I get such a kick out of watching the ingenuity of these people that have so much less to work with that I do when it comes to fixing and repairing something. I flip on the lights in the shop, look at a plethora of welding machines, mig, tig, stick, innershield, dualshield, the lathe, mill, ironworker, and everything else I have at my disposal and just shake my head at all the negative comments these videos generate from people who probably couldn't figure out even where to start if they were tasked with trying to repair things like we see on here. Oh well, I'm impressed by what these guys do and all the effort they put into everything they do! Thanks for the videos from someone in America who is blessed to have so much but so often wishes for more, shame on me! You Go Guys!!
People like myself & others in the Western/Developing worlds criticise these craftspeople because we have laws protecting most of us from serious accidents. Also, we’re able to go to the local store & purchase a new one or even go online & buy a restored items at a reduced price. The people in these areas of certain countries do not have that luxury. So they rely heavily on people like this gentleman who are prepared to repair what people can’t replace because of financial or location problems. In my opinion it’s what I call ‘ Adapt & Overcome!’ So next time we criticise we should remember their circumstances. Have a good day.
excellent work, precision and ingenuity, knowing how to repair/rebuild is an art now forgotten in favor of "buy and throw away" Congratulations from Italy
You are a hard working man with many skills. I love watching your shop work, it reminds me of watching my father work. He didn’t have the money to go run and buy everything. He made with his hands and brains.

Thank you for showing us, your very skillful job in repairing this wrench. You are very talented and skillful in taking care of this project. You are a plus in your field and do a very good job in repair tools. Good luck and many more good years for you.
Available machine tools? Remember: this is filmed in London, UK or probably Marseille, France. If it were filmed in Pakistan, we would see developement workers all over the place.
@@josemontelongo736 In 1965 we went to Mexico City. From there we went to the very southern part of Mexico. The village is called Wadashutha, it is where this machine shop is located. I asked my Mexican friend about thier clothing, he said they are wearing "Zoot Suits". He said they might be part of a machinist's gang or something. Maybe they have joined a machinist's union, and now they wear this type of clothes. You do not know all of the facts my friend.

Well done, good use of the tools available to this tradesman, the extra things i would've done would've been: full seal weld of the inside of the repaired clamp, and sand a paint to original colors to look new 😊
I go thru the comments ..and I see so much jealousy and hate just remember they do the best with what they have available __most of the critics here wouldn’t do have the work with double the technology ….
I really like the horizontal milling setup of the jaw teeth! The teeth fitting together is completely irrelevant, having them face backward - towards the handle is VERY important!

Especially when wearing that robe thing. It's scary to watch someone put themself in so much danger over a part that is designed to be easily replaceable. I can't even find a machinist where I live that wouldn't laugh me out the door. Impressive workmanship but that steel chunk seems small and I really doubt it will hold up.

Well they got a machine shop that does custom work at an affordable rate.
Thats someting we don't have.
You have what you have in America because your ancestors worked to build it up, there is no shame in it, CNC machines didn't fall from the sky .
These people are genius, they are very creative with what they get in their hands 👍
And they sure know how to make full use of that Lathe!
He puts more engineering into repairing it than the chinese did manufacturing it.
