I just realized 5 months later than Tealiios have housing wobble and I hate that. If you want the best sound experience, you'll have to film the housings because those wobble inconsistencies will get to you!
The gateron inks have a very tactile and crunchy feel to them that can be very satisfying (for a linear). It’s all preference in the end. If you like a very smooth and muted sound then the yellows sounded good in the video
Have you tried these switches? In terms of feel the inks and tealios are very smooth (not tactile or crunchy in the slightest). Also gateron yellows are much less smooth and louder than the others, but deeper. I think you have your terminology mixed up.
Yes I have all three. I don’t think I worded my comment correctly. The inks are great. They are very smooth, but without lube they have a bit of crunch to them which I like.
When you respect how much time it must have took to 1 put all the switches on to your keyboard, 2 to then lube all of the switches, 3 to then put on all the lubed switches
I use both Tealios(v2) and Ink Black... Both lubed and filmed. Tealios is a tad smoother and on the other hand, Ink Black sounds “creamier”. Nonetheless, I love both switches!
I know I'm replying 3 months after you posted this, but I was just wondering if you could recommend me a good film for the tealios v2's? I don't know a lot about filming and if you have already done it, then I would greatly appreciate your insight on the subject. :)
Speaking from experience, my Black Ink V2 felt minimally smoother than the Tealios V2. I ended up lubing all of the Black Inks mostly due to their (subjectively) nicer sound.
hi I believe the gateron yellows have a 65g bottom out. There's a reddit thread on the spring curves. I use Alpacas with 62g springs and Gat yellows feel a tad heavier
I currently use the Gateron Milky Yellows and Gateron Black Inks on my keyboards both lubed. Best bang for the buck. The Gateron Black Inks feel super smooth when lubed though the actuation force takes a bit getting used to especially if you're coming from reds.
Just out of curiosity, where did you get the info of around a 50g actuation force on the Tealios V2? I only ask as I was told it was closer to 38-40g in the ZealPC Discord. I'm not sure which is correct, at the moment.
I pushed the Gateron Yellow and V2 together to see which one would move down first, but they looked the same. But it is actually 38g by spec, but feels like a Gateron Yellow Spring, IMO. (Also wasn't clear if the R7 was the Tealios V2 or not)
@@Dubufy haha at this point my friend is trying to convince to me just get milky yellows. Making my first board and I am very fearful of blacks and inks being 2 heavy. Milky yellow might be my move.
I currently have yellows and they're a banger. I also use sorbothane to giving it a nice "thock" sound. It's a nice sounding balance. Those 2 = sexy time
Milky Top Tealios for me. The top housings don't make enough of a difference in smoothness for me to really care, so I swap the top housings to milky tops to lower the pitch. The icing on the cake on this is also the option to use the Gateron Yellow spring if you buy Milky Yellows. Tealios pretty much ruined it for me on linears because I haven't found anything smoother lol.
So what are you using? Tealious with the Milky Top and the Yellow spring? Does it make a big difference in sound/feeling. I wanted to get the Tealious.
@@lucas.3114 Yes, I'm using that. The milky tops remove a lot of that "pop" from the stock Zeal tops, which is essentially that pitch I'm referring to. If you don't really like that sort of clack, then I would recommend it. It made a huge difference for me, but some people prefer to keep the Tealios the way they are because that's what they prefer. As far as the springs, I use the Gat Yellow springs because I like the weighting of that better, but the stock V2 springs (67g) are pretty nice. Either spring should be bag lubed as the spring ping is noticeable. If you get the Turquoise Tealios, I would definitely recommend spring swapping those if you don't like a shorter travel distance. The springs in the Turquoise ones are a bit shorter than the regular V2's. All in all, Tealios are great and would benefit greatly from both lubing and filming. As for lubing, the Zeal bottoms are already very smooth as they are, so you can easily get away with lubing only the stems. I've done that for my build and I honestly can't tell the difference between lubing only the stem and lubing the whole thing (bag lubed the springs of course). For films, Drewkeys or THICC films are my recommendations, but Deskeys are also great for the Gateron hourings. Highly recommend them if the price doesn't faze you at all!
Just wondering, does Gateron change their leaf shapes depending on tactiles/clicky/linear? Akko ocean blues I feel have the best bump, it's smooth, not aggressive and amazing price range and you can probably frankenswitch the Full Milky Yellows Pro housing with the Akko stem
@@Romsicle im not sure if thats true for all switches tho? I know outemu change their leaf depending on their switch type. The clickys/tactiles seem to have more of a pronounced bump than linears. But ill take your word on gaterons as I have no linears to compare my tactile

And also to add, I purchased some KS-9 Yellows which are close to the same price as the standard Gat Yellows and they are fully transparent, have a much tighter fix (don't need to be filmed), and come prelubed very well.
How do these compare to the Gateron linear optical switches. You said in a previous video that they were smoother than the regular gaterons. Does this hold up with the black inks and Tealios?
That's a great question! My Gateron black optical sound almost identical to the Gateron Ink Blacks so I think it's safe to say that they definitely hold up against those two.
