Yeah, I agree. Turning it into a live action required it to take a more serious tone regardless. Which, live action dragons and Vikings have their place. But the animation allowed it to be lighter, but with so much heart. And it's that heart that makes HTTYD such a masterpiece.
And what's crazy is the films actually have some incredibly serious and dark subject matters...but it wouldn't work the way they made it work if it was Live Action.
It’s a shame that we have gotten to a point where it’s like the end game of anything animated to be turned into live action. Like it’s not proper or good just because it’s animated. That’s how I see the me Avatar show and now this. Animation is great it doesn’t have to be turned into live action.
I COMPLETELY agrree. My friends know me as like the biggest HTTYD nerd. So I was offended when I saw that is was getting a live action, when it comes out I'll be watching it with very, very low expectations

Its weird we're getting this in live action. When i think of it live action , i think of Game of Thrones. Honestly if this movie becomes a success, i would be shocked. Excited is not the word i would use. Im worried and nervous
How is it any different from any other remake that has been done? I agree that a movie like HTTYD wasn't made to be live action, but I don't see how the great animation from the movies makes it worse than any other remakes. And if they did rehire people from back then to CGI the Dragons there's big chance that they will do everything they can so the creature doesn't clash with the actors too much visually. I'm really not thrilled to see a live action of this, but for the same and simple reason that I wouldn't want a live action DragonBall movie 😂 live action just will never have the same liberty that animations does have for fantasy. Also the cast... I didn't give a damn that the little mermaid was a black actress in the live action, but I really don't like that Astrid has been changed SOOO much when she was like THE Girl Viking. Absolutely no hate for the actress, I have no idea who she is and she might very well rock that role in the movie, we don't know yet. But after having watched the full trilogy a hundred times I'm a bit sad that Astrid won't look like Astrid.
It’s not different. That’s part of the point. All of these remakes are terrible. Jungle book was okay ish, other than that? Every single one has been total trash.🫣

Didn't see the Jungle Book live action, but I'm not tempted to look at it either 😂😛 the ONLY Live Action that I've LOVED so far is Netflix adaptation of One Piece. It does an INCREDIBLE job at keeping the essance of the anime, but that's not a movie 😛 It's crazy how scared the studio are of making new original content, I sincerely don't understand why they'd prefer to take a HUGE gamble by making a live action like this over taking a smaller gamble on a new idea.
I dunno, if they change even one little thing about Toothless I think the fans will riot. If they change anything else fans may not riot, but they won't be happy. I'd rather they put the effort into a 4th animated movie. I think there's still a movie's worth of story left to tell.
@@TheGeekApprentice I can't argue with that. The only way a 4th movie could work is if Dean DeBlois is involved. And I don't think he has any interest in it. Maybe they'll pull the Wizards of Once project off the back burner and do something there.
I’m not suuuuper attached to the HTTYD so I don’t have a strong opinion on this, but I’m kinda intrigued by it. I also realize that I haven’t seen the 3rd one so maybe I’ll do that soon 👀

Ya, I just don’t care for Disney much anymore, so I don’t bother with it.

Personally I don't like either option. The third film was the perfect ending - anything extra is a cash grab and not honoring to the story we got
