Oh my god the intro music when a bunch of studio musicians would get together and bang out a gem nowadays you get just OH MY GOD I forget how statuesque Gina Davis was!!!
debgibsonfan So is Earth Girls. These guys were way off in this episode. Their conservatism caused them to pan many of the best-loved movies of the 80s and 90s, while praising boring, now long-forgotten “prestige pictures.” (I still love Siskel and Ebert.)

“What are your looking for? The motivation of the aliens?” Gene really could be a stiff sometimes. He often seemed to watch movies expecting them to be Citizen Kane.
Post suicide attempt, Pryor was reduced to Stepin Fetchit type nonsense and it was all complete garbage. I remember watching the abysmal "The Toy" and wondering how he was reduced to such garbage. Superman III was another steaming pile of Pryor dogshit. Even his stand up act died, got too preachy. Thank goodness for Richard Pryor: Live in Concert, so I can always go back and see the real, funny Pryor.
Some caller on KGO radio recommended this film when it first came out on video. I rented it with my friend, and we both sat there watching the thing and not laughing at a single thing the movie. Total garbage and a complete waste of time.
A few of the later movies that were done as a duo (Richard pryor and Gene wilder) just were not very well made and were not funny ,and sad to say Both of them but especially Richard were way past there acting and comedy primes........
Earth Girls Are Easy is pretty awful and runs out of gas after the aliens lose their fur. Interesting to note that Jeff Goldblum and Gena Davis were married at the time, but just months away from getting divorced.
@@littlekingtrashmouth9219 That's exactly what I was going to say. I watched that movie again this year because I LOVED Sam Jackson's character in it, but because I first saw it as a teenager, I remember her being much cooler than she looks today. Kind of silly, really. That's a movie that wouldn't get made the same way today.
Pryor and Wilder were always wildly overrated as a comedy team. Mildly amusing at best in Silver Streak, then progressively more awful in their subsequent movies.
Mildly amusing ? They were hysterical in Silver Streak and just as good in Stir Crazy. After that, not so much. As Gene stated, Pryor lost his edge after his accident. He started playing good natured dopes.
These two could be real pricks but back then, they were the most popular movie critics so what can you do? I disagreed with their reviews all the time!

I have no idea why Earth Girls Are Easy exists. I’m more stunned than amused by it.
The most stunning part is who the three aliens are. Comedy platinum today.
See no evil is one of my favorite 80s comedies
Few things can shine a light on a time period more than advertisements, whether it's the 1880's or 1980's. Everything about them screams "this era"
Oh yeah
Thanks for sharing this. I miss those guys.
"How to Get Ahead in Advertising" is excellent.

When modern RUclips ads interrupt your vintage 80's ads.
ads? Are you stupid or something?

I like Earth Girls... You have to take it with a grain of salt, Gene. It wasn't meant to be a serious look at alien life, or even science fiction.
Ebert's comparison on Grant and Woods is spot on.
Roger was always more fun
And more articulately spoken
There's a young Jim Carrey, in "Earth Girls Are Easy" there.
and Damon Wayans too.
"What, are you looking for the motivation of the aliens?"
Boom. Roasted.
OMG Denzel with a British accent
anonymous name #ForQueenAndCountry was awesome. Seek this movie out.
@@MrBoyYankee It is a good movie. i understand that Denzel Washington spent some time in British pubs to adapt an authentic British accent.
With a terrible English accent 😂
That's funny, because in the '90s David Hemmings played the father of Amanda Donohoe's character on an episode of L.A. Law!
Se No Evil, Hear No Evil also had a then little-known actor named Kevin Spacey as one of the henchmen.
Anybody remember Opportunity Knocks?
Geena and Jeff were also in The Fly. Whilst Jim was in Peggy Sue Got Married and The Dead Pool
Julie Brown's music in that clip is _truly_ unfortunate.
Seems to be a British theme in this episode!

So the Raid roach bait makes roaches disappear into thin air?
E Girls: B+
How to get a head in business would of been perfect in The Young Ones
wiould OF?

Damn, Gene didn't like a single film they reviewed here.

And jo jo dancer, your life is calling.
The Toy, Jesus H. Christ. A film featuring Jackie Gleason and Richard Pryor should have been something special.
I like your profile pic. "What would you say you do here?". "I HAVE PEOPLE SKILLS! I AM GOOD AT DEALING WITH PEOPLE!"

Me too?
Gene sure got it wrong about Earth Girls Are Easy. Party pooper. I expected Roger to hate it and Gene to like it.

I didn't know that.
Geena Davis still looking pretty good here, right about the time wall hitting commenced.
Long kiss goodnight was her last hurrah

On Earth Girls Are Easy, I side with Siskel. There were some fun scenes, but overall the movie was pointless. It wasn't awful, but hardly good.
It did have that fun "Cause I'm a Blonde" song, though.
But just like Gene, you're forgetting that it's not claiming to be Amadeus or Glory.
Gene didn't like Earth Girls Are Easy?! Ass...

Earth GIrls is pretty much a knockoff of Idiots From Outer Space with a few minor changes.
