Been waiting a long time for this video, rocking my db55 for 2 years now
Dam. I've been waiting on a test on one of these for a while now. Thank you
Been using it for 2 years never had an issue with it and still hits hard
@@chrismuncey6023 am using it with Rockford P2D2
Good too Hear, Bought this for Wifes Tahoe.
Had it for several months with no issues.
Hard pressed to beat watts for the money (not a show vehicle) Works Great.
You think a p3d4-10 500rms would be ok
@@LuisRivera-qf5qj it produces around 700rms on the subwoofer channel so it should be ok with the P3
@@jmureithi 700rms while using the other 4 channels for voice speakers? Or 700rms with only sub channel and no other channels used?
I am from Belgium and i bought a couple of Rockville amps because of your video's and because of the price range, even with payed taxes and imports it is a budget gem for me and i also saw the K9 video, so ok bad subwoofer, amazing amps that is all i needed to know.
You end up getting new subs g? I just seen this comment and hoped for closure of these amps powering some beasts in your car.
Back to back videos. Glad to see you back
Awesome results! Great to see new videos too. Thank you.
This is a great deal and a great sounding 5 channel. I do have to say one thing though.....the marine line up looks so much nicer than the car audio line!
I do appreciate how Rockville has take their medicine when issues has came up and just hung around and fixed the problems!
****Rockville for the everyday car audio nerd and for President 2020!****
Rockville is really taking over the budget amp world. People can say what they want but these amps are impressive to say the least. I took a chance on Rockville 2 years ago by buying one of their amps for my Harley and was impressed. Then got another one for my truck. I have been impressed since. Then I saw dyno's on Rockville amps and thats when I knew I had made the right choice. I have no doubt these amps will last. I had my reservations at first but I could not be happier. Best bang for buck amps ever made. I'm 63 years old and have been a car audio fan since I was 15.That's 48 years. Damn that is a long ass time. Now I'm getting depressed. I gotta go ride my Harley and listen to some rock n roll. One thing I have learned over my years of car audio interest. No matter what I always install small cheap fans to keep ANY amp I install as cool as possible before ever turning them on for the first time. Heat is a killer to ANYTHING and I live by that idea. I have not had an issue with heat in many many years. Better safe than sorry. Damn my Harley is getting hot. lol I'm outta here. Keep cool
What happened to the ab 1600 ??
I have had it for at least 2yrs Rockville great budget banger
I just subscribed. I really enjoyed this video and I really like how you speak your mind and say it how it is. There is to much bashing in the car audio community, if Rockville wants to produce a good product for a good price that is good for everybody, even if they fail once or twice on the way its worth it in the end.
So siked on this!! I've had this amp for 3 years and no issues. Pretty sure it's under tuned as well.
Seeing this video makes me feel better about this purchase
Lucas is legit!
Thanks man! 😂😂
THANKS BIG D!
🤣
Lmao
Giveaways?? Love the knowledge! Keep it coming. Thank you!
My uncle has used this amp in 3 different vehicles it continues to slam definitely a good buy for the money
Another great aunt dyno thanks for the knowledge keep up the good work
I have 3 k9s. 12" 10" and 6.5". They are awesome subs. No issues. Thinking about using this amp in mommas car. Thanks for all you do!
Been using this amp since January. Have not had any issues with it at all. I do have to crank up the gain and bass boost to really make my sundown audio E-12v.4 hit hard. That bass knob light is VERY bright! Had to put a piece of electrical tape over it it was so blinding.
Thanks for fixing the audio/music at the end
Best amp youtube channel, thank you!
I have used this amp in my commuter car for a few months now and it does okay. I have channels 1-4 bridged to my front speakers, and the 5th channel ran at 1 ohm and it hasn't turned off yet surprisingly 😂😂 not bad for the money. I got mine for $100 of a friend.
Ryan coming in hot on this one!
I've used some Rockville equipment. I was very surprised at the performance because of the price. I bought 2 6.5" pro speakers that were ... $35 dollars, and they outperformed a lot of name-brand speakers and had a great sound. I think it was like a 90s sound, but sounded great. Of course, I had to EQ them down at certain Hz, but isn't that every speaker?
--The amps perform very wel for the price. Only questions is quality of sound and durability.
You hit that spot on, I've installed a complete Rockville setup in a 06 xB with 2 K9 12s on a m2 and its still playing the owner had mentioned going to a larger sub amp as those subs seem to take everything that amp gives and never smells a bit, personally I have had a few pair of the RXM64's and they play loud and clear. I know them trying to take on Sundown was a very poor choice making them look very foolish.
I had a phenom 5 channel powering two sets of Fosgate T series coaxials and a Dayton H.O. 10 and I loved it.
Plenty of headroom and respectably clean sound.
I have a phenom on a Dayton ultimax 12 dvc. And a VEGA on two Dayton HO 10s.
Hits 🔊
I bought a DB55 to run my two K9 6.5" V2s that are under my seat. I have not been disappointed.
Rockville rules !!! I had too lol but pretty dam impressive amplifier
Over 2 years working in Texas heat behind rear seat of f150. Running strong with Kenwood DDX396 Excelon.
I have k9 12 s that after 2 years 2000 watts on 2 12s still rocks so all the haters suck!
Me Too !! 2- K9D4 12's on a audiopipe APMI 2K @ 45% gain with no issues. They do however start to get that smell when they get hot LoL ! But still slappin after 2 years !!!
Only con is the heat. A fan kill that tho
Thank you very much and when you mentioned big D now I believe you. An I'm now apart of your RUclips fan base.
Seriously a gem! My only issue with Rockville is when they tried to lie live. Would I buy Rockville sure I would. That amp will be in my boat next year. Been waiting to see a dyno first.
These amps are great they do the power the only con is that there is not much sound filtering if you have a ground loop noice it will stay there.
installed one of these a year ago.. its still doing great in a f250 4 door with some aftermarket speakers and 2 10s in a prefab... totally a gem... and your video is still going over CEA numbers.
EDIT: the blue rockville LED is violently bright though.
Cea numbers? Which one?😁
Whatever is the lowest... . Heck some of their amps even come with real power "birth sheets"
@@dustinerickson1253 yeah mine came with that sheet
Gr8 video and agree with you on this amp thanks for the great video
Going on my 3rd year with this amp. Could not be happier. Kenwood Excelon DDX396, 4 Polk DB72's 1 Dayton Audio DCS 255 10" Inch sealed enclosure. In a Ford F150
Bet it sounds amazing!...
Had this amp for 3years burnt mtx subs got some pioneers and the amp is pumping some serious power
WHat is the wattage for your speakers? I'm nervous I'm going to get speakers and this amp will be too powerful? I'm a newbie so not sure what I'm doing lol
@@MrGwizyadig i have discontinued pioneer 12" twin subs now at 1200w and im running some cheapo pioneer DRVN 6.9" off the amp aswell so nice consistent bass with the top off of clear as day vocals i dont pump the gain up too much as it will deffinately cook them
All bias aside, the most bang for your buck I’ve spent on car audio this year was 150$ for a combo bundle- that included a k6 12” sub and a db13 amplifier. Yielded me a 140+ db in the 150$ spl challenge from this year. Just saying....
140+ sounds far fetched
Well i dont know if it can beat 2 kicker l7 15s and a cheapo 2500w orion copy
@@mechanicalking he might have 140db rating... but it could be garbage; why?? b/c some guys go for a fart-box enclosure, tuned high to 45-50hz (some go even higher than that), and they end up getting high spl numbers BUT the enclosure sounds like
🤮💩🤮
A guy that hits 140db with an enclosure tuned to 26-28hz... that will get my attention 👍😎👍
@@niclev4093 it depends bro [gotta factor in system design, loading, and cabin gain]
🤷♂️
jr1001jr check out my 150$spl challenge video. Two 12” lanzar subs on a punch 4004 box tuned to 28. Doing plus 140’s. And the Rockville k6 db13 combo is on video too doing the same thing, it’s in the Facebook group 150$ spl challenge. That box was tuned a little higher though, but it’s all about “system” design, box, equipment, tuning, vehicle, and a little secret squirrel shit... but ya I enjoy listening to music. Real music...
Like the camera angle with the dyno.
Are you sure the second "transformer" on the class D side isn't an output filter inductor?
Good video, I'm a little less weary of Rockville amps now. Still not a fan of their three different power ratings but at least one of them is accurate.
I'm new to using one amp for my entire system would I be able to run my components at 4ohm on the mids and highs channels and utilize the 500 rms @2ohm on my subwoofers?
Just picked one up after watching the video! Can you provide any tuning tips? The manual is pretty basic concerning tuning of the amp.
I got the Rockville dB16 8000 Watt Peak/2000w RMS Mono 2 Ohm Amp and it's a BEAST!!!
Awesome test gem for sure

👍🏾I had a Rockville 4 ch recently installed, the Rockville 1 ch is on the way, and next.👍🏾
When will you get the soundigital 2400x4 amp know it's a bit pricey but would really like to see it on the dyno
That actually looks like a nice build car audio amplifier. I know they also are in the live production audio as well.
Hello.. when you tested the Rockville. Does it get really hot so much untouchable.. I got the Rockville krypton f5… it get really hot.. I notice you mentioned all the numbers.. please include the durability when operating for a long period of time if it get really hot… thanks
Thank You for being unbiased about the product line unlike some of these “I paid for every amp or sub over a $1000 you get what you pay for” type of guys. I’ve been on both sides of tree in spending a lot on systems to experimenting with low budget systems and I’ve sold and installed a lot of Rockville products over the years and I get next to no complaints about it. Only complaint I ever had was one guy who was a idiot and would’ve destroyed anything that I put in his car because he thinks he can turn up radios and amps to the max volume and gain when he has a system in his vehicles
I'm with you on being on both sides but we're all here for getting the most for the best price....sometimes the not expensive amps are just as good....I had a used jensen amp in the late 90s and couldn't kill that amp even thou I didn't know how to tune an amp back then, that amp even went swimming with the power supply still hooked up....made me think differently when I was exchanging a jl audio in on a warranty.
Justin Hayes exactly Bro, I also bought and sold different stuff from the late 90’s that was cheap and preformed well and I was limited in knowledge back then being only in my late teens and now that grown more knowledge in car audio Ive seen even the big name brands sell more cheap amps than their top of the line stuff because most people just simply can’t afford or just not gonna pay for expensive car audio, they’re gonna make that dollar stretch as far as they can. People just need to get a better understanding of the product they buy and it’s limitations so they won’t waste money and time by destroying their equipment because of greedy brands lying on specs but that doesn’t mean the product is trash it means brands are liars, that’s why I love dyno videos because it doesn’t just expose gems or bust it helps you choose the right subs or speakers for a amps true power so you won’t have a horrible audio experience
Hi, great video man. Just wondering, how come they was no in rush current measurements in the video while testing the amp?
Have you ever tested the Pyle Pla4478 4 channel? Its rated at 4000w but im sure that's not true. Wondering if it will make a good mids amp.
I’ve been using my Rockville amp for almost 2 years now and never had any issues with it. Been running it at 1 ohm the whole time. It’s definitely not comparable to some of the top name brands out there but as far as bang for your buck I’ve been impressed with the quality
I'm assuming you run your sub channel at 1 ohm, is it still going strong? That's the only drawback of this amp is that the sub channel is only rated down to 2 ohms, if it works at 1 that's a huge plus.
@@nathanmyles3785 yessir it’s still running strong, I have it running a different setup now though. I have 2 old school Punch HX2’s on a 2 ohm load. It’s never over heated when I was running a 1 ohm load. For what I paid for the amp this thing rocks!
@@gary30427 Appreciate the answer, Happy New Year to you
@@nathanmyles3785 you too brother, stay safe!
I Had this amp and i was very happy with it. I only used the sub side and it was banning!
Their k9 subwoofer failure doesn't mean everything else of theirs is also going to fail. It's like how the Samsung phones were blowing up, not all their phones were messing up just that line of devices.
👨💻
I’ve got the Rockville db13 to push a single 750watt rms kicker L7s, do you know what that amp might dyno at? It seems to push it really hard and sounds really good and only went with them bc of the price and cea compliant sheet
Hey Ryan, I have a few amps that I've never seen on a dyno. Do you test viewers amps?
I do believe he will test your amp if you send it to him.
I’ve had the Rockville 3200w 5 channel for 3 years and it’s still kicking..
These "in-expensive" brands like Rockville, Dual, Boss, etc. are a hit or miss proposition. Some are more miss then hit (Blaupunkt?) but some actually sell a good product at a great price sometimes. This looks like one of those times. How long they last is a mystery. But you can say the same ting about most of the name brands as well. You pay your money and you take your chances. But videos like this are a huge help towards making a good decision.
I've really been considering a rockville amp for my next build. I just cant see myself slapping a Rockville sticker on my car and being proud of it like I am with my skar and american bass stuff I have now.
Both are good choices(edit) they're all 3 decent to solid choices
My rockville amp pushes my american bass xr's better than the skar so if you wanna pay the extra money for that sticker more power to ya
I have 2 15" American Bass subs they have a 1500wrms rating, I initially had a Pioneer GM9701 that I already had installed for my single 15, 1200w wasn't enough so I bought a AP APCLE1800 definitely an upgrade but still not enough by a long shot now I have $350 in amps that are not sufficient for full potential. What size do I need to push them hard after impeadence rise... Like a 4k...5k? And do you have any amp suggestions in thats a good amp and wattage range that's say under $1000? I can't afford a decent upgrade but some amp to shoot for, I was looking at the TORO R6 it's $400 and 3200wrms @ 1 and it actually has a .5 of 4k! But I'm at 1 and thinking 3kish is still not enough with impeadence rise and don't want to keep spending hundreds over n over going up 1000w at a time and having multiple amps I'm not using because selling them you take a bath.
Get em big D! I love my Rockville, they are great for us budget bass heads!
Thanks... But I am not big D
Bought an ignite thinking I was ok buying a sub $100 amp amd it sucks! Should I buy this Rockville and also should I get the 5 or 4 channel?
Well done, nice amp and their equipment isn't too bad, they just need to get rid of those three different ratings and keep it simple.. I've had Rockville in my cars, and done installs with them, decent for what you pay. Im sure the main issue people have with Rockville is that they don't keep it simple and they tend to over belish rating and lied live to people.. Over all this, now we the consumers know how Rock works, they do have decent amps.. I've had awful experience with the sub lines, but surround speakers and amps, I would buy. This amp is definitely a bargain, great video sir.
Have you ever tested any DS18 amps? I have a chance to but a DS18 SLC-X1550.1 and 12” sub for $125. it’s almost 1yr old are they decent? I’m not looking to get crazy just something to through in my wife’s Tahoe. Thanks in advance
I had 2x K6 subs and they were a great value, and handled more power than the 'CEA' rating. I also had the 5 channel amp from Rockville RXH-F5, and it did a great job too...albeit it running fairly warm. I had to leave my Rockville subs behind in a cross country move, and I went with Skar to replace them...and the Skar subs have not been as good as the Rockville even though they cost more money. I may get rid of the Skar and get a single Rockville Destroyer.
I have a Destroyer and Punisher here and they are both impressive for the money
So does the 1-2 -3-4 channels use the same high pass ? Or just high on 1 and 2 🤔
Dang it did it again! Thought this was going to be the compdb4!
I love my compdb5!
I was considering the comp 5. So you're really happy w it huh? I really dont like the angled inputs tho. Does it fit a 1/0 reducer? Cuz I like to use double 1/0 inputs for power/ground.
Me too my comp5 haven't let me down i still need a little more battery power but its definitely making me get better woofers!
@scott wright there are a few things that could be better. The wire goes in straight but the screw comes down at a angle. It works just not as well as it could. At the moment I have just a single run of 1/0 Sky High but I have no doubt dual inputs would fit. The amp is huge. Probably the biggest 3.5K being sold. Other than that yes it is a pretty good amp for the money.
@John Doe what subs are running? I have it on a pair of 12” SAv2s. I have a Brand X 300 amp alt, a D4800 up front, and a D3100 in back and I haven’t dropped lower than 14.0 from 14.6.

I bought 3 of these DB55. The amp sounds great and powered my entire system by itself with 2 Polk audio 6.5's 2 Polk audio 6X9's and 1 12 inch American Bass sub. The only problem I have with this amp is none of them lasted longer than 2 years. The 5 channel that powers the sub always stop working. The last one I bought channel 4 stopped working. Of course I checked the fuses and everything. The amp sounds great and have good power to push my system however in my case they don't last. Just my 2 cents.
Rockville got there stuff together I'd buy that for a dollar
I'd buy that for $80 tops
@@mechanicalking Id go 120 guessing it will lst two years.
Can you test some of the Cerwin Vega CVP amps. Preferably the ones without CEA ratings. I'm looking at the 1600.4d.
I was wondering I have some amps I can send to you to be tested any way to contact you? I have ts-power amplifiers Korean boards thanks great video
I had this amp. It sounds really good. Noise free. It drived my speakers great. It just so happened to burn up on a 7 hour trip to Atlanta after almost a year in service. I would highly recommend this amp if it wasn't for that. For what I paid for it though, I guess I got my money's worth out of it. Buy this with caution, and try to keep it cool wherever you install at in your vehicle.
How was u to keep it cool??
Mine stopped working with no visual interior signs or smell.
Did yours?
I’ve had the DB12 for 5 months and I’ve been using it every day and it doesn’t get really hot like Skar Audio Rp amplifiers
I have db13 and it has never gave me any issues and pushes my mofo type x 12s well
I had a pair of the older blue k6 15's and beat the crap out of them, probably had rated power or a little more to them and they just kept going. Every once in a while they would get hot and smell but let them cool and continued, and I was full tilt every time was driving so they had lots of play time. Only reason I sold them was they didn't fit in my new truck, kinda miss them.. haha
Literally bought the 45 (4 ch) of this last night on Amazon. Crossing my fingers it's OK. I was looking for a wider frequency response and this caught my eye. I'm all about the tweeters
any good?
Hey man,,. What does the "N" mean rite next to the THD rating on the sheet specs??.
Is it possible to bridge 2 subs on this since ch1 and ch2 are only Hpf?
It’s great to see you guys dyno amps and all , but the problem is the prices sky rocket on them immediately afterward .
Example: there’s no way in hell im paying 125 for that ignite amp that big d tested, 75 yes I would have paid that.
Damn so much for getting cheap Rockville amps!
So glad to see you putting out videos. Will this amp go into protect at 1 ohm Dynamic. I tend to run my smaller class Ds at one ohm even when they are only rated at 2 ohms. The mrv M500 loves it and puts out a pretty good punch. This amp would be even sweeter if it could do 800 watts at 1 ohm on the sub Channel
I've had the sub channel on the phenom series f5 channel running at one ohm for 6 years at about 1200 w. 120 watts at 2 ohms to each door.
Am getting a power supply for it do the power supply need to match the fuses?
Can you tell me a good budget 4 channel amp that is a gem and does rated power of 75 watts to 100 watts rms please help me love your videos just wished you did more 4 channel amps at the 4 channel ratings
Really good deal for the watts it puts out. Doubt I'd swap it for my zapco in one vehicle or the Audison thats in my other though
What is the power consumption on this amp ?
Hey can you dyno the Jensen XDA-92RB 1200 watt amp. I think it's a newer version of the XPR-84D I think. If you see this thank you. :)
Thanks, I'm getting this for a reg cab ford ranger and should be more than enuff for 4 Rockford 6x8 and a 10in sub with deh7700 pioneer super tuner 2 din and 1/2 din clarion EQ sure as hell going to beat the stock ford radio and paper speakers or should I say 💩
I would like you to dyno the new Oxygen 5000-1 full range wolfram. I ordered the o2400;and the o5000.
Think the 6 channel one holds up as well?
Can this amp run 2 15s that are 600w rms each?
Glad there doing rated power
I'm look on the rockville amplifier but one I see I would love to see u test it rockville rxm-s6 marine /boat 2600 watt 6 channel
Does the RMS rating at 4 ohm mean that it can deliver 160 watts to each of the 4 channels? Or is that 160 watts divided between the four channels? I'm assuming the former but want clarification. Thank you 😊
he bridged the channels on the 4 channel part, so this amp does around 4 x 80 wrms + 340 wrms sub channel at 4 ohms, and around 4 x 120 wrms + 630 wrms sub channel at 2 ohms per channel.
Can you run the front and rear 4 channels at 4 ohms and then the sub channel at 2 ohms all at the same time? Never had a 5 channel but it's intriguing
Yes you can
Thank u for honest coverage lol
I have this DB55 amp hooked to, 2 Kicker CS 6×9's front doors, Kicker CS 6.75's, rear deck, my head unit is pushing 4 Kicker CS 3.5's 2 in dash 2 in rear quarter panels, 😳 I have 2×12's Kicker Comp C's in the mail can't wait to Rock my Challenger RT this week.. I had a single Rockville 8" in the center rear deck on the 5th channel turned way low but its starting to rattle, I would highly recommend this amp to anyone that wants good clean sound that's not trying to blow out their windows !!!
Every manufacturer has problems that's what the warranty is for.
I?had an Alpine mrp m500 powering a Rockford p2d4 12 that just quit working after 5 months got a replacement and it still works years later.
Can you do a review on the new Dual XPR540 1200 Watt 4/3/2 Channel Class A/B plZ
I whould like too see the dyno test of the hifonics helios 4 channel amp

I wanted to know what you would reccomend for a good 1000 watts rms amp to power an American bass xr 10d2? I was looking at the Rockville db15 or the audiopipe 2000.
With that sub, I would do something in the 1200 to 1500w range tops at 1 ohms.. So i would probably go Audiopipe apcle 1500 or Pioneer 9701
@@bigblank69 I appreciate it! I also have to watch it with my stock 90a alternator. I'm hoping I can get at least 1000 rms.

One pair of JBL GT0609C are on the way. I'm thinking maybe a second set or 6 by 9 components for the Nissan Titan truck, replacing the factory system. Open for suggestions on a good sub and speaker combinations on a reasonable budget. Thanks
Did you get the amp? How do you like it?
How did the 609c JBLs work out? I noticed they are 3ohm and the 5 channel setup calls for 4 ohm speakers on the bottom two channels. (4 speakers)
