It’s not over consumerism it’s about exposure. People have different taste in guns. People want to know what guns are out there. How else would people know what guns are out there without gun videos on different guns. Otherwise every vid would be about a Glock 19.
I run at least 400-500 rounds of jacketed hollow points through my guns for a video. I just title the video that. Keep in mind those titles are also a marketing strategy.
When I do a video it’s because I like the gun more than I didn’t and I tell you what I do and don’t like.
The reason videos drop at the same time for new guns, is because companies send guns before hand weeks and months in advance and say you can’t drop the video until a specific date. So everyone drops the video as soon as that date comes to get views before everyone else.
Everyone calls me a shill and I’m ok with it, but I never lie in my videos so I don’t care. Even when I say something negative about a gun I still get called a shill, which is hilarious to me
The views on training videos are abysmal and they’re the most expensive and time exhaustive videos to make and no one watches them.
Just felt like dropping my thoughts. Keep at it.

You’ve got to make money and videos require time and money.
There is no shame in receiving money to advertise products that you’ve vetted. It’s good for the viewers as well.
The issue comes down to guntubers who are trying to sell snow to eskimos and don’t put value on their approval for a product.
Thanks for the content Colion. A friend gifted me one of your AR-15 hoodies.

This is exactly why I sat long and HARD and dwindled my collection down to 10 guns and I stopped. I get that itch when something new comes out, sure…but I just rent it at the range so I dont have the “fear of missing out”.
I have a lifetime to become proficient w/ my 10 guns and Its brought me alot of peace. Getting new guns is cool. But when I look in the safe and im spending hundreds to thousands of dollars on stuff thats just sitting there while im itching to buy something new that will inevitably just sit there then I have to be honest: I don’t have a gun addiction. The only honest reviews are those that are bought from off the shelf gun stores with their own money. A gun sent to a reviewer is potentially cherry-picked and, therefore, is not a legitimate representation of what a consumer will actually purchase. I can't remember how Outlaw gets his guns for review, but I think he buys them himself, thus making his reviews a lot more credible than most, and it keeps him from needing to say positive things about said products to keep the manufacturer from cutting them off.

Or should I just buy the best-feeliing subcompact & train with it, keep my 19/20 around the house & train less w/ them? I can afford to buy a new full-sized & the same make of sub-compact. Good stuff, I think there's a huge difference between the top dogs and the smaller channels like us though.
We shoot 1,000 rounds minimum for any hand gun or rifle... For shotguns I have always felt 500 rounds is more than enough to give an opinion.
I would say, when you see a bunch of review come out at once it's due to the almighty embargo. There's somehow this magic thought that we all get paid to push and the truth is we are extremely transparent if we're paid to do a review (which we haven't been yet). At some point, you have to accept that to make a living off of "gun tube" we need to make money. My channel still costs me anywhere from $3k-$5k/mo out of my own pocket to run; and as much as I'd love to keep doing that it NEEDS to be profitable to survive. RUclips makes it next to impossible to get ad revenue from them for this stuff, so if people LIKE watching gun videos online they have to be okay with and understand that running an ad in the video or getting paid to talk about a gun is inevitable. Not every sponsor is a scam, not every channel is a money factory (I know mine isn't)

Also, most people need a solid product and not a "nice" product. I let myself think I needed a 500$ optic and so i got it only to get the same result with my 200$ optic. On the bright side, you don't usually lose that much when selling gun related stuff so at least if you have remorse you wont be out too bad.

Carry rotation is foolish for most. The more you change platforms the more you change up shooting style and proficiency. Carrying and practicing with the same platform helps build the proficiencies needed in self defense situations. Not everyone will be, or even is an operator. The best practice is to get proficient on one stock platform. Once proficient then you can introduce another. For example, presenting a Glock and an sig will change where that front sight is. Staying with one platform helps you from having to chase the front sight on different platforms.

      @austin86897 2 месяца назад +9

@@s7lresearchdr.311 It has nothing to do with my own skill level. It does however, have everything to do with the everyday Americans skill levels. Just watch how poorly people shoot as it is. I’ve watched plenty. Whether it was in the military or in the civilian sector. Not to mention the joke qualifications for concealed carry. I wouldn’t trust 95% of gun owners to be by my side in a self defense situation. Let alone in a war. The majority don’t practice enough to even be proficient on one platform style. How could you expect a rotation to help that in any way? Finding a platform that works best for you is beneficial. Running platforms that you barely have any experience with is foolish. Like I said, foolish for most. Not foolish for all. People expect upgrades and all the fancy bull to make a crappy shot, into a marksman. Fundamentals and repetition are key. Also to say I don’t have any real insight on other peoples proficiency isn’t valid. Before making statements like that, you should figure out the details for validity. I’ve got plenty of experience and capability to be able to make the statements that I’ve made. I do find it funny how you say you respectfully disagree, then go on and try and target me with misinformation that you have absolutely zero knowledge about. If what I said bothered you, then it may mean you need to work on your own proficiency. Best of luck to ya.

The US dollar is well done because the FED is about to implement their digital id and currency where you will have a direct line to the FED via the account that they have wrapped up in a nice bow waiting for their opportune moment so they can shift the blame off themselves and provide their diabolical solution they've had 100 years to concoct to perfection with their quantum computers and AI. Even banks have started telling people to buy gold and that's their main competitor. FED's been buying more gold than ever before. The largest accumulation of gold is under wall street. So anyone pushing precious metals, no matter what their intent is, you will 100% benefit from it. How much purchasing power has silver lost in 100 years? A big fat 0 and has gained value and is so under valued that when it's common knowledge that the dollar is done silver will skyrocket because of the gold/silver ratio. How much purchasing power has the dollar lost in 100 years? 99% and they're coming for that last 1%. Getting out of dollars is the smartest thing 1 could do at this moment in time and I mean like before this coming Wednesday. I apologize for the length of this message but I have to give you info that you can go verify to be sure that I'm not lying. Look up on the fed's own website the money velocity and how many bills are in circulation. You lower inflation by making the banks start holding the money and inflation immediately comes down. Inflation is a monetary policy and not because of anything else. Anyone telling you different my friend is a liar and benefits off of your suffering. I'm trying to help people not have to suffer so much, the world is on an overdose of suffering at the moment and people don't understand why. This is why.

Carrying different brands comes with a cost, far as muscle memory, mags, and more holsters. I traded in my CZs and M&Ps, and i just stuck with my favorite, and that is Glock. I have glock in all calibers, the same platform, but different calibers that i can carry, and i never forget the muscle memory, especially if i ever have to use it.
Also, how many damn 9mm do you need in different brands? After a while, it does become a waste of money. I would rather spend the money on training, ammo, and getting familiar with one platform. You have to learn the difference between the gun you like versus a gun you can fight with because it is a difference when your life depends on it. Glocks and M&Ps are fighting pistols. I would give sig an honorable mention, but the rest of those handguns people purchase them just to look good.

💯 I make sure to put 750 rounds minimum through a gun/product before I do a review for it. The only one that didn’t hit the 750 benchmark was the canik TTI. Made it to only 500 because I really didn’t like it. Bought for 975 and sold it 2 weeks later for 700. It was my honest opinion that the canik tti was not worth the price tag and people DID NOT like that 😂 Really digging your channel man 👌

Firearm "rotation" just prevents building muscle memory. I learned this at a competition while repeatedly trying to jam a magazine into the handguard of my Tavor while reloading under stress.
A close friend had a mix of pistols with and without manual safeties. He was involved in a self defense shooting and had his pistol pointed at the armed aggressor but forgot about the manual safety until the last second. It almost got him killed.
I now train with 2 pistol platforms. Full size XDM (I have 3, competition belt, bedroom, car) and the P365 I wear.
Rifles and PCC (308, 5.56, 300blk, 9mm) are AR pattern with similar controls and magazine insertion angles. I know how to operate them, but I don't really mess with my Tavor or AKs as much anymore. HSGI Tacos allow me to stuff any of those magazines into the same belt.

Guess I should rephrase it to a training issue 🤷🏿‍♂️

The most egregious example in my recent memory of guntubers all releasing their commercials for a firearm was the Springfield Hellion.

I appreciate this information. As someone who carry multiple guns. It’s refreshing to hear a content creator make this content. For those who carry multi. Train hard. I have learned that what I was good with. I’m not as good as I learn new platforms. This kicks certain firearms out my rotation. Those who have dedicated guns for winter/summer make sure when you take classes to use those guns in the appropriate season. I.e don’t take your winter gun to a class when it’s summer and vice versa.

I've watched RUclips gun content years before purchasing my first firearm. I was well informed about the various firearms and came to an understanding that there are two modes of operandi as far as training. You are either training to fight or competition. I have purchased everything from that standpoint. So I cant recall wasting any money. Most of my guns I've trained or did some form of competition with. I keep the modifications centered around the specifications of IDPA or USPSA classifications or its set up for home defense, which even IDPA and USPSA mimic.
If you had a mindset of training to fight and or competition from the beginning then you would not have been wasting time and money because you would have been following shooters and learning about the gear and equipment that works. You would also have a point of use so you would be very objective focus with your purchases.

I carried the same Glock 19 for 27 years. Just recently picked up a new 26. Luckily mags, holsters and gear are all compatible. If you are about self defense then you don't need 20 different brands. BUT, if someone just likes to buy new stuff and talk about it, then have at it.

I get the one sword one shield mentality. But I also believe in purposeful carry. My trail gun is not the same as my CCW. My house gun is not the same as the trail or CCW. All of them are revolvers or DA/SA semi-autos. I keep the stable as small and focused as possible. But there is a place to vary carry pieces; if they serve a purpose.

It's funny you say this because I've been looking at lots of reviews and reading to find information a certain guns to get my first one to carry. And I hear a lot/most of them saying they shot about 100 rounds which sounds like a lot to me, but apparently, that's nothing.. I even heard a few of em say they didn't put much time into the gun because of time constraints. Which let me know they just threw out a review video just to have one out there, explaining the most basic things and simply naming and pointing out features of the gun (like the safety button/switch) just to have a video out, which is kind of wild..

Becoming proficient with one weapon informs you what does and doesn't work for you and allows you to make an informed decision when it comes to accessories or another firearm purchase.
My wife and I both bought our first with NO experience. I did a LOT of research on my Girsan Regard MC (Beretta clone), but until I fired it for myself I wouldn't know for sure it was a solid choice. I got lucky. It's accurate, comfortable to me and FUN. It's also huge! I want to conceal as my next step as a firearm owner and that definitely requires a different firearm.
My wife wanted something small, compact, can fit in her purse and chose based solely on that and was misinformed that a .380 would be good for her. WRONG.
In a small, compact gun like hers it kicks like a mofo. Now we don't want it. I hate shooting it, personally.
Many ranges should have the ability to rent or "try before you buy" and I highly encourage that and don't jump to "YES" until a few sessions with a particular firearm.
Also, dry fire. All day, every day. Function check, take apart, put back together, cock, fire (unloaded). Really get to know your firearm INTIMATELY.
    Finally; train, train, train.

I feel like it's a similar issue at gun stores. Did a basic pistol class with several beginners and must have it in their minds to get something today in 9mm cause that's what they said is best and yet you can tell they aren't comfortable. My dudes, get a .22 and have fun just spending time getting better at the basics. It's impossible to convince my wife to come along because of the culture noise and the fear of the people she might meet. It should be more of a fun challenge and education emphasis than the 'you must protect everything' message.
