I bought this from RobotUnderground recently. This is really a great amp, it does get toasty hot though. Make sure it’s mounted where it gets air. I may get a fan on or near mine.

I have had the pleasure of doing business with Patrick, he sold me a couple of the Recoil Audio subs and reciently a recoil 1800.5 amp. The 1,800 is a beast! Clean and powerful! In my sprinter van I am running Focal 3 way separate's with a 10 inch recoil subwoofer and a JL audio 1000.1 with 2 TW3's. By adding the new amp I am really hearing quite a improvement in the volume being that the sprinter is a noisy vehicle I also put the midrange and tweeters on the dash with pods huge difference! The 1,800.5 really improved the sound stage and cleaned up the highs infact before I was running the highs on 5 and now on the 2 setting because the amp is so clean. I wasn't sure how the 5th channel would be infact when I first hooked everything up I kept adjusting the amp and really didn't hear a difference until I realized the small sub was hooked up to my other amp so I connected the speaker wire to the 1,800.5 and was blown away at the quality bass it puts out. This amp will make a lot of guys very happy! I am picky and I ask a lot of questions, Patrick was patient with me and was very informative I appreciate his knowledge and recommend him all the time.
Patrick and Larry are really putting out good shit that's not overpriced patrick Is a nice guy 👍 fallow robot underground and see the shit he builds yea he's straight up and doesn't hold back his words but he's just really being straight honest. Iv been waiting on this 5 channel

Since most people investing in a single 5 channel amp are likely not going to do major upgrades to their power supply it would be appropriate to test this at a voltage it is more likely going to see such as 13.5V and not 14
I run the Recoil class AB 4 Channel Amp in my boat on 4 Wetsounds 6.5 inches coaxial speakers and 1 subwoofer on a class D mono and the sound is awesome. Want to add 4 more speakers and an other sub, will definetly buy this amp!
It's very nice and yeah you can power a new 15" NVX V3 subwoofer. It's 1500rms watts but it should work nicely on that subwoofer chan. The other 4 chan will be good for the mids and highs.
So ive had my eye on this amp for a while and after this video i bought it. It's in a 2008 Mercedes SL 550 and if anyone is familiar, the cabin isnt very big being a 2door hard top convertible. The amp is legit. It has some beef to it . Well made with tons of adjustments. Very powerful and very clean. Anyone on the fence with this amp , i definitely recommend it !! I couldn't go wrong at $95! I have my heart set on a powered spare tire sub. I would have gone with this DI1800.5 if not for my design choice. Great review!!! I put 1000 watt recoil amp in my girlfriends Highlander and the her sisters Highlander both on a single sub and it sounds amazing. I would have to say this is the one of the best budget amps out dollar for dollar. this new app looks amazing. I may put this 5 channel in her Highlander in place of the JBL stocker amp ..
Awesome video man! I always look for great 5 channels like this one just in case my Phoenix Gold ti2 5-channel takes a crap. I'm impressed with this recoil having near identical specs at a much much lower price. This one undercuts the JP 95 also. I would only go with that one if you need more power on the substage and have better electrical
I have the 1200 on 2 infinity 12s. Beats like crazy but gd recoils pull some current. I was thinking 🤔 on this amp running everything in my new Maxima. I ordered 1 Vega 15 so far. Not sure if im doing one or 2 15s. Haven’t decided. But i think im doing this amp for sure.
a pair of Ampere Audio 6.5 dream components and a pair of wlldse hcy12s would sound great with this amp . only thing is it a/b d hybrid or just class d . i had a memphis belle 16-ST1300D and it incredible . this amp has 3x the power !
Man you really should in my opinion should just run dynamic dyno . I believe most of your followers are like me and listen to music so thats the only test we care about.
The sub channel is not effected by how you wire the 4 channel section. Its output is only effected by how you wire the sub/subs such as 4 ohm, 2 ohm,1ohm etc.. Thanks so much for watching!
What is a best 5 channel amplifier in quality and durability in your opinion, this one or the hifonics Zeus zd-1750.5d? I’m looking more for SQ, i going use with a 4x120rms speakers at 4ohms and one subwoofer of 400 whatts rms at 2ohms to start
They are both good budget 5 channels actually. Sound quality is good on both I haven't dyno tested the Hifonics but I'm sure the Recoil puts out a little more power on the sub channel. The Recoil does get a little warm where the Hifonics doesnt.
I guess these have been discontinued...? Not available anywhere but eBay. Recoil has a new 5 channel on their website that seems to not be available anywhere also
If the amplifier has separate power supply for the subwoofer channel than the 4 channel full range side, then only it can be tested with only sub output. If it shares power supply (toroidal) than all four channels should be tested along with the subwoofer channel to see if it actually makes rated power.
Can this amp run at different Ohm loads? Can I run channels 1-4 at 4 ohms and sub channel 5 at 1 ohm? That’s basically 140rms x 4 at 4 ohms and 1200 rms x 1 at 1 ohm

Yeah man I had the PPI 6 channel with the 6 independent crossovers built in. Ran 2 sets of MB Quart 3-ways and 3 JL 10s off that 1 amp and sounded amazing!

Wow what a beast. Like my truck runs 5x7 or 6x8 in all 4 doors, you could run a pretty serious setup with that power and a set of pretty stout 12s.

It's very nice and yeah you can power a new 15" NVX V3 subwoofer. It's 1500rms watts but it should work nicely on that subwoofer chan. The other 4 chan will be good for the mids and highs.

Yes the sun channel is independent so you can run sub at 1 ohm and 4 channels at 4 ohm.
