Had a friend who had memorized Baldwin's God speech in college. We'd be in a bar or at a party and someone would ask him if he had a God complex and he'd nail it everytime. He died just about a week ago, odd I'd have this in my timeline.

It's essentially a remake of an early 90s TV movie called "The Operation" starring Joe Penny and Lisa Hartman, which I'd previously seen (I've pretty much seen every movie know every plot) so sadly I knew exactly what was going to happen. But otherwise yes, it would have been suspenseful. The material was always too good for a TV movie so I'm glad it got another outing with a stellar cast. It was the first time I saw Kidman's potential as a serious actress.

Lawyers and MDs are long time rivals. Both licenses are considered extremely prestigious and proof of tremendous talent and intelligence. Also both licenses do offer the holders privileges the general public doesn’t have (an md can cut you open a lawyer can subpoena private information, both violations we entrust to these people because we hope they will be competent). Also the schooling for both fields is brutally competitive.
But MDs, in my opinion, tend to come out slightly ahead because of exactly this - the whole “ability to save a life” idea is essentially god like. No one ever shouts “is there a lawyer on the train/bus/plane” but they do for doctors.
BUT last laughs on the lawyers now that new healthcare regs have made medical careers slightly more lucrative than being a public school teacher and guess who gets called to consult on the regs?

Would they really sit Baldwin and Kidman directly opposite each other? Wouldn't they be placed at opposite ends of the table? The problem with the script is that when the twists arrive they immediately call into question previous events. There aren't the moments where a twist will make everything that came before suddenly line up correctly in a new perspective. Exceptional cast though.

I have a theory as to why Dr. Hill was denied that job by Dr Kesslar and considered to have a god-complex, and admittedly it may be rather obvious for some, but humor me here.
Dr. Hill may have the academic credentials for his profession, but regarding bed side manor, I dunno, to me he seems
    pretty arrogant.
A demeanor like that can throw any person's professional credentials
    out the window.
Yes, I like this movie and the cast, just making an observation.
I didn't like Nicole K in this movie, Alec B had his good moments, and even the supporting and cameo cast did a nice job.
    But Nicole's character
by this point, I already was questioning her motives. As for Bill Pullman, his character I felt the most empathetic for, esp after he figured everything out.
It was an interesting movie though.
