It's not the only phone from 2012, the Nokia Lumia 920 came out 11 days earlier and was the first photo to support Qi wireless charging. It's also the first phone with optical image stabilization (OIS)

I love this phone. One of my favorites back in the day. You can really do so much with it, remember when rooting and wifi sniffing was just surfacing?

Sinan Aydın pay attention where that led used to be located. And how is used to work. Pay attention on rounded shape of this phone, LG Nexus, Moto X - they are the same style Google invented back then.
It's still a good low budget phone with a xda oreo 8.1 rom it still flies. Also has wireless charging and 4g support.

This phone actually has the same size screen and almost the same resolution as an iPhone 8.

I just got this phone today and I have to say I'm really REALLY impressed by it. In fact, this is the first and only phone I've found to be a worthy successor to my HTC HD 2, and I ran almost all the major Android builds on that one ever since 2.1 with no problems whatsoever.
The build quality is great, the design is sleek and simplistic, the performance is top notch and it's got a great display, all in all - you can't beat this much bang for the buck.

Fire have you seen the CPU and the 1 gig of RAM. Even 2 years later, a snapdragon 400 has higher clock speeds than an A8. And maybe the battery life is bad due to the processing android requires unlike iOS. And not to mention both have an 8mp camera, even 2 years later THEY STILL don't make a higher res camera for the price. Over $700 vs 249
I've had my nexus 4 for like 3/4 years now and works as good as it did on the day I got it except that it heats up really really quickly (much quicker than it used to) from just talking over messenger and listening to music. It is almost perfect, it's my favourite phone I ever had and the only reason why I want to upgrade is because snapchat doesn't work well with it but then I don't know if that is the phone or the OS and the camera is a bit shit.
I've never had this phone but I remember it so well, it was like the pinnacle of greatness for Nexus devices in general both for package and price. I'm gonna miss Nexus devices, I still have 2013 version of Nexus 7 that I use from time to time.

Lol, the 4.4.2 update on my Nexus 4 gives me not even a day of battery life when I'm using it :D
C10H15N yeah the N4 isn't as good with power... I don't know why...
But my N5 is very happy indeed.
'Screen-on' time seems to be a major contributor with all power consumption issues.
I don't know if I should flash 4.3 my nexus. I mean, the battery life is just terrible.

It's probably around AUD$700 so I will wait for the price to drop in around a year. By then I'd have charged my Nexus 5 over 1000 times and the battery will start to degrade, so it'll be time for a change and I've got my eyes on the MotoG! :)

I hate when people say back in 2012 what ever phone they have they say this phone sucks. Now few years later. I miss this phone it was a great phone I should of never upgrade. like really.

Actually, it does. It has HSPA+ which is a 4G network. What it lacks is LTE bands, and it even has those that people were able to enable (the few very advanced members of XDA).
I digged my old nexus 4 out. Unlocked Bootloader in couple seconds, Custom recovery, Lineage OS. My N4 runs 7.1.2 now and it handles it like a champ. I dont see why i Upgraded now 2 phones this runs super Smooth battery is fine. The only things i miss the new phones charge really fast (you have to charge a nexus 4 over the night) and the speaker is horrible. Display is sharp, looks sexy and the led notification just looks amazing. You can get this unlocked for 100 bucks get it for 2017

Had to go back to my Nexus 4 recently after breaking my Nexus 6P, and I must say I am amazed at how buttery this thing still is. I have gigantic hands though so it looks and feels a bit strange when I hold it.

This was the absolute best phone I've ever owned. I have a Note 8 right now but damn, something special about the Nexus 4.

Dropped my precious Nexus 6P last week and destroyed it. Don't have the bread for a Note 8 yet so I pulled my life saver of a phone in the Nexus 4 out of retirement. It is still fairly buttery even though it will be 6yrs old this year. Seriously great backup phone to have lying around.

I have had the nexus 4 for about 3 months now and it is amazing. I don't drop my phone or anything but I really recommend a case. The performance is amazing and for $350 in Toronto on LTE, I am very happy. Great phone

Hi Marques, Definitely your channel is one of the best in my collection. Especially the quality of the shots and the editing that goes in each of your reviews are superb! What camera do you use for capturing all your reviews? is it a cell phone camera or a full fledged one!? Question about Nexus 4's camera: I see most review not going in favour of the camera, I would like to know - is this to do with the lens or the chipset or is this only a software issue which can be fixed by a tweak?
Watching this in 2023, it's taking me back to my University days. It's crazy how good this phone was, for the price.

I bought this phone Christmas 2012 and I remember my friend bought an S3 at the same time. We used to argue about which one was better. I'm still using my Nexus 4 to this day, it has no lag at all and my friend has owned 2 more phones since. However as I approach the 3 year mark and the new Nexus phones have been announced I think it's about time I give myself an upgrade (thinking of the 5X). Nexus 4 - probably the best phone I've ever owned.
My 2nd Android phone was the Nexus 4, I wish I'd kept it. It was one of the prettiest phones ever. And the fact I added LTE to it made it so cool

After positive experiences with the Galaxy Nexus (the first smartphone I ever used) I really got hyped when this phone was coming out. I still miss the days of the holo interface, I thought it looked really cool.

In it's day, this was a great device. I'm on the Pixel 2 now, which, to me, is the Nexus Line improved.

Man I loved this phone so much. The subtle sloped edges and glittery glitch back were just superb. Performed well except for deactivated LTE radio, wish they could've built on this design instead of the boring Nexus 5.

This spec were so awesome back then,but phone always upgrade from hardware to software,but one thing that like before till today from elderly phone is the SIZE,it so easy to hold in one hands,there not much choices for flagship model in 5.0 inch nowdays,really miss them,even today,i'm carying a 6.0inch phone..
I miss this phone - and the pricing - awesome strategy to get people onto "what should a stock android phone look and work like?"! Happy days!!
