I like the nostalgic commercials. Plus knowing when this aired, 10/1/93, I was a few weeks into 2nd grade. Good times! Would wake up ready to face the day! Now the weight of the world has destroyed my spirit and all I do is look forward to hitting that pillow at night dreading the morning to come. As for the movies, there are many I remember, and many I never heard of. Adulthood. Overrated--- I didnt want to grow-up, hell I was a Toys 'R' Us kid!
@@andrewbrookes7025 If you've seen Malice, then I can answer that question. If you haven't, I suggest you watch that movie immediately. For reasons already stated, I don't spoil movies if I don't have to.
@@andrewbrookes7025 Remember Andy being suspected of being the rapist? He finds out something after he's cleared of suspicion. And when he leaves a needle on a bed... he knows.
I was surprised as well when Ebert said the serial rapist/killer plot didn't go anywhere. The subplot exists to expose the main plot. I saw that William Goldman was listed in the end credits as something like a story consultant. Goldman's novels use this kind of device, either to take a sudden sharp turn into another kind of story, or to reframe the same story in a very significant way.
@@ricardocantoral7672 a chance I give it another chance one day but with movies if I want to turn it off still over an hour in I can pretty much guarantee I'm not in the mood for it at that time
@@jackdotblue A writer’s brain? Never heard that one before. I don’t know what that means. Even if I had a writer’s brain, whatever that is, I probably wouldn’t understand what you’re talking about.
It’s a shame that the producers and executives took so many liberties with the creative of cool runnings because it is a great story! One thing that isn’t covered in the movie is one of the bobsledders gets hurt and their brother takes his place having never touched the sled and he had three days to get ready. I hope one day someone reboots Cool Runnings and follows the story more factually because it is a great story.
I dont understand why in a show where they were reccomended whether you watch a movie or not they still foreshadow and spoil stuff. Also its so funny that ebert literally complains malice doesnt tie everything up with a neat bow.
out of all of the movies in this review the ones i like is cool runnings and for love or money short cuts is interesting too m butterfly is ok , jeremy irons does give a good performance and Malice seems kinda like baldwin is out of his element which makes the film kinda confusing
Cool Runnings Is a Classic,The Best 💯

Love those 90s commercials
So do I 😊!

Tom Waites is such a surprisingly good actor. I loved him in Down By Law.
He's great in The Ballad of Buster Scruggs too.
Some Musicians tend to make an easy transition into acting. Performing a song is basically a form of acting.
Malice is entertaining but you've to watch it in an over-the-top B thriller kind of way.
I enjoyed the commercials.
cool runnings is a good comedy two tumbs down? unreal
Cool Runnings sucked then and it sucks now. John Candy was good tho.
im surprised they didnt like cool runings. everything they said was kinda valid but the movie is still fun.
Yeah it was absolutely a kid's movie. But it would have been fun to see a true to life version.
"You ask me if I have a God complex. Let me tell you something: I am God.". Yeah Halyna Hutchins can tell you all about that!
They clearly didn't think much of Malice. There is a point to the subplot. I love that movie.
What was the point of it?

Cool runnings man no one disrespect that movie
The Player & Short Cuts were legit comebacks for Altman.Harold Becker did better pictures like Taps & Sea Of Love.
Then came Ready to Wear……
I saw The Player in film class.
It's so funny cause I turned off sea of love after an hour but was deeply engaged in malice
@@pman8478 Shame because you missed out on a good thriller.

18:48 you can see a boom mic at the top
bruh ...after almost 30 years first time i noticed. now i cant un see it...
They probably sent the open matte version for the show
18:48, clearly a boom mic in shot at the ceiling.
Malice is a classic.
Disagree. Nicole Kidman looks hot in it but that’s about it. I just watched it again and it’s still a confusing mess to me.
A little bit of nostalgia for me as I saw this in theaters as a 17-year old. My friend and I enjoyed it as pure schlock.
Entertaining but nowhere near a classic.
Only in the sense that it is old

Malice is fun. I disagree with Siskel and Ebert on this
Alec Baldwin seems to confuse a breathy deep voice with acting.
