I consider the oura scammy too. They gave you one month of subscription before, now they give 6 months. I sincerely believe the one month is exactly because that's the time you can send online bought devices back for a full refund. So you will only realize you have to have an expensive subscription after you can't send it back... And the base price is already super expensive.
If they make an android app, they can take on the oura's market for sure.

These don't make sense. A small metal ring on a finger shouldn't be able to accurately determine sleep patterns and heart rate. There's a reason watches make sense because they are on the wrist where your pulse is. If you've been to a doctor they can get pulse rates from your finger but it's usually your index finger with a bulky clasp that goes over your entire finger applying pressure.

Don't be a conspiracy nut. Being US only almost certainly has nothing to do with menstrual tracking in particular, but rather has to do with certifications and regulatory approval for the device and app that they simply didn't bother doing in any other country. That, or they just didn't want to sell it in Canadian dollars or something - the app store doesn't care why the developer region-locked the app, and the developer doesn't control the nature of that lock. As for reporting to a government agency, no that's not realistic either. That isn't to say that certain state laws couldn't enable a court to subpoena records from this company - which is why a lot of people stopped using period tracking apps in the US - but the chances that the company is willingly and proactively selling that data to the government? Not likely at all.

If I put it on in the morning before work and wear it until it dies, it dies before I go to sleep the next night. So I either have to focus on it and when to charge it and when to put it back on or I miss nights of sleep data or big chucks of the day so the data I do get from it is mostly useless. Devices that track health and sleep data really need to have at least 6 days of battery life to have the best chance of logging accurate and helpful data.

Sarah was a great host for this, as someone who wears rings and can speak to the woman's health portion of the product (even if she didn't care for this implementation at all). She clearly struggled with the negative recommendation at the end and should probably have been even more negative, but she did say she didn't recommend it and stated some good reasons for it.

Blood oxygen changes in seconds based on your breathing. The fact it said 95% and then a short time later said 100% is super normal. A rainy below 95% doesn't necessarily mean you need to see a doctor, unless it's always that low, especially if you're breathing deeply and the number isn't going up.

3:00 important note: titanium can get scratched when painted.
That's why premium Eyeglasses does not have painting on.
So that's why also iPhone 15 pro is scratchable.
The issue is not titanium. Titanium is very light and resistant, but the coating is not.

I literally just use a Fitbit Versa 4, it does steps, sleep, 24/7 heart rate, etc. and I only have to charge it once a week, I feel like no big tech RUclipsrs talk about them. They’re cheaper, have better battery life, and do all the basics that you need. And you still get notifications if you want them

Yeah I use a Sense that I got dirt cheap back when it was being replaced by the Sense 2. Paid something like $175 for it, and it does everything I need. Could do a bit better with floor tracking as I'm *pretty sure* I don't go up 30-45 flights of stairs a day like it claims (maybe 10-15 at most), but other than that the sleep tracking is accurate, the smartwatch features are good enough, and the health data is meaningful without being overly complicated.

0:07 I charge mine right when I get home from work, because work doesn’t let me access my phone as much as when I’m home. I’m just trading which screen I’m using.
By my bedtime, my watch is charged, and I wear it through the night because the vibration on my wrist is so good at waking me up.

Blood Oxygen is just in all of these devices because it is easy too measure. Not because it is usually super relevant. And most metrics are so inaccurate because these rings do only a few checks per day. Some let you set the frequency, but less then 1 per hours is fairly normal for battery life.

Wait, the app asks you "how you Identify". I'm open on what people want to be, or feel. But on a health based situation like this, shouldn't this be the Biological Gender, due to body differences? I mean if you select, you want to select your cycles, and then pick "Male", isn't that like counterin that question? And your Body-Metabolism is completely different if you are Male/Female.
And yes, probably after you went through transistion, whatsoever, then things are bit different, but You are still biologically one of those two options.

My experience has shown that if you want a piece of smart fitness tech and you don't want to spend a lot of money, get a Fitbit. Mine typically lasts 5-6 days on a charge. It's not particularly accurate for things like step counting though. If you want something that's top of the line, and money is no object, get a Garmin watch with the solar charging.

Please do not wear "waterproof" tech in the shower or while doing dishes. They can resist cold water sure, but heat + soap every single day will definitely eat its way into the device before warranty is up and they usually don't have water damage on the warranty either.

    • @TheSolongsidekick
      @TheSolongsidekick 2 месяца назад

Yeah... unless you were furiously masturbating while fighting a bear at the top of Mt. Everest that's not even remotely accurate. For perspective: if you were in a hospital and actually gave that reading you'd be intubated. An even remotely healthy adult should never dip below 99% when resting, it sounds like the Apple pulse oximeter is just as trash as the Evie.
Source: Spent 2 years battling stupidity, trying to off myself "accidentally". Ended up spending 2 months in the hospital extremely lucky to survive, with 2 weeks of that on life support. After surgery I couldn't keep my blood oxygen above 90% and they intubated me and put me on said life support. When they woke me up I was extremely weak (when you spend 2 weeks not even breathing for yourself your muscles atrophy to a shocking degree; I couldn't even grip a foam cup and the first time they sat me up I passed out) and desperate to get the giant tube out of my throat, but they wouldn't remove it until I could keep my blood oxygen above 95% for a set period of time without a single dip. The machine would beep when it dipped below that, and the few times it happened the despair of knowing the tube was staying in was enough to make me pass back out. What finally got me to throw up the white flag and call an ambulance was the combination of 1) losing 3 units of blood the night before by developing a (relatively small, I mean for an artery) arterial bleed and after realizing that the sound I was hearing was not indeed my dog pissing inside but my blood spraying across the room thumb-over-the-end-of-a-hose style and hitting a gatorade bottle that was on the ground ~6' away I sighed and said "well... I need a cigarette before I deal with this" and then did that extremely stupid thing, and 2) the other massive issues I had at the time making me feel like no matter how much and how fast I desperately gasped for air I still felt like I was drowning. I passed out standing before I could even take a single step and fell backwards onto my bed frame, cracking two vertebrae in my back. So after regaining consciousness in a heap on the floor with my back feeling like I got hit by a car, laying in yet another giant pool of blood I realized "oh shit if I don't get help right now I'm literally gonna die" and my obnoxious survival instincts kicked in and I made the call. If you read all this blabbering thanks and kisses.
