From my own archive, here's a syndicated TV special used to promote JAWS: THE REVENGE. Good times from the summer of '87, even though the movie was atrocious!

20:56 Songs From Disney’s Beauty And The Beast Erich Kunzel And Cincinnati Pops Orchestra Version
Back in this era I despised the Hollywood trend of "yelling = emotionally charged and powerful." Now it's "whispering under the music and sound effects is dramatic and suspenseful." Bah, I'm getting old!
Phantasm II is great....
WILLOW is trash. Yes.
Heartbreak Hotel is pathetic. The guy looks nothing like Elvis.
Cocktail is one of the dumbest. Bars are shit.
My oldest sister says that Diety Rotten Scoundrels is funny. R.I.P. Glenne Headley.
Watership Down stands head and shoulders above the rest of this bunch. Ebert whiffs.
Can't agree with their review of Cocktail, it was fun to watch.
I miss these guys
27:14 gotta say it, this unexpected cameo by Eric Clapton is brutal 😢
Regarding the question "Did Spielberg actually direct Poltergeist?," it depends on how literally you're talking. Hooper took care of most pre-production, then during filming Spielberg was a constant on-set presence offering "suggestions" and making "final adjustments" due to Hooper allegedly working too slowly and being indecisive. By post-production Hooper had more or less disappeared and the editing and scoring was done under Spielberg's supervision. So to say that Hooper didn't direct Poltergeist isn't fair, I don't think, but there is a juicy story there about Spielberg giving a lot of help/interference (depending on your point of view) due to some perceived incompetence on Hooper's part.
Rest In Peace Heather O'Rourke & Dominique Dunne 😔🙏🏻💚 It's just not fair. Too young.
Truth or Dare Madonna biography was pretty good but not complaining about it. She's was icon in singing but her acting it's decent.
2 and a half years for murder?!?! How did they get away with that? Wow!
46:38 YES! Sydney Pollack was very charismatic and very natural actor
Will Sampson talked to Floyd Westerman shortly before he passed away and said he felt this was happening to him because of the skeletons used in the movie. RIP Will Sampson😢
Roger is way off on Blue Velvet - that film is pretty much an irony-free zone. I can relate to his viscerally negative reaction, though. When I watched Hereditary for the first time, I strongly disliked it, but not so much for its gruesome content as for the sense I had that the director was standing just offscreen, laughing at his characters’ suffering. In retrospect I think it’s just as likely that he sympathised tremendously with his characters and wrote it as an exorcism of sorts, an expression of pain at the horrors of human suffering.
The vomit monster traumatized me for YEARS until i was 12. I couldnt get near skeletons or tequila worms
He only got 6 yrs??? For manslaughter? Strangulation takes four minutes of premeditation. 😮

Lived there at the time. That shit was candy ass to compared to what goes ln the west. I've seen in terms of just snowfall over 50 storms with higher snow accumulation. Once saw 74 inches in a day
Double fart with cheese on two lard buns
Shocked that Michael didn’t like “The Shawshank Redemption”! One of my favorites!
"If I let you go, do you think you could fly?" lol. Me and my brother used to say that to each other all the time when we were kids. lol. The Good Son is great. Watch it more as a dark comedy and don't take it too seriously. For film critics who watch movies all day long they sure did get their panties in a wad about certain material. Maybe it was just the times. Maybe take a look at Culkin's real life and that of other young actors back then.... much more sinister than any movie could ever dream of.
I have happy memories of watching these two back in the 80s and 90s. Apparently, if you worked in downtown Chicago, it wasn’t uncommon to run into one or the other of these hometown heroes. It’s worth searching on RUclips for their appearances on Letterman: very entertaining.
A hundred times I heard the name "Carol Anne"!!!!!
Why they can not stop to fight at least in one of their shows? At least once
To me the winner of 1989 Oscar for Best Picture should have been "Mississippi Burning"
I miss these guys
I feel so jealous of Siskel and Ebert for be able to meet and talk with these legends of cinema...
The thumbnail looks like Siskel's making fun of Ebert for crying
Why hasn't Leonard's "This movie is INSANE!" been memed yet? He's a national treasure.
Zelda Rubinstein is iconic.
Rex Reed makes a face about Clint Eastwood's voice that looks straight out of an SNL parody, he really didn't understand what made Siskel and Ebert work. Thank you for posting this.

Great video, i do not know if the movie was cursed, or not, but It was really sad, that many actors of this movie died.
Gene missed the boat on Unlawful Entry Ray Liotta character is a psychopath and it's clear he's obsessed with her and his only option in his mind is to assault her. Sure, the attack scene is nasty but it doesn't go on too long and makes the final point that Ray Liotta got to go.
Raging Bull was also an artistic treatment about an awful human being and Roger Ebert loved it.
In 1989 Ebert and Siskel spent together already more than 10 years in TV. Too many movies, reviews, disagreements, statements; to watch their early days is quite strange, they talked really softly and had that impossible 70s look
I remember the movie was rated Adult Accompaniment in our city (Canada). Of course, that was before PG-13 was invented.
Pulp Fiction was a classic
Listening to this pair simp so disgracefully for Madonna was unbearable. How could they possibly believe even a second of that documentary wasn't completely fake?
I was 15 and living in Chelmsford Mass with my family at this time! No school, at Chelmsford High school, for days and a dark gray sky with no sun, and my family, myself and my friends spent DAYS shoveling out the driveways of our homes and neighbors homes!
What an idiot reporter. The good son was an excellent movie. Still IS
Honestly. I have everything I need in life ... and I miss me being 10 in 1990 siting in the family room watching TV with my mom and dad
My god, I miss these two.
