Everything that she stated in this video happened with me. As soon as I started to pray over my hair, my hair grew rapidly. I applied olive oil and coconut oil and braided it like she mentioned. I also changed my diet and made sure that I took multi vitamins and drink my greens. I also prayed specially about what I wanted like she mentioned in the video. Why is it that everytime a 4C natural shows off a beautiful hairstyle, people don't want to believe that it's a 4C curl pattern? It's as if the hair is too beautiful, therefore it CAN'T possibly be a 4C! 4C is beautiful, too y'know. Don't let the coarseness fool you. -_-
Believe it or not people do catorgorize their hair wrong. I did it for almost a whole year til I did further research. It's not about because its long or beautiful that it can't be 4c. I think the other viewers think she possibly catorgized wrong by looking at the video. But than again its a video. She looks more 4B or mixture of 4B/4C. It's more of an observation than a put down. Her hair is beautiful no matter what type it is. JMO.
I disagree. If you take a look at her shrinkage video, her hair is absolutely a 4C. If you want to see a 4B, take a look at NikkiMae2003 on RUclips. THAT is 4B hair.

I prayed for my hair and every area I need improvement for stress at times warfare etc. effects physically as well spiritually.

I've prayed over my hair as well. It was thinning so badly due to Lupus medications and relaxers. I prayed for thick long hair and took action to stop using relaxers (faith without works is dead). My hair is longer and thicker than it's EVER been! Keep it up girl!

I love your hair story! I prayed for I think almost 4 years for waist length hair before my hair journey. Then God led me to the right places at the right time! And my hair kept growing. God is great!

LolasCurls Yes i had a similar thing happen. I think God showed me long before. But it wasn't until I started to believe in the possibility that I actually was able to receive. Then I read a book and really started studying. God is good and I am blessed!
Some people think it's a joke. OBVIOUSLY she's a woman of God. If you could pray to get your hair longer and stronger I'm sure you'd do it too. Difference is she wasn't depending on prayer alone. Like everyone says. God helps those who helps them themselves and she was still taking care of her hair, herself on her end and she got exactly what she wanted.

Your hair is def 4c and it's beautiful! Don't listen to these "natural know- it-all". They seem to think that they are more informed on natural hair and or any and everyone natural hair but it's obvious to see that they're not and the best thing to do is just ignore them. wow i prayed that same prayer in 2013 when my hair was so damaged and broken because i pick at my hair when i'm studying. I remember taking my weave out one day and i was so shocked by my length. my friends that had never seen my hair before were saying "but you said your hair was short, this is far from short" and i was like GOD GREW IT!!!!
I was just praying to God to help me grow my hair but then I thought to myself that God isn't interested in that stuff... Then I stumbled upon your video... God works in mysterious ways. Great video! My mom experienced explosive growth of waist length hair in 3 years from when I big chopped it in 2012. I asked her to lay her hands on MY hair and pray for me because I've been natural 5 years but my hair seemed stunted. Since she prayed for me, I think this is the thickest my hair has been in my 5 years of being natural and I finally see real growth! All glory to God for answering prayers! Prayer should have been my 1st thought instead of several hundreds of dollars in products later! Thanks for sharing.

You have been a blessing to me.I did not know of 1corithians promise of long hair. I claimed it in prayer and my hair went from 1/4 inch a month to 1/2 inch. At this rate I will have 12 inch hair by december. I will give an update. Right now my hair is 8inches long. I went from bald spots and a shaven head to no spots thick 8 inch hair! God bless you :)

Although I was surprised I rejoiced because I know prayer works! I love that you were not afraid to say it outloud to your 60K+ subscribers. Those who believe in our Most High God and the power of prayer will allow your video to resonate in their spirit. For those who do not believe, well, we know they will have harsh words or ill thoughts towards it. All I have to say about those is "Oh ye of little faith!" Because of this video I was reminded of what God told me to do as well, and yet I have been inconsistent with doing so. That is to spray my hair with water every night. Thing is I never thought to pray about my hair as a Christian. I would say I cut my hair last year and had no peace like I had before and the Lord did speak to me concerning me not liking my natural hair. I'm now transitioning after relaxing and not liking it. I will prayer now too

Yes. My hair was long in my youth and it began breaking alot recently. I began rebuking curses that were placed on my hair by beauticians that God would bring to my remembrance, that would act as if my 4 C hair was a problem to handle and their comments. I have had to forgive them and denounce their word curses. I began to bless my hair. This has to be done everyday. I now only go to a Dominican lady that speaks pleasantly over my hair. I have been asking God to return my length that is mine from my youth. This is true.
For the doubters, there is actually a logic to any type of prayer, belief or meditation. Essentially such acts focus our minds on our desires and so you become more focussed on behaving in a way that will manifest the want or desire i.e. better hair practices, nutrition etc. The net result if there is enough focus is the desire being manifested.

When i first cut my hair off for the BC, i began praying from day one because my hair has always been a big insecurity of mine. 2 years later, my hair is now a bit past my shoulders, healthy and thick. To God be the glory because i've literally just been praying about learning how to take care of my hair and also asking God to keep it healthy!

I just checked that out. I've been intrigued ever since I first heard Daphne mention this a few years ago and wanted to know what the reasoning behind spraying the scalp was. But it makes so much sense now - if our bodies (and scalp) represent the soil / hearth we came from, then watering it regularly would encourage the head plants (hair).
Just curious to know for all those who are saying her hair is not 4c, give me 5 big name youtubers with LONG 4C hair ... don't worry I'll wait. Smh, y'all complain that we don't have a large representation of long haired 4c RUclips gurus but when we FINALLY have one y'all attack this woman. What? its not possible for a woman with the kinkiest texture out there to have hair growing at the AVERAGE rate?? whether you are a 4A or 4Z it does not matter!! God has given us beautiful hair from ALL races. As for those commenting on her praying and growing her hair through prayer with God ALL things are possible and hair growth is not exempt from Gods blessings. We forget that we can pray to our heavenly father for any and EVERYTHING because he cares. Just because you do not feel the need to pray over your hair or even over your life do not knock this beautiful young lady for what she desired from God and got. Yes as a baby my hair wasn't growing and was really short so my mom prayed for it to grow and I now have long thick natural hair and I'm always getting compliments on it and I've never gotten a perm, but I do have heat damage so I'm planning on starting over.

Thank you so much D, I used to hear my friend in varsity saying, "she prays for her hair", and would not believe until my hair was cut whilst sleeping. It has passed shoulder length going to waist so I decided to start afresh. I prayed about it and anointed my hair. You have just inspired me, will continue praying and do mabhanzi.
*_This verse 1 Cor _**_11:15_**_ is the Apostle Paul teaching that a woman's long hair is equivalent to a covering or veil_*. Therefore, a woman with long hair has no further need to wear some piece of cloth for a covering; her hair is her covering. That's one less thing to worry about because back in that era, a woman would be breaking religious law and brought shame to her husband to not cover her head; especially if she was prophesying. *_This was a custom that had been in place for centuries and still exist in many cultures to this present day that women must wear a covering over their heads_*. PEOPLE HAVE TO KNOW THE HISTORY of the Cultures in Biblical times to be able to properly interpret the Bible verses. _READ 1Cor __11:13__-15 not just verse 15_, to get a better understanding or go over it with your pastor.

Thanks for reminding me of the Word of God that says we HAVE our hair as our glory. I always wanted what I saw in other sisters when it came to my hair. I began to pray the prayer of faith, asked the Lord to teach me about MY hair and what it needs to grow, and I stayed consistent within a short period of time. I began to love my hair and the more I loved it, the more I wanted to care for it. I began my regimen at the beginning of April and already three weeks in I have gained half an inch. That is ALOT for me and I am very grateful to the Lord for increasing my glory!

This is the perfect example of someone who focus her life so much in God that he granted her one of the desires of her heart that was having long hair.

I absolutely love your approach. Yes, God will give our heart's desires (Psalm 37:4). And if we ask for wisdom, he gives it freely (James 1:5). This here reminds me of Jouelzy's video. It's really long 4c hair then we should see it in the 4c form. Or at the very least see a picture of it in the shrinkage form to see what it looks like kinked up.
Why? It's her hair and she should wear it however she wants.
Denise W : Not saying she shouldn't wear it how she wants. but if her TITLE is "Natural 4c hair grew 20 inches" then I expected to see the 4C in it NATURAL shrinkage state at SOME point in the video. Someone coming to this video will look at that and think ok that's 4c straightened what does it look like naturally WITHOUT straightening. As if hot ironed is what our default 4c hair should be

And I guess you're right I was a bit on the defensive and I'm sorry about that, but for a vid like this I was expecting to see a side by side comparison type of thing or something, without YOU telling me she did a video of shinkage I (and many others) would never even known because we're not planning on trecking through ALL her past vids to determine with one was her shrinkage vid. Or even it was the same time frame it was ironed out.

Um...for all of you talking about what she "needs" to be praying about need to stop. It's not your say on what should be going on in her PERSONAL prayers to God. God wants to provide our needs as well as our REASONABLE wants both spiritually and physically. Let this beautiful woman express her wants and what she's prayed for without being hurt and talked at by all of you so-called religious Christians. I'm a believer of God, not a religious leech. One of my church memebers prayed for long hair & not only did she get long hair but her kids and her grand kids. They all have beautiful hair. Good strategy turning to God for ur hair. I pray for a big poof. I always say the bigger, the better but when I think of poof, I'm thinking past my shoulders and extremely curly since I have 4c. Thank u for letting ur light shine.
