One of the few and most realest interview I've ever had to draw inspiration from..."i hate being a boss...i think I'm a great leader...I'm Only looking for passionate people"
Been reading the comments and I don't usually comment on any videos but considering the amount of people below that have called him materialistic, privileged, and somewhat of a creative "waffler," really seem to tick me off. This man is creating a legacy and the most beautiful thing about his journey is the fact that he has built everything from the ground up. He knows exactly what it means to grind and do the time. Whether or not his uncle was in the shoe game, when there is enough passion, anything can be achieved, and that's word to Ronnie Fieg. No matter what family he was born into or what connections his family had access to... he has worked for every single thing he has in his life. Especially that Rolex that he has on his watch, that he gets to buy because he's a man of quality and excellence. He doesn't buy the watch for you, he buys the watch for himself. The Jewish people are some of the most respected people in the world because they are people who understand what it is to be devoted, and this community has suffered some of the greatest oppression the world has ever witnessed. AND, this same community is frowned upon for having earned their place in the financial brackets they are in. Everyone in this life has had to face adversity, and it's 2020, so if you are talking about privilege and "because he's Jewish," or because he's white or because he knew the right people... grow up and worry about your damn self and about your own damn life and the quality of it, because that is exactly what Ronnie did, and look at where he is now. In this life, we do not choose the cards we are dealt, but we do choose what we do with them, and Ronnie took his cards and did what he saw fit. He followed his passion and he didn't ask to be his uncle's right hand man, he asked for a JOB, at 13!!!!!!!! I want to know how many of you were working at 13 and running as stock boy and probably doing much more than just that to earn a place for himself in the industry. Most of you in the comments don't even know what it is like to work a day in your life for the things you so desperately desire, and it really irks me that many are so quick to judge and discredit Ronnie and the brand that he has built. If you have anything negative to say about Ronnie, there's something you got to work on internally, and that's for you to dig deep and evaluate about yourself, if you're ready and capable enough to face that. I wish you the best of luck. Peace and Blessings to you, and Thank you Complex for an AMAZING interview.
Damn i look at these for inspiration, and i don’t want to come off as hating, but i leave every episode thinking “ok, have a cousin that can hook you up”
Well yes and no. Anyone can be put on by someone in a position of wealth and power. Not anyone though can create their own brand and design their own products that resonate as much as he has. Everyone does not have that creative spark, passion, and vision to create like he said. That was his passion, not to make money because he could have continued to work for David and made tons of money, and or work for other large brands and make bank. He was more passionate about creating products. That is hard to do. His brand sparked out of his products which is also unquie because it's the opposite of how it usually happens.
The fashion/shoe designer turned brand are the most interesting come up stories. Complex should have told more of these type stories on the Blue Print series. This interviewer is great because he's knowledgeable and doesn't kiss ass or ask lame questions. It's too bad that shows like Blue Print aren't shown attention like Sneaker Shopping or Full Size Run . I enjoy shows like this one so much more than those
I love hearing the the come up stories. They remind me to stay focused and get back on track. You can make things happen if you pay attention and create based upon what you're good at. Now that we have the internet in a way where everyone is watching and their barrier to entry is low anything is possible.
Man, lots of people hatin' on the man because he's a jew and he had a hook up. The "hook up" you're refering to is also called an "opportunity". Do you now how easy would it be for a kid to just lay back on a weekend and not going to a work??? He had the right mentality since a very young age. Jealous people should have that same mindset too...
Jake Paps yes but he also says that his mother was into materialistic things. That being said I'm sure they were well off. A lot of people who are rich like to say that they grew up with nothing. His idea of growing up with nothing was probably a nice home and food on the table.
