for this ship. secondly towards stella 70 or so never scrap anything short of maxxed stellas. i'm at 40k+ per research now so the 467k doesn't last that long. Prime rouge credits is also pretty nice to get the extra credits later. Absolutely get the red dress refit if possible. the +250% loot drop is wonderful. Second stella research tree also has highway robbery that increases loot drop again. you can get the stella at over 1000% increase in loot drop. that makes buying stuff in the store much easier also. I agree the price jump for almost no extra goo after you become better friends is aggravating as all heck though.

When #2 gets maxed, it gets scrapped and #3 becomes next to max. M137. research costs 250-300K per at this point.

    I'm at accomplice. But I can't get enough rares in order to make a successful recycling of my second Stella..
    And very true it's going to be some grinding. But a very long long long time to grind if I was to never go up to level 29..
    So what I've been doing is grinding at a level 28. Until I have what seems to be a lot of Stella particles. So that it'll be a easier upgrade to my level 29 or whatever it is that's past accomplice.
    .. because even though you can make it to accomplish. It doesn't necessarily guarantee a lot of rares. It takes a long time to master rares that are needed from doing armadas.

    Once your research gets up high enough (M119 for me) Beverly recovers enough shield to do more than fine against even the lvl 40 epics.
    And then with Khan and hull breach you start hitting pretty dang hard.

  • @xypho6468

    I agree with most of what you said.
    I actually got a third Stella, as Nowonshall and UltimateDJz advised.
    While two Stellas is a MUST have, a third is a bit of a luxury, but it actually is very useful too.
    The third Stella allows me to have my maxed Stella, ready to scrap as soon as the second one reaches t9 and the third one should be t5-6 by then.
    So that when I scrap the maxed one, the new high Stella can be used to do the armadas, the mid-range one can help doing armadas too or be grinding for security keys, or be waiting for goo to tier up. The third one will be very quickly t4 and needing some levelling while grinding keys.
    Having three Stellas allow you to have three Stellas at different stages of tiering up and I find that much more comfortable than when I had only 2.
    As for the crew, I use 5,6,Khan. It performs very well (both Khan and 6 are t4)!
    I wonder how it compares to your crew 5,Kirk,Spock....
    When I need a second Stella in armadas I crew it with max damage crew (Riker, Tyler, Georgiou, I even use a preset slot for it) which also performs very well, but note that my M# is mid-range: 81/160, so the crew is starting to not really matter much anymore... I mean, I am NOT going to send a PMC crew in armadas, but like you said, the research is so strong that there is no real need to have a crew providing mitigation.

    Invest in 3 stellas. They sell at each arc store. 5bp per purchase. Why? When we get to the Apex events, and we're rushing for someone to get the red skin in the 2 day armada event, having a second maxed eclipse to participate in armadas is important... and then you've got a 3rd that is scrapping or maxing and can jump into some of the armadas with excess power. Its all about the eclipse armada events for 3, otherwise 2 is just fine.

    If I didn't have access to epic, I'd rather scrap the Stella at tier 6 than tier 7. Rare uranium is TOUGH to get (much harder than epic since you'll get lots of epic credits in chests if your alliance does a lot of armadas). By scrapping as soon as you reach Tier 6/Level 30, you miss the long, long slog of getting enough rare to make it through that tier. At least you feel like you're doing something.
    Once you get access to Epic and get your second stella, take one to max 45 and then work on the second one. Once the second one gets past Rare and into Tier 7, scrap the maxed one and start rolling on the research. You don't have to wait to max them both. The research will help FAR more than the extra boost from being tier 9 instead of 7 or 8 (and tier 7 goes fast)
    You will be swimming in epic and uncommon credits at that point. Rare is actually the obstacle. Then once you scrap a maxed stella, research credits rather than stella particles become the limiting factor. So start collecting those research credits early!

    You probably should have noted that a number of research items in the Outlaw tree have reputation locks. Especially the ore/cry/gas efficiency ones. I have millions of rep to go before I can even level up some of them and I'm at 8.4 million rep right now. Perfect example, crystal building efficiency requires a rogue rep score of 11 million to get to level 7 of it. If I want to finish off Rogue Hulls to level 10 then I need 8.8 million rep. At least I'm close on that one. Scopley desperately needs to reformat how you get rep for the rogue faction because it is way, way, way too slow. They should at the very least make it so eclipse ships give rep for destroying them.

    If you are in an Alliance you will see that if you don't have a high Stella ALL THE TIME you will get very few Armada because you will always be pushed out of them by Players with higher Stellas. So don't even try to play this without 2. Once you got 2 you have to bring the first one to level 9 AND KEEP IT THERE FOREVER. That will allow you to be part of almost all Armadas for Stella and grow at your leisure over and over the second Stella.

  • @lordasp72
    @lordasp72 2 года назад +1

    I always scrap max stellas only. I now have three at my disposal should I want to have 2 tiering up and one scrapping. What is very irritating, slightly touched upon in the video, is the costs vs benefits once you reach partner. Costs double for the warp cells to the 3* fast node systems for the same single warp cell. Even more irritating is there is no difference from partner to outlaw in costs or rewards other than getting past research that has outlaw rep requirements. 600k security codes for 1 warp cell is ridiculous when you look at the lower levels needing far less codes for a warp cell.

    Some math if you are able to scrape tier 5 stella every day you will get 11.1K every day - (this is feasible). That's 77.7K in the week every week. Tier 5 stella scrapping time is 14 hours, you can do almost 2 in a day. Sometimes it works then you have 2 extra. Rounded off 100K per week is possible. With this strategy. Cost and time are not very high. Takes 15 min each day

  • @Phazonis
    @Phazonis 2 года назад +1

    A few notes on the video:
    1. Stop recommending uping your rep for outlaws:
    You are actually at the absolute best rep level. You have all the medals so unlocked access to all research and have cheaper Uranium than later levels. Upgrading you Rep after that is actually bad for you. You need to grind more Codes and Armada Loot and the raise in Rewards does not scale equally. Example: At Partner you have to spend 10k Rare Loot (about 40-50% increase) to get 2000 Uranium (about a 8% increase). So Rep grinding only makes your exchange rates worse. Rep grind till you are at Revs Level and then do not (you still kinda have to cause research medals)
    2.Scrapping the Stella: Rev pointed to the right places. You either scrap at T4 level 20, T7 level 35 or T9 level 45. Personally i found that scrapping one at T4 and one at T7 gives you a noticeable boost. However most important point is missing DO NOT attempt to level a stella to T9 without Prime Stella Efficiency. I think that prime is at T8 required, because you do not get that much Epic Armada Loot. It of course also helps before that point, but at T8 you only want to spend half the epic uranium for the upgrade.

    Your lack of experience with this ship and exchange in general is kind of showing here. Early on in your Stella experience, the absolute long pole in the tent will be access to rare blue goo so that you can get it past level 30. That is a hard wall for many players in the upper 20s through mid 30s. By the time I was eventually able to move beyond blue goo and get into the epic pink goo, I actually had enough pink goo to kind of blow through the last few tiers of the Stella pretty easily.
    You also can't emphasize scrapping a legionary enough. Getting that Stella efficiency research done is absolutely vital. As you move up and scrap, rebuild, scrap, rebuild, cutting that blue goo wall in half with Stella efficiency is critical. Now that I have that and am in the upper 30s, my only occasional holdup is pink goo.

    My big question is...why does the cost go up with your rep? The lower rep you have, the better the deal you get. At Accomplice, it's 47 loot per, KA 67, and Partner 95. It should go down.

    Although 2 stella are a great idea I've found there's an argument to be made for 3. I have 3 on my main account. 1 of them I maxed and keep maxed. The second I max but don't scrap until I have the uranium available to max another once I scrap this one. The last I upgrade to t4 level 20 with no upgrades filled and scrap it. I never run out of stella particles even though I'm using them to buy mats from the faction store.

    I appreciate this was a how to video, not a rant video, but I do feel you should have offered a warning about the RSS increase between different Outlaw level and how the requirements, especially Epic Uranium increase disproportionate the higher your rank.

      Yes but this is negligible. Your stella ship ability already gives you arround 400% and add to that highway robbery with another buff in the same ball park. You do not need more officers that give Loot.

    WOW. (Lvl39 / server 13 / Full on OUTLAW rank) my rogue store looks nothing like yours. Fingers crossed that is a level thing. My two cents is that the Rogue Store Stella Particles to crystal, gas, ore is NOT worth it. There is just not really a solid reward to the cost of the particles. It does appear that the Stella uranium pay out / reward and use is really set up on about a 6 to 8 week rotation (if you do not buy any booster packs in the store and only claim one pack per opportunity. Totally agree, I had explored different levels but I prefer to wait a little extra time and MAX Stella 2 because the particle reward is just so much more compared even to Level 40. Also recommend getting the refit skin when it comes available to you. Those extra rewards can help cut the time you are on the game. As always, thank you for the content.

    You should do an analysis of epic uranium/times required to get the epic uranium versus particles returned.
    Basically is it worth the last gun on the Stella to get to T9 since that epic uranium requires like a 3 x 3-day waits.

Unless there is some long term use for ops 50+ I don't see the stella as being nothing but a huge waste of time like most other ships

    I have a question about features that seem to be missing. At the bottom of the Rogue faction store there's spots available to buy ships parts using medals. I myself meet the requirements of being over lvl 40 and being outlaw rank yet I'm not seeing where to possibly be exchanging Stella particles for them as it's listed in game. I thank you for your time and hope that this isn't yet another thing that Scopely has done without checking their work and it be simply a feature they haven't fully released.

    Grinding that early on in the game itself I have the advantage being done with the Outlaw tree, everything is researched. So, since repair cost of the Stella is very uninteresting, I usually use Kuron Captain, Kang & Linkasa to grind LVL40 Hostiles AND/OR "PAN" Crew, both for better impulse speed so I go as fast as possible, neglecting the additional incoming dmg. This absolutely is directed at those guys with good Stellas, but there's no point in wasting time while stupidly grinding hostiles during those events.
    Unfortunately later on, using the Stella Particles to gain more SHIp Parts comes at a silly rate ... it's really NOT worth the grind, absolutely neglectabel. Coming it at about 500 ship parts for a complete scrapped lvl45 Stella ....
