  • I'm bringing back the old school Trailblazer build, updated for SotO! Here we have a build that packs 3.2k armor and 21k health, yet can output over 25k DPS without relying on jade tech protocols!

      @@Sarcaustik The only thing that changed was the addition of relics and the associated change to runes. Weaponmaster also allows for using previously restricted elite spec weapons, but the build in this video isn't using them.

    Absolutely inspiring
    Also what is it about focus that you prefer to WH and Dagger? Better CC on air along with the projectile hate on air and earth 4?

    • @HardcoreCasualGW2
      @HardcoreCasualGW2  6 месяцев назад +3

      Maybe just habit, but the CC is nice as is having all those extra defenses. I also don't notice much (if any) damage increase using the other options in solo play. But I always advise using whichever weapons you like with this build. It's open world, first of all, and for ele they actually all work well with a build like this (except maybe staff, because staff is...not great).

    I really liked it!
    I'm trying to learn elementalist because I always liked the class but never understood how to play it efficiently.
    Is there any strategy or combo I should focus when playing this build?
    Edit: Would you say this build works with Celestial gear?

    • @HardcoreCasualGW2
      @HardcoreCasualGW2  10 месяцев назад +2

      The unique thing about weaver is that you are locked in to each attunement swap for 4 seconds and your offhand weapon skills are determined on the previous swap. The basic idea is that you don't want to rotate back into elements you previously rotated into so as to avoid being locked into a bar with your dual (3) skill on cooldown. This has to be balanced with what you need in the moment, and you're again more limited in that sense by those offhand skills which may be 4+ seconds away when you need to use them. This is unlike any other class, even other elementalists. It takes some practice getting used to it.
      This build also works great with celestial gear. In fact, I have a video up using celestial fire/earth against the champion chak lobber and it was 2 seconds faster than my trailblazer demo. Celestial also works great with a fire/arcane setup.

    would this be viable for fractals and possibly strikes ?

    • @HardcoreCasualGW2
      @HardcoreCasualGW2  10 месяцев назад +4

      Viable? Technically, yes. But this is an open world build. In groups you'll have support, so it's better to let them do their jobs while you focus on your role as DPS. But this build is pretty close to what you'd use if you want to play condi sword/focus. Just swap trailblazer stats out for viper and switch pyromancer's puissance for persisting flames and you're good to go!
      Update: I don't want to contradict what I said before, but just to test it out I ran strikes and all CM fractals with my guild using this build. It did noticeably lag behind in fights that favor burst damage. However, in fights where that isn't the case it was surprisingly competitive. I even managed to top DPS a couple of times! That was prior to the recent nerfs, too, which impacted this build a lot less than some of the more popular SotO builds that were grossly overperforming. So, the verdict is that this build is surprisingly viable up to and including CM content, albeit not optimal.

      I hope you guys still read this comment: you should try condi scepter or pistol weaver using Trailblazer gear.
      It deals almost the same damage as viper's using utility that convert toughness and vitality to condition damage. With pistol i deal around 41k on dps golem with viper's and 40.5k with Trailblazer. I don't master this build rotation yet as it's new but i'm pretty sure that a good player can reach 43k with Trailblazer which is amazing seing how tanky it is. It makes Fractal CMs and strikes much easier at almost no cost.

    • @IRedpunk
      @IRedpunk 3 месяца назад

      @@rm-vn1eq I went with condi warrior, not only the skills look and play much better, but you get heavy armor on top of a really good base HP pool. Elementalist just can't beat that.

    • @seneworkmoalic1853
      @seneworkmoalic1853 3 месяца назад +1

      @@IRedpunk Well with trailblazer condi weaver you have 3200 armor, 22k hp, 17-37% damage reduction and you are ranged which means you don't lose damage while avoiding attacks. I'm glad you're happy with warrrior but trust me condi ele with trailblazer stuff is insanely tanky while dealing the same damage as other dps builds. Scepter is even tankier with barrier and resistance but pistol deals a bit more damage.

    I know i might be annoying haha
    But to optimize this, try using the "Magnanimous Tuning Crystal" instead of the "Tuning Icicle".
    I went to your build on the build editor and Tuning Icicle gives 2119 condi dmg while the Magnanimous Tuning Crystal gives 2152 condi dmg.
    Yeah its not a big difference but its currently cheaper and gives a little more damage. :D
    That one normally always works better with trailblazers builds.
    Nice damage tho. I remember that when i still ran ele. Sadly engi loses like all its damage if you trade kits of defense. But i like engi anyway.

    • @HardcoreCasualGW2
      @HardcoreCasualGW2  29 дней назад

      There's a complete build link in the comments. Nothing has changed since this video was recorded except a slight nerf to the damage increase from the Elements of Rage trait from 10% down to 7%. As for this particular fight, be aggressive. Get into melee range and pour on the damage. Tip: Position yourself at the edge of melee range. If you stand too close inside the boss hitbox he has a tendency to attempt to run to range. This will make it impossible for you to deal damage effectively and waste your Weave Self buff window, which will prolong the fight and probably mess with your timing for the breakbar at 50%.

    • @HardcoreCasualGW2
      @HardcoreCasualGW2  28 дней назад

      @@sarlarnsulo4097 Well, you might be in luck soon. They're going to buff power scepter and the new spear weapon is going to be a ranged power weapon as well. The problem with power in solo play is that you really need boons (quickness, might, and fury) and you have to go full offensive stats or your damage just won't be very good.
      For elementalist that limits your options to catalyst. And if you want range right now, you only have staff and scepter to choose from. Staff is just bad. Scepter is better as a condi weapon, at least until they buff it. So you're probably looking at limiting yourself to a build that is pretty weak on both offense and defense at the moment.

    • @HardcoreCasualGW2
      @HardcoreCasualGW2  28 дней назад

      @@sarlarnsulo4097 It's not really a thing currently. The condi options are just stronger. But that may change with buffs to power scepter and the introduction of spear as a ranged power weapon.
