Invicta Grand Diver: Auto 300M Diver for $90

- With its Seiko NH35A auto movement, this variation of the Invicta Grand Diver is an impressive value. Invicta has since come out with new variations of this line (shown) but these preferred models were available still when the vid popped. Good hands, xlnt case finishing, 3D complications, quality bracelets, and some even have fully lumed faces. I'll rip through these details, having culled thru the ugly Invictas (quite a few) to bring you this gem diver!

Please don’t.
Buy a seiko instead. Way better quality.
I've had my Grand Diver for twelve years and it's still perfect. You're clearly a liar or a fool.
I have a pro diver copy of the Rolex Submariner. I can’t justify the $10000 plus Rolex price. I am happy with it. I bought a Luminox watch. I won’t buy one again. I sent it in to Luminox for a battery and new tritium. I was told they can’t replace the tritium and it can’t be used as a dive watch anymore. So I spent more in shipping the watch to them than it would cost to go to a local jeweler to replace the battery. So never again a Luminox. If the factory can’t fix a $500 watch I’m done with them.
That's your problem, you buying $500 watches.
@@smallthings6590 You can’t afford a $500 watch that’s your problem.
@@DamionJR4923
My last 3 watches was a Omega Sea Master, a Tudor Black Bay Bronze, and a Brietling Super Ocean Steelfish.... I don't buy $500 watches anymore.
I have this in the blue bezel blue face variant. Edit: Model 3045
I always get compliments.
I don't care for the diver helmet and the etching on the side but they are not gawdy.
The NH35 movement is shared with some of the mid model Seiko watches that run 3-5 times as much as this watch.
The Pro Diver is a great
($39-$55 on sale) gift for a college friend without a watch.
Perfect starter to get a friend into watches. 👍🏽
not bad. The rap invicta gets is all earned. They are the kel-tec of watchmakers. I'm convinced the design team is stoned all day long
Why are you so negative Jason?
@@davidcrandall4958 i do apologize if that came off as negative. That was not the intent. I like both kel-tec and invicta for the very reason that the have some very outlandish designs at times
They're FUGLY
I bought a used Invicta Abyss automatic diver with a Citizen movement 11 years ago on Ebay and it has been one of the best automatics in my collection.
Because movement is from citizen, Japanese movement. That's why is one of the best automatics in your collection, and not because it is a invicta's clock.
Myota is a movement company under the citizen umbrella! I prefer the new Seiko NH 35/36 A!
People don’t realize Invicta has been around since the 1800s My grandfather who inherited a pocket watch from his grandfather it was an Invicta
That was a different company!
Casio Duro. 50 bucks. Can't be beat. Nutn' fancy. Just works. Cheap. Danny Hayes PADI DiveMaster.
I just bought the Invicta pro diver 8928OB for *$45* on Amazon. It is Automatic, 200M, Seiko NH35A movement, etc. I am new to watches so I'm happy with this. ☺️ Go get one while this price lasts! Won't be long! Hurry!
The duro build quality has gone down quite alot
I have a Grand Diver that's 12 years old and I've never regretted it. I don't want a quartz watch that isn't a Bulova Precisionist.
Invicta is trash. Full stop.
Get outa here with that noise😂 I've had my pro diver for like 5 years, play paintball in it. Literally zero problems with it ever and that mf let's me wear an automatic watch when I ball with zero hesitations
Invicta makes some real garbage. The reviews on the tubes suggest this is one of their rare wins.
On my Invicta The basil is so tight I can barely move it people say if I work with it enough it’ll get looser
Take it to a jewelry shop. They can pop off the bezel and adjust the spring for you. Makes a big difference. No one deserves a stuck or hard to turn bezel.
I just can't imagine buying an Invicta when you could buy a Seiko, glycine, orient, marathon, casio etc. Hamilton/Tissot if you can spend a little more.
Agreed 100%. I'd take a Seiko Samurai all day every day over this Invicta diver.
The Invicta has a Seiko movement. I have a mid '90s Seiko, and it's still a great watch. The Invicta should be fairly good quality as well, and is perfectly acceptable as long as the wearer isn't trying to fool themselves that they have a Submariner equivalent.
I just bought the Invicta pro diver 8928OB for *$45* on Amazon. It is Automatic, 200M, Seiko NH35A movement, etc. I am new to watches so I'm happy with this. ☺️
Guess what, you just made a fool of yourself because Invicta OWNS Glycine.
Nutnfancy has my respect for getting the bracelet off his grand diver! When I first swapped the bracelet for a NATO strap on mine it was a pain. The spring bars were rusted so I had to break the spring bars and put in new ones.
Yep, I have a watch box with just Grand Divers. Amazing watches. The fact that they're so inexpensive is astounding to me. I'm buying Grand Divers for less than $100 on Amazon. Some are in the $70-90 range! 😮
Sorry…not sorry. I was one of a dozen technicians at one of the largest watch repair facilities in the Midwest (it’s not a huge industry, so despite the number of employees, we worked on a very large number of watches). Invicta makes trash pure and simple. The designs may look cool, but the materials, and movements are extremely sub par Chinese garbage. They use dime sized movements in these massive things. The gaskets and tolerances make for very poor real world water resistance. You’re pretty much paying for a designer paperweight. The automatic movements are even worse than the battery powered ones, and some even look like an automatic but have a very small battery movement under the weight wheel. It’s sad that so many people buy into this garbage, because repair techs absolutely hate them, and they frequently break. This is one industry where outside of a very select few brands, you get what you pay for, and these watches at this price point is stupid cheap. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy one.
-three years of working on beautiful watches, and having to deal with these trash boxes leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. Nutnfancy is reputable, and I trust his advice, but these are trash no matter who drinks their koolaid.
Don't Invicta watches use Japanese Seiko NH35/36 type movements? But yeah, everything else about them is trash.
Agreed. Invicta is a waste of money. Clunker/beater watches. They leak during diving regularly also.
@@xenonram The Invicta 8928OB I just bought has NH35A Seiko movement. It cost me $45 on Amazon. 😁
So my twelve year-old Grand Diver that still works perfectly is an anomaly then?
@@AvroBellow it’s not an anomaly for any quality of watch to work for years if properly maintained. I’m willing to bet I could maintain any Walmart watch for the foreseeable future if I was so inclined.
Yes!! Finally nutnfancy is reviewing the watch ⌚ I wear!!
Just got two of them at $175 a piece. NICE!! Now I’m definitely new to this game but they were marked at almost 8 HUNNY!? WHAAAAT!? From $800 down to $175!?!? Bro, I felt GREAT about it until I just noticed you had a price at under $100! Dang! Not too busted up about it because one is black face and the other NICE dark blue face. Both with really nice silver bracelets with hints of gold! Nice review brother!
Yeah their "MSRP" is BS. Just look at the actual price.
Cool mods...for the price, these are damn nice watches. I'm a watchmaker and have taken these completely down to their parts. I really don't know how they can build such an excellent watch so cheap. I popped mine onto my timegrapher right out of the box and it was +2 secs/day. That's excellent. The movement is a Seiko so the timekeeping will always be spot on. My only gripe with this model is the excessive use of the dive helmet logo...not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 times. The Invicta on the side is cool but they Grand Diver on the wind side is too much. I'd also like to see the Invicta logo on the dial a tad bit smaller. The Pro diver is an homage to the Rolex Submariner and a very good one at that. For most of us, it's as close as we'll ever get to a real one.
Have you had hands on with one of their quartz models? Im curious to know how good that PC32 module is...
I have one from about 10 years ago and it still works fine. The Invicta divers are their best sellers because of their reliability.
Good to read that, as I'm a watch newb and just bought the Invicta pro diver 8928OB for $45 on Amazon! Go get one and gift it! 😄 They're on sale!
@@NorthanteusMy Grand Diver was bought in 2012 and I've never regretted it. It's still perfect.
At the end of the day you buy what you want and what YOU like, not what someone else tells you to buy. I've had an Invicta Pro Diver 40mm in gold for several years and it's never let me down, it's on a grey nato strap with gold hardware and looks fantastic. It sits alongside my 17 yr old Omega, Seiko "Arnie", Orient Kano, Seiko Kinetic, Ingersoll Tank, my G Shock tough solar which in reality is the only watch you will probably ever need, my 26 year old Citizen and my dad's old Avia from 1961. I wear them all, they are all different, cost vastly different sums but were all chosen by me, except the Avia. I used to care what others thought but that was when I was young and dumb and I don't like watch snobs who think the only watch to own is a Rolex. Anyway rant over, thank you for reading. Ps, I've just ordered a Invicta Grand Diver, I have a 7 inch wrist, it's probably going to be way to big for it but I don't care.
Style is subjective… but quite literally every Invicta (5-6) I’ve tried have all had quality and durability issues. Crowns coming right out, bezels coming off, spring bars breaking. From this channel, I honestly expected more along the lines of GShock, Luminox, Victorinox, etc… pieces that can be relied upon when SHTF. Invicta simply isn’t that.
I had an invicta that the crown popped off. one an hour marker fell off and rattled around in the dial. and finally my green grand diver the invicta that never gave me any trouble my watch 😃
Yet others claim theirs is fine after years of wearing them. Just in the comments here, one person has had their Invicta for 11 years with no problems. Another said theirs is fine after 10 years and said Invicta Divers are popular because they're known for reliability. Maybe you got yours from a bad batch? Factory? Were they divers?
I just bought a 8928OB for $45. Will be here in 2 days. Just the NH35 Seiko movement inside is probably worth that price. 🤣
Lol. I've just replaced a Casio gshock with several invitcas, for the same price . Broken strap in less than a year of replacing it. Lost luminosity. Broken seal. $650 watch.😡
I also have a seiko. These invictas use a seiko movement.try getting a seiko dive watch under $650 new in Australia or nz. You can't. Invictas are a killer deal.
Why do you lie?
@@bartobruintjes7056 if that comment is directed at me, I’m not sure why. I’m just sharing my experience.
I wish that Invicta Watches held up. The lume markers fall off. The bracelets fall apart. Bezels fell out. The Movements are good and they are waterproof but the rest of the watches fall apart after a year. I have had 4 different Invicta Autos and all have failed from daily wearing non abusive use. I will never buy another Invicta again. For the money a citizen, luminox, even Timex is WAY better
Paid $49 at Costco for my Diver. Over 12 years ago. Just replace batteries, nothing else.
@@rtaylor61 neat. Your sample size of ONE is inconsequential. It is what's called an outlier in statistics. It doesn't follow the trend of the majority of invicta watches.
@@littlejackalo5326 It would be a sample size of 7. My 5 kids, my dad and my wife all have Invicta watches. No issues. Sorry you had a bad experience.
@@littlejackalo5326Well, he made you look REALLY stupid, didn't he? LOL
I have a few Invicta watches, everyday wear, no issues with any of them.
Invicta has really good finish, build, and quality movement. They do make a lot tacky ghetto styles that only rappers would wear, but if you look more you will see they also make many classic styles, and you just can’t beat the value.
Some are so gaudy that all I can do is laugh.
@@motownbaby6146Agreed but the Grand Diver is the best watch they make and out-classes many of its competitors. Mine has been perfect for twelve years.
Only Invicta I have is the lupah in blue and I like it because it's got a art deco look to it.
I was struck with them a few years back. I have a Lord Elgin that my grandfather left me and those remind me of it. Beautiful dress watch, but small for a woman by today's standards. How has yours held up? I'm very curious to know if it's worth it.
Very cool yellow watch and the hands are great as of now that watch is not available so good of you to have one
Love the pro diver line they even have some pro divers with swiss movements.
😊
Love my Invictas
I just bought an Invicta Pro Diver 8928OB for *$45* on Amazon. Get it while you can! It is automatic! Hurry! Hurry! It has Seiko NH35A movement, 41 hr. power reserve, mineral glass, 40mm bezel, 24 jewels, 200M WR, screw down crown. GET IT! Do a review on it, nutn! ☺️
Invicta watches are the Hi-Point Pistols of the watch world.
I have a 14465 Reserve Venom master Cal in 18k yellow gold. Its worked flawlessly for years and I get compliments every day, on how awesome it looks. Very happy with every Invicta I've purchased. Some people have had QC issues tho and Invicta needs to treat those customers better.
Someone please give nutnfancy a omega planet ocean to review.
Well, I thought I had burned myself out on CVNFC (compulsively viewing NutnFancy content) after countless hours of consumption (mostly gun stuffs). Now I find myself building a new collection and turning to that same wise ‘ol owl. Thanks Colonel!
Great punch to the watch snobbery.
I agree with you on your assessment of invicta. There are a lot of their watches that are just downright awful I wouldn’t want to wear but the grand divers in the pro divers. As long as you don’t pay as much as what’s on the tag they actually are a great value for what you end up paying. I know they had a rocky beginning they had Hit and miss quality control issues but in the last for five years I’ve bought a few and I have not had any problems whatsoever some of my favorite watches I know there’s gonna be a lot of hate spewed my way I don’t care I’m on my watch is to please me not the peanut gallery
Gaudy
Found a Yellow face Grand Diver (Mint condition) in a pawn shop for $50.00 while buying a Black SubAqua (mint) for $35.00 (love this watch). I'm going to buy the Orange face Grand diver or Pro diver. I also have a Russian Diver that need a band (replacing with 26mm non Invicta band).
Orange? How is that orange?
Man honestly I don’t care about collecting watches this will be the only watch I’ll have for a while and the only watch I’ll wear except for an Apple Watch every now and then. So definitely not a watch snob. Steel snob with knives probably
I got one of these for camping in the Highlands.
My eyesight aint great so I wanted a big, easy to read dial.
It had to be VERY waterproof because it will be getting soaked through regularly
I wanted lots of big phosphorescent elements, because in the night I close my eyes, charge my watch dial with a flashlight for about 30 seconds, and then use the dial to light my tent without burning out my night vision.
Great watches and insanely good for the price.
lume on Invicta's isn't so great, Helm, Steeldive, do much better lume, but the don't have so many styles as Invicta.
Awful brand. I do know what I am talking about.
I have 6 Grand Divers....one is a Quartz Pro Diver Scuba...but it's a 48 mm watch. I love mine...they all have the coin edge, which I prefer! I have a very large wrist, 23 cm...9".... so large watches look normal on my wrist.
You have a new subscriber.
How about the Orient Star watch? I paid $850 and like it.
If you are paying over 150 for a wrist watch you’re just desperate to throw money away.
Jumped on the hate band wagon but learned my lesson really like invicta these days super good pce infact just bought one my first.
Cue the haters lol
Okay so Invicta isn't everyone's watch of choice but so many bad reviews I just had to buy one not a diver but the 12846 for twenty6.7nine and happy with it. It's solid and a little hefty the dial isn't visible at night but for the price it's great.
I respect your opinion as i am a gun and watch guy and you have helped me with reviews for years.....Th etruth of the matter is you are 100 percen correct...I own 2 grand divers ...Th eyellow one you show here and the standard black one...Pro diver are also amazing watches....keep the reviews coming.
I've had my Invicta Grand Diver with the Black dial for over 8 yrs and I agree 100% with ya! Keep up the great work sir, love the content!
Junk

I just ordered this same grand diver. Excited it’s shipping now 😊
I bought this watch on amazon primed day for 48 dollars....wow what a beauty!
I agree Invicta makes some ugly gaudy watches, but I have had their Snoopy watch for about seven years. It is built like a Invicta pro diver. It is a great watch and I still enjoy wearing it.
That face is wayy too big for my wrists. However, got 2 Invictas like a month ago.
I am so happy!!!! I got my #3049 today. I paid less than $50 from Amazon. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 love the watch. If I get bored with it, it can substitute as a door stopper.😂😂😂
LESS THAN $50 for a #3049? Oh dude, you scored BIG! The #3049 is EASILY the most beautiful of the Grand Divers. I've had a #3049 for twelve years and I paid $125CAD back then for it. Twelve years later, it stil gives great time despite never having been serviced, no scratches on the case or crystal and the gold accents still look like the day the watch arrived. You're going to LOVE this watch, I guarantee it!
The strap changed one looks so good, it's the best Invicta I've ever seen. Gj nutn
Take a closer look at the Grand Diver, 300 mm/ 1000ft, not 200 mm.😃
I love my Grand Divers, but the diver helmet has got to go. Too corny for my taste.
Grand Divers are 300 meters, not 200 meters! They DO come in Automatic!
I still have my original diver from 20 years ago and it still keeps ticking.
I like them, used to watch that shopping channel where they would go to Miami to Invicta’s headquarters and stay a week, they say if you buy one you will buy more, guilty as charged, never had any trouble out of mine, last one I bought the Black Panther one, Android another good watch and you are correct about Deep Blue also, well done Nutn, glad to see you getting around to Invicta 👍
Solid review - after seeing this i picked one up with some xmas money and prompty wore it all vacation in Maui, Hawaii. In the ocean, out of the ocean, snorkeling, etc. Love it! Bought the 8926OB as well. reallllllly like the automatic movements. thanks nutnfancy!
Arrived at your conclusion a few months ago now. Have received nothing but compliments. Watch has not let me down so far.
looks like $120 on Amazon for the 3048 - agreed, a diver must be automatic! 😎
why subscribe or thumbs up you never get a reply from any of these guys. . .
I have 4 Grand Diver Automatics. I LOVE them. I get compliments all the time on them. Very high quality as well.
I get compliments as well. I wear mine sparingly and every time I put it on I get giddy because I know I'll get at least one compliment.
Be careful with Invicta because of their subpar customer service.
I ordered a Grand Diver with a yellow dial, after making sure of the automatic Seiko movement and the famous Submariner design. One of the RUclipsrs has even performed the diving test at 60 meters, and the watch was approved. For that price, it really is a winner! 🌟
the bezel is difficult to grip, so turning it is a challenge, but it's eye candy.
@@pnwrider8346 Even though I am a diver, I have no interest in using this watch when diving. It's just for fun!
I have a number of these diver watches nothing wrong with them
So I’ve been watching you for years and years. Like probably 2014. I even watch several time piece reviews and have a legit question. I see the watches you review and I know you are about getting your monies worth. Why don’t you dabble in the vintage omega market? Or tissot or the like? Omega has been making military grade field watches sense 1917. You can find these and even like a 50-60’s sea master for under 2k. I know that’s a lot for a watch but you have literally one of the best made watches ever made. Sea masters are diver watches and have one of the most accurate movements money can buy. Just wondering?
Been looking at the 3048 yellow dial for a while now. Ordered one today. $114 including tax, delivered to my door. One of the things that impressed me is that there is not a Mercedes hand. I do not like them. Just something that rubs me the wrong way. I already own an Invicta 1953 Automatic. 👍 for your comments on the 3048.
Invicta has some good watches and they have some terrible watches too
I got my dark blue (midnight blue) Grand Diver last week. LOVE this watch! For me, it’s not my entry level dive watch. It’s my only dive watch.
Hi guys . I just found out the Remington 700 s can misfire just touching the bolt when loaded or moving the safety . The trigger connector is short and crisp and if it becomes misaligned from rust or debris or whatever and literally can go off .
There’s been thousands of reports and lawsuits with Remington settling . Early as 1979 , 20 something thousand guns . Invented by mike Walker who found the problem within the first 200 guns . Maybe this will reach someone . I can’t believe I never heard about it . Remington knew about it and the change would have constant 5 1/2 cents a gun to fix . One lady shot her son and killed him . Another guy blew his foot off . I was wondering what the heck people had a loaded weapon in a house handing it around or even pointing a gun loaded or unloaded at anyone . Have you heard about this ?
I know I like Remington 700 s for accuracy and the trigger and there’s a lot of big fans . A lot of law enforcement got rid of them . I saw the vid on cnbc .
Would you be willing to do a review on the Daniel defense DD5 2nd gen they fixed all of your main complaints would be interesting to see what you think now. Or maybe the Pof DI 308?
This is not the old Invicta company. This company was formed in 1991!
The original company was purchased in 1991 by an American company. It's still Invicta, albeit under new management. But your sentiment that it's not the "old" Invicta company is well taken.
Invicta makes some good diver automatic watches. I have a few, But ever since I bought a Apple Watch that’s all I wear anymore
Wear the Invicta on the other wrist. I wear two watches, just like nutnfancy! It's fun!
Where can I get a ceramic bezel for my Grand Diver
I'll have to give them a try.....coming from Vostok collecting, I am sure Invicta can't be all that bad 😂😂😂
they certainly look like they have a far better fit and finish, and at the same price point, as the primitive Vostok brand (that is why I love the Vostoks)....I am going to have to get me one.....I am sure their Swiss made are substantially more than their US made line....
Waiting for you go go down the Vostok hole. Cheers
Invicta 1953 model is a fantastic watch for the money best finished watch on the market .
Just a lot of value in the watch and the finishing for invicta is fantastic a friend had one and I held it for a while looking at it definitely will be ordering one for myself .
Grand diver is to large but the pro diver with the sieko movement is a great watch .
Grand Divers now come in 38 millimeter versions!
So the difference between 200 meters and 300 meters matters to be a dive watch? Lol Not allot of divers going deeper than 600 ft.
Love all my Invicta watches,, I have 5 of them. Glad to hear some common sense review! Thumbs up ~John
Where can I get a ceramic dial to put on my Grand Diver⌚
I mean bezel a ceramic bezel.
It is 300 meters water resistant,not 200!
Got a Grand Diver OTW.
Also scored a 10640 white dial NIB.
Hey Nutn, I’ve been wanting to ask for a long time but do you have a certain tape that has worked well for you for programming the hands on your watches?
It’s 300mm water resistant not 200.
I have about 35 invicta watches.
I have had a few Invictas, I really liked the style of the ones I have owned, but they all wound up having issues like hands or markers coming loose.
Aww snap. First
How the hell did you get the seconds hand to stop on 12 on the Deep Blue? Epic man.....epic
Get the votok scuba man lol
got one 101 bucks thanks
Grand Divers also come in 38 millimeters!
No, Pro Divers do.
Excellent lume? Wow!
Coin and scallop bezel
Love the red seconds hand! Really makes it pop!
Invicta watches are often HUGE, tacky, overly branded.......all that, and I love them.
Have a Grand Diver & a Pro Diver, that I have had since 2011. They often sit (unworn & unwound) for months........sometimes, years. Yet, they have always started right up, as soon as I put them on.
For around $100? Are you kidding? You can't go wrong. If they stopped working tomorrow, they owe me NOTHING.
I am also a Luminox fan but for the features I want the prices are high so now Im a Deep Blue watch fan just had to get used to the automatic movement from battery operated watches.
HUGE elffing watch!
Cmon, if you want tough value orientated diver, guy Seiko SKX instead. Go dive your invicta and talk about it later.
I like the SKX but I LOVE my Grand Diver. I don't want an automatic watch that I can't hack or (especially) hand-wind. It's called a "Seiko Slap" for a reason and that reason is the SKX.
